President O-bow-ma

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 14, 2009 09:34 PM

Crikey, is there a single adult in the White House who can teach the commander-in-chief some presidential protocol?

The Left complained that George W. Bush was too much of a cowboy on the global stage.

It’s better than having a waterboy:

First, the Saudi King. Now, the Japanese Emperor. What’s he going to do with Russian President Medvedev on Sunday — the downward-facing dog yoga pose?

FYI: Everyone else in the world seems to know how to greet the Japanese Emperor without scraping the floor…

What a Spineless Blunder:

Reminds me of one of my favorite Tea Party signs:

Believe me, pal, when I say that you are both full of “it”. YOU HAVE NO IDEA when/where/how/to whom bowing takes place in Japan. It’s NOT the equivalent of a handshake.

The provincialism is all yours, in that you “assume” without knowledge or experience.

As I said, I lived there for five years. During the 20 years after that, I flew to Tokyo on business at least fifty times. I KNOW whereof I speak.

Specifically that we won the war on two fronts. Its great to monday morning quarterback, but its something completely different when you are on the front lines making the hard decisions.

If so, what law is it precisely that prohibits this? Or maybe it’s just protocol? In that case, perhaps you could point out where here http://www.state.gov/s/cpr/index.htm that protocol is described? Because I don’t see it anywhere, and neither does anyone else.

Because while you’re all whipping yourselves into another nonsensical frenzy over something that couldn’t possibly matter less, the fact of the matter is… there is no law, nor even protocol, that prohibits the President of the United States from behaving with culturally appropriate manners when a guest in a foreign country.

The reason for the bow is simple: He cannot apologize to Japan. There is nothing to apologize to them for since WWII, even in the most fevered America hating imaginations of the far left, so he would have to apologize to them for our actions in WWII.

Although I’m quite certain Obama would be both willing and able to give that apology, especially with regard to dropping the Bomb on them, that kind of apology is the kind of thing that might really cement a great deal of rage against him in the center of the American electorate.

In other words, a great many very, very stupid Americans (or perhaps just incredibly ignorant) who voted for him in 2008, but do not actually hate America themselves, would be unable to ignore that kind of extreme anti-American trash coming out of his mouth.

So the bow has to suffice, in the place of an apology.

It still accomplishes the central purpose of diminishing America. That’s the goal.

He has credentials. He didn’t actually do anything to earn those credentials, but he has them, and that is all that is important to the idiot Democrat voter.

And he reads a teleprompter tolerably well.

As Biden put it: He’s an “African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”

    That’s what they wanted.

    from Obama’s own words

“People are satisfied so long as you were courteous and smiled and made no sudden moves. They were more than satisfied, they were relieved – such a pleasant surprise to find a well-mannered young black man who didn’t seem angry all the time.”

Still waiting to see his sealed records that will tell the truth about this dim-wit…

Indeed. When a man bows to someone in Japan, you keep both hands at your sides, and the bow is not nearly as extreme as Obama shows in this photo. I have NEVER seen anyone bow AND shake hands like this in my life.

All this is is Obama behaving in accordance to his child-like impression of what is expected when you meet Japanese royalty. It’s merely THE ONE displaying his utter ignorance and stupidity.

Utterly amazing. He grovels before the Japanese emperor, yet he cannot deign to simply lift his right hand and put it on his chest in common American respect. It only convinces me that he never has BEEN an American, and we have a hostile foreign alien running our country.

The interesting thing is, no other American President has ever bowed ot he Emperor of Japan, especially not the way President Obama did.

What an embarrassment to the USA.
