Here comes Harrycare!

A few weeks ago, intrepid Harry Reid was telling us he wouldn’t be “bound by any timelines” and wouldn’t rush the government health care takeover through the Senate on a White House-imposed schedule.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) late Tuesday laid the groundwork for the Senate’s healthcare reform debate to start next Tuesday.
Reid filed a motion to introduce the bill on Monday, Nov. 16. Anticipating a Republican objection, the bill would be pushed onto the Senate calendar.
“A motion to proceed to the bill would be in order the next legislative day,” said Reid spokesman Jim Manley.
In doing so, Reid heeded the advice of former President Bill Clinton, who visited Senate Democrats Tuesday at their weekly caucus lunch and urged them to move quickly to pass health reform…
…Reid’s action late Tuesday sets up a critical vote next week on a motion to proceed to the bill. Such a motion would require 60 votes to succeed — an important, early test of the Democratic caucus’s unity on procedural votes.
Yes, by all means, keep heeding Bill Clinton’s advice and may Obamacare/Pelosicare/Reidcare go the way of Clintoncare: Straight to the graveyard of failed ideas.
Speaking of which…the White House is still leaving the door open to abusing the budget reconciliation process to ram the government health care takeover through.
Has anyone seen the Harrycare bill yet? It’s still vapor.
Once again: Welcome to the death of deliberative democracy.

I phoned my (my) Senator Reid’s office today and told his assistant Jamie that I expect her boss to make enrollment in the plan compulsory for every Senator who votes for it.
I reminded her that right now, the House plan is good enough for illegal aliens, but not good enough for Congress.
If it’s not good enough for Congress, it’s not good enough for me.
Jamie did not laugh.
Forgot to mention:
A great place to spend your money for lunch if you are not a veteran. And tell the manager why you are there, supporting their business, on Veterans Day.
Was this a counter to Liberman’s promise to filibuster this monstrosity and shorten the time available to health care opponents in enticing Dem defectors?
This stinks as bad as DC Capitol tourists in the middle of a summer heatwave.
This stinks as bad as DC Capitol
touristspoliticians in the middle of a summer heatwave. Here I was, ready to go to sleep (Alaska time), and then I clicked on that ugly picture of Dingy Harry. Now I am obliged to stay up and do research. Grrrrrrr
And on battery power too!
Republicans alone can’t stop this bill. All we can do now is hope for a few Democrats to come to their senses and join Republicans to force Harrycare to commit hari kari.
The Democrats are on a suicide mission, Kids. The only thing that is going to stop them is an armed revolution. Yes, I’m talking shooting people and blowing up things. Nothing else will put a stop to this BS. That’s just how serious this business is.
Wow! After Dingy Harry said no bill until next year, I am shocked……not.
Would rather hear of “Here comes Hari Kari”
buh bye dingy,,,,,,,
Bill Clinton’s got nothing to worry about, so he could care less what these bozos do with their “careers” (not called public service any more, is it?)Clinton totally misread why he lost the control of Congress. It certainly wasn’t because he failed to pass health care, it was because he tried to pass it. Does anyone have a list of the senators who are up for re-election next year, aside from Dirty Harry?
I keep hearing from the republican/conservative “experts” that these bills are “dead on arrival”, or “not a chance they will pass the Senate”. I don’t feel so sure about that.
Remember, this is THE HOLY GRAIL of liberals. This will give them unprecedented control of all of us. They are too close to let this opportunity disappear. They WILL use evey dirty trick in the book.
Clinton needs to be tea-bagged, Bill, not Hillary. Big pompous ass that he and the rest of the democommunist are showing themselves to be.
Bring it Harry. BTW, have you checked your latest job approval polls? Hovering around 20% last time I looked. You know, Harry, your assessment regarding when a war is lost is not very reliable. The other one wasn’t, this one is…and this is the one you will chose to fight?
You’ll need to empoly reconciliation. You know it’s the only way to get ‘er done. Then this whole steaming pile of pork droppings will be struck down as unconstitutional, and you and your bizarre bunch of politicritters will crash and burn.
Bring it Harry. Please!
When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty. Thomas Jefferson
Amendment 28
Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United
States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives,
and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or
Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the
United States .
Let’s get this passed around, folks – these people have brought this upon themselves!!!
Fine and dandy, but I don’t want anyone stuck with it!
Dobby the house elve: “Ram it!”
I am not too impressed with Constitutional Amendments at the moment-the SOBs won’t obey and hold to the Constitution we do have and really make little pretense of doing so. With Leftist in charge of government on almost all levels, the civil service and the courts I would think this is NOT a good time to open the Constitution. We have a President and Congress who but sneer at “That Bill of Negative Rights”.
We might want to buy a Pocket Edition of the Constitution for our wobbly associates.
“…take a minute to consider a gift that hasn’t gone out of style in more than 200 years.”

