Why even start over? The only “crisis” in American health care is it’s expensive. Well, yeah, it’s the best in the world. It should cost more. But one of the big reasons it’s so expensive is the cost of insuring providers and practitioners against frivolous lawsuits. And the cost of fraud. I think the reform we really need is tort reform and fraud prosecution.

    Back to the Marxist Medicine:

Elections have consequences, and the Marxist Party has a filibuster proof margin in the Senate, almost 50 seat majority in the House, and a President who has been groomed to be a communist agent since childhood.
The last check/balance is a Supreme Court that is currently aligned 4 Marxists and 4 Constitutionalists, with 1 wild card with no clear judicial philosophy.

If Pelosi’s Marxist Medicine Bill, with clear language demanding every American pay at least $12 per year to help murder unborn babies is defeated, it is because of the faux moderates, the House Blue Dogs, who have to hide their affiliation to communism because they represent districts that don’t have a hard core Marxist majority.

The Senate is trickier, 2/3rds have 4 or more years before facing the voters, and an ex-Senator has a better chance of landing a cushie J Street lobbying job after the 1 year no-lobbying period, and probably at higher pay.

Pelosi and the House leadership are all from safely Marxist districts. The worst that can happen to San Fran Nan is losing the speaker’s gavel. She’ll have her House seat until she dies or retires.

The climate bill is less scary to me than Marxist Medicine.

It can be cancelled fairly quickly if we have free elections and get a Republican House and Congress.

Pelosi’s version of Obama’s Marxist Medicine bill will drive private insurers out of business, and since it contains language mandating all citizens pay at least $12 a year to provide free elective abortions, it will probably also force Catholic hospitals, and Christian doctors, out of practice.

It will be much harder to bring back private insurance companies and open shuttered hospitals.

Of course, she will try to ram through a very unpopular bill though the House!

If only the politicians understood the simple truth of your statement. The only way to bring down the cost of a doc’s visit is to bring down his overhead=tort reform. The best way to bring down insurance premiums is to bring down the company’s overhead=fight insurance fraud.

As far as expensive medications go. I guess you could limit us to use of generic drugs and stop the incentive for pharm research, and lower the regulations on drug safety and potency standards. India has a booming business selling cheap drugs, but they often contain only 1/10th of the advertised active ingredient. Russia is even worse. They also do not spend billions on development of new drugs. We can do the same here and will have cheaper medical costs, but we will lose a large portion of our economy in the process.

Those who complain about how expensive medical procedures and hospital stays run, should consider cheaper alternatives such as a stay in a Mexican hospital. You would have to cut equipment maintainance standards, decrease the salaries of nurses, doctors, and all hospital workers. Essentially you would need to deal a severe blow to middle class Americans who work in the health industry. Many of them who are young enough to chose a different career, may chose to work in other fields.

If you want a serious solution to health care costs, then you have to deal with the trial lawyers and institute tort reform.

What we need but what will not happen is to getback to insuring only for catastrophic care.

    Read Ann Coulter’s great synopsis:
    http://www.anncoulter.com/cgi-local/article.cgi?article=336

“This is the problem with all third-party payor systems — which is already the main problem with health care in America and will become inescapable under universal health care.

Not only do the free-market segments of medicine produce faster appointments and shorter waiting lines, but they also produce more innovation and price drops. Blindly pursuing profits, other companies are working overtime to produce cheaper, better alternatives to Botox. The war on wrinkles is proceeding faster than the war on cancer, declared by President Nixon in 1971.

In 1960, 50 percent of all health care spending was paid out of pocket directly by the consumer. By 1999, only 15 percent of health care spending was paid for by the consumer. The government’s share had gone from 24 percent to 46 percent. At the same time, IRS regulations made it a nightmare to obtain private health insurance.

The reason you can’t buy health insurance as easily and cheaply as you can buy car insurance — or a million other products and services available on the free market — is that during World War II, FDR imposed wage and price controls. Employers couldn’t bid for employees with higher wages, so they bid for them by adding health insurance to the overall compensation package.

