In Japan, one nevers bows and shakes hands simultaneously as Obama is seen doing. Doing so is highly disrespectful.

Since one does not have to be an American to be elected to White House, chances are that voters do not have to be American either. Considering that possibility, what is the harm in bowing to people, one never knows who may vote which way in 2012?

The reason for the bow is simple: He cannot apologize to Japan. There is nothing to apologize to them for since WWII, even in the most fevered America hating imaginations of the far left, so he would have to apologize to them for our actions in WWII.
Although I’m quite certain Obama would be both willing and able to give that apology, especially with regard to dropping the Bomb on them, that kind of apology is the kind of thing that might really cement a great deal of rage against him in the center of the American electorate.
In other words, a great many very, very stupid Americans (or perhaps just incredibly ignorant) who voted for him in 2008, but do not actually hate America themselves, would be unable to ignore that kind of extreme anti-American trash coming out of his mouth.
So the bow has to suffice, in the place of an apology.

I wish Rassmussen would do a poll strictly of people that voted for obama in the last election, and find out the percentage of those voters who regret their decision to vote for this buffoon.
I think it also shows psychological projection. This is what he feels others should be doing to him; therefore, he thinks it is a polite thing to do.

Erin, if you check out some of the polls from NJ you should see cross tabs that show at least some information about Obama voters. I’ll see if I can fin some polls that cross tabbed the Obama question against other questions in the poll.
What I believe you will see is a some indication of dissatisfaction.
Erin, I only found one poll that asked about a person’s 2008 Pres vote.
16% of Obama voters voted for Christie.
10% of McCain voters went for Corzine.
The shift in this one poll shows some potential dissatisfaction with Obama. But the specific question you’re looking for wasn’t asked in the poll I saw on RealClearPolitics.
It’s common sense, if he wants to stand a chance of winning back blue-collar moderates, a.k.a., Reagan-democrats.

Living in Japan, and having been here for more than 11 years, the Japanese are eating this up. An American President Bowing to Emperor like he’s god (many Japanese people think their emperor should be worshipped that way).