Instead of “Remember the Alamo!”
“Remember McCain-Fiengold!” or
“Remember TARP!”
When Dirty Harry asserted that the war was lost, when it wasn’t, do not worry the politicians will make sure that it is lost. As for the HarryCare, I do not believe any of the politicians today. There is no honor in Washington DC, corruption rules.
Clearly he’s betting that with Thanksgiving and Christmas on the horizon, we the people will be too busy and preoccupied to stop the monster at the gates.
Fix bayonets.
They want to get this thing off the table as soon as possible in the hopes voters will forget about it in a year (alas, many will). Then they can spend all of 2010 creating and saving imaginary jobs to show those same voters how much better they are off now that hope and change has arrived. Millions, like good liberal lemmings will swallow it whole and vote Socialist to continue the destruction of their liberties.
IIRC, Lieberman’s filibuster threat was only on a final vote if it included full Marxism, ie, the public option.
I don’t think Lieberman will stand with a filibuster on a vote to bring this monstrosity to the floor for a debate.
Besides, for ever Lieberman, or maybe Nelson or Lincoln, moderate Dems who might support a filibuster on Marxist Medicine, there is a Snowe, Collins and Graham who would probably vote for cloture.
Eric Holder-Attorney General of the United States defending us again: More “Shadow of the jackboot…
Constitution? Bill of Rights? Individual Liberty? In the age of Hussein Obama, Reid and Pelosi? Oh please…
It’s about time for pitchforks and muskets.
ObamaCare is going to hit like a one-two punch. Here comes the other fist…

These two lists are our illustrious elected officials up for their seats in 2010…copy it and visit them regularly.
Tea Party people are extremists you know, so beware of my implied threat in asking you to do your part. heh
With any luck, Bill Clinton’s injecting himself into the debate will only further ensure the demise of whatever travesty emerges as a so-called health care bill.
An earlier list suggested that both VA senators could be worth calling, despite not being up for re-election. Some of the electorate do remember things, after all, and if this bill went through the results might be apparent before some of these senators are up for re-election. (There almost certainly would have been dramatic public fights over some of the stupider provisions by that time.) So don’t not call your person just because they’re not up!
You know, a part of me – deep down inside – is wondering if Bill Clinton didn’t make those “tea-bagger” comments specifically to direct more ire at Congress.
After all, Obama pretty much screwed over Hillary Clinton in the primaries, and has overshadowed the legacy Clinton, so wouldn’t it be schadenfreude for Clinton to help kill Obamacare?
Just a theory…
The Senate is now REIDing the bill.
I would rather they kill the bill.
I am getting really tired of being referred to as a tea bagger. And this week alone two different presidents have referred to the those who stood up for their rights, against being taxed to death, having one right after another taken away, with no end in sight from this freedom grabbing bunch.,as tea baggers.
Wonder if tar and feathers are available?