Although employees were paying for their own health insurance in lower wages and salaries, their health insurance premiums never passed through their bank accounts, so it seemed like employer-provided health insurance was free.

Employers were writing off their employee insurance plans as a business expense, but when the IRS caught on to what employers were doing, they tried to tax employer-provided health insurance as wages. But, by then, workers liked their “free” health insurance, voters rebelled, and the IRS backed down.

So now, employer-provided health insurance is subsidized not only by the employees themselves through lower wages and salaries, but also by all taxpayers who have to make up the difference for this massive tax deduction.

How many people are stuck in jobs they hate and aren’t good at, rather than going out and doing something useful, because they need the health insurance from their employers? I’m not just talking about MSNBC anchors — I mean throughout the entire economy.

Almost everything wrong with our health care system comes from government interference with the free market. If the health care system is broken, then fix it. Don’t try to invent a new one premised on all the bad ideas that are causing problems in the first place.”

But, I did not post that statement a couple of hours ago; so , unlike Jean Dixon, I will not pretend that I predicted anything.

‘Course, I might be wrong, and Hasan may be an infidel or an apostate…riiight.

Yes, I am. The Constitution doesn’t give the Federal Government the power to take over the health care industry.

I saw nan order a monent of silence to those killed at Ford Hood. She could hardly wait to get her moment done to get her gosh horrible bill before the members to vote. To nan, do you have any member of you family in the military? Do you give a flying flit how the thousands of families feel to loose a loved one? The only thing that is keeping me going is when nan and those in dc crater have to answer for what they did. I have a feeling, they won’t like how their outcome goes down.

Interestingly, I did post a statement to that effect shortly before the name was released. So I guess I am the psychic!

    This is what I said…

I am waiting to hear the names of the shooters. That could tell us a lot.

Then, about a half hour later, Shep Smith said, “I have heard the name, but we are not ready to release it. However, the name perhaps does tell us something. At that point, I knew the name would be arab.
Now, that doesn’t tell us this was terrorism, but only that common sense tells us there is a muslim connection to this. Is that racist? I don’t think so.

    On the other subject:

Shep is talking to someone who knew this Hasan a while back. Apparently he made a number of statements of sympathy with the terrorists.

They’ll try to spin it so it doesn’t involve terrorism, but from what Colonel Terry Lee says, it was.

So, Nancy P has gone back on her words.

    Nancy breaks promise

TWS: Madam Speaker, do you support the measure to put the final House bill online for 72 hours before it’s voted on at the very end?

    PELOSI: Absolutely. Without question.

…speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before…

If that was my job and I said something so definitive, I’d be fired.

How the *ell do they get away with it?

Way off topic but well worthwhile, NPR is sponsoring a poll on its blog asking people to choose whose side they support in the White House’s war on Fox. So far, Fox is winning by almost 9 to 1. On NPR’s own blog.

Who do they support Fox or the White House? What the heck kind of question is that for the taxpayers funded radio to ask?

Meanwhile, let’s focus on how many are against the health care bill.

Judging by several polls, yes I believe there is pretty incontrovertable evidence that the American public wants the public option.

    What bullbleep.

Support has been falling for months.

    See:

    http://www.pollster.com/polls/us/healthplan.php

You’ll about fifteen different polls taken since October 1, with virtually all coming down against Congress’ health care plan.

You can try arguing with a straight face that “that doesn’t mean they’re against the public option, just the overall plan”, but you’ll get laughed out of court.

Do you really think you’re going to get away with citing a poll which already skews heavily LIBERAL? Yeah, that Washington Post is so reliably non-partisan.

When you can cite a poll, any poll, that has sampling data that represents Repubs, Dems, and Independents EVENLY with no oversampling…. you might be believed. Yet, ever the Dem water carrier, you cite an overly sampled LIBERAL poll.

Of course liberals want the public option, they want everything handed to them on a silver platter (including you). And, if they could get the free house, car, and college education kicked in…. all the beter.

    Not on my dime.