HI THELONERANGER–5:38–and FLYOVERMAN. I hope your “shoot em up” and “bayonet em” approaches will not be necessary. The “line in the sand” has not been crossed yet–remember how bad is was for the defenders at the ALAMO when the line was really crossed.
***
Till then–be prepared–”arm up” just in case. But at present–Comrade Obama (PBUH) and his “democRAT” / liberal / socialist / statist / marxist / communist supporters are getting more rope to hang themselves with every day. Never intervene when the enemy is trying to commit suicide!
***
When the tax increases and more Malvo style sniper attacks and / or Fort Hood style terrorist attacks hit home they will be toast in the 2010 and 2012 elections. At present it is TIME FOR BALLOTS–NOT BULLETS! No need for the much less effective bayonets yet.
***
SARAH’CUDA for POTUS, JOHN BOLTON for VP. The AMERICA FIRST ticket you can believe in. Close the Republican primaries to crossover voters to keep the democRATS from picking our candidates. Vote out all democRATS, RINO’s, and corrupticans.

Not long ago, I visited this blog daily (more than once often) to keep up with a lot of what has been going on, but more and more these days, the rampant Polyanna syndrome here has gotten unbearable.
“Health care bill will get stopped here!”
“Ok, we know it will get stopped here!…”
“wait, we just know it will get stopped here.”
When will you people wake up?
The lunatics in the house and the senate don’t care if they lose the elections in 2010. They are set for life financially and will live like kings and queens while the rest of the US suffers and dies under tyranny. Healthcare isn’t their “latest powergrab”, it is their final sprint to the finish line.
Michelle and others have spent the lat year organizing tea-parties and various protests which have had what effect? None that is measurable. Where one item is defeated, it is merely re-introduced with even more garbage attached.
Should we have sat back and done nothing? No. But focusing readers hopeless causes is a waste of time when you could be studying history and learning how to survive the coming changes that this country is going to go through.
Conservatives have been accused of “clinging to their guns and bibles”, but conservatives also have a bad habit of “clinging to the way it was”.
I called my senators. Sen. Russ Feingold’s voicemail was full so I sent him an e-mail.
I left a message for Sen. Herb Kohl. Both are bluer than Smurfs, but hopefully they will listen.
JonB – Careful! If you mention how the trend is and has been against freedom you will be accused of being a “chicken little” who just wants to roll over and die.
***
HI JONB–Don’t think that the “teaparties”, Sarah Palin Facebook “sniper shots from the woods”, conservative bloggers like Michelle Malkin, Fox News TV, conservative talk radio, etc. are not “prepping the battlefield” for the 2010 and 2012 elections.
***
The “democRAT” / liberal / socialist / statist / marxist / communist President Obama (PBUH) and his congressional minions can ignore us at will now as they cram their C**P SANDWICHES down our throats now. But they won in 2008 by a 53 percent to 47 percent margin.
***
When the continued economic damage and international arena damage to our country increases over the next few years they are toast. They will not be able to win the 2010 and 2012 elections when all pay the much higher taxes and energy costs their plans and actions are bringing us soon.
***
Vote them out in these elections. Teaparty them at all opportunities. The American “sheeple” will wake up soon and see who is screwing them over now.
***
Blaming the evil BOOOOSH and CHENEY will not work any longer. Comrade Obama and his minions own the economic disasters now. Watch the REAL CLEAR POLITICS poll numbers to see how their ratings are “tanking” now.

You’ve got it right, JonB. People are only deluding themselves if they think all of this phone-calling and letter-writing is going to make any difference.
You know what would really get the Left to thinking? A sudden stone silence from the right, followed by major ammunition purchases, purchases of survival gear, and purchases of survival food.
You see, as long as Conservatives are whining, complaining, and writing, the Lefties know the Right is expending it’s energies on those activities. When it becomes obvious that the Right is preparing for a civil war and bloodshed, Then the Left will know it’s reached the “threshhold”.
Nothing else will get the message across. Americans have the RIGHT and DUTY to throw out a tyrannical government. Our founding fathers said so.
