Today is a baking day. I’m attempting to make a Bakugan birthday cake for my son. (Here’s last year’s Pikachu cake.) Gulp. I need the Cake Boss! Wish me luck and talk amongst yourselves.

What’s with get in the holiday spirit? Halloween is over.
Real question for anybody; What % of Obama’s approval numbers does the minority voters represent? ie; 50% approve versus 42% disapprove (Rassmussen).
Has anyone else noticed that just as Sarah Palin is about to start her book tour, just about every attack on her is from a Republican? Last month, it was McCain’s top campaign strategist Steve Schmidt. Yesterday, Ann Althouse (the Team Bush advisor who was assigned to Palin and gave all of the advice that led to embarassment) and unbelievably, Dick Armey who seems to be harboring an ambition to run for president and wants to take out his main competition ASAP.
Apparently, there are still many foxes in sheep’s clothing among us.
Looking forward to Palin’s interview and hearing what she has to say in her own words.
Another issue worth discussing: Eric Holder revealed yesterday that he made his decision to try KSM in NYC without consulting the president. Does anyone here believe that? So far, I haven’t anyone defend yesterday’s decision. All I heard was a universal gasp of disbelief.

Remember the CIA prosecutions? I think this whole thing is a distraction tactic. They figured people in NYC would be up in arms about having the trial there because of 9/11 and it would be all over the news. That way, the Senate could get cracking on the health care bill without anyone noticing.

I believe yesterday was one big distraction to draw attention away from Obama’s desperate trip to China. It leaves the appearance that there is no one in charge in the White House.
I fear what will come out of these meetings. China wants us to remove most of our military bases from Taiwan and elsewhere as they expand their military and economic hegemony. They are also demanding that we lift our domestic trade restrictions while their own anti-trade restrictions are not open to discussion. It’s the old “what is ours is ours but what is yours is negotiable” ploy that weak appeasers like Obama and Chamberlain always seem to fall for. Any deal for them is a political victory.
Our government is acting very weak in the face of danger and it is spooking all of our allies. This meeting could be the very turning point that assures a world war. Yet I don’t hear or see any discussions anywhere on this. We may be blinder and more ignorant than any of us want to believe. Very unsettling.

Drying out around here, in Eastern Virginia. We still have some flooded streets but people are out cleaning up. Not a whole lot of damage but some areas will take a while getting back to normal. Some wind gusts got up to hurricane speed. Power is out all over the area but will be back by Sunday afternoon…so the power company says.
No worries about cake, that’s one thing that always disappears.

1. Rhetorical – Why doesn’t Obama call the Ft Hood terrorist attack what it was rather than referring to it as a tragedy, implying it was as natural as a tornado destroying a community? Could he be continuing the political correctness that caused this to begin with. He’d show no such deference if it were an ex-Sunday school teacher – it would be called a domestic terror attack by a right-wing, gun-toting, white, Christian, fundamentalist.
2. Why does Obama want Congress to hold off investigating the Ft. Hood terrorist attack? Probably because the White House needs time to shred all of the incriminating emails they have on the subject.
3. Why is Obama so eager to bow to a Saudi King or the Japanese emperor but pretty much shows disrespect to the Queen of England?
3. It seems everything Obama does is to try and invalidate anything George Bush did during his Presidency and/or to give an “in your face” to conservatives. His latest is the trials of the Gitmo detainees in New York. A lot of this is to discredit the Bush Administration. In other words, childish behavior. It’s going to bite him like his rash decision to close Guantanamo within a year.

Correction: Although Ann Althouse did post an ignorant attack on Sarah Palin yesterday, she was not a McCain-assigned advisor to her campaign. She was, however, part of Team Bush.

Well, I’m down here in Savannah, GA beautiful day, but not here for vacation. My sister was deployed last night to Afghanistan (her 3rd deployment, first to A-stan two in Iraq prior) so I’m here with my family packing her stuff out of her apt. So yea, it’s been a tough week.

I read Rassmussen everyday, I can not believe there is that many ignorant people in America, especially after the shenanigans this clown has pulled in 10 months.

Yeay! My youngest daughter arrived back in the US last night from Iraq. Her first deployment. She’ll be home next week. My son got back in March (his first also). Now I can breathe again.

Bowing is a sign of respect to the Japanese. However, I think he went a little overboard with that bow. A slight bow with a handshake would have been appropiate. But, let’s face it. We have a president who has no experience or knowledge of international protocol, so he consistently makes a fool of himself. I’m sure the Emperor and his wife laughed afterwards.

Over the years I worked with Japanese Military and Civilian Engineers at White Sands Missile Range. At first there was a skilled translator available–a U.S. Caucasian lady who grew up in Japan.

Later she no longer came with the “troops”–not very many of the Japanese spoke English at all. And only one of our engineers spoke any Japanese. At times I had to work on a technical problem with a Japanese engineer–we studied the data and schematics together and would “muddle through” to a solution.

I always gave a short bow to them when I met them or saw them the first time each day. They did the same to me–the bow is like a HELLO, handshake, or military salute to them. You do it to each other as a form of mutual respect. I don’t like Comrade Obama’s (PBUH) policies–but I think His bow is probably appropriate when dealing with the Japanese.

Have to say, I was really impressed with Virginia Power. We lost power yesterday morning. Took the kids out for lunch and to make sure we had enough supplies for a couple of days cooking in the fireplace. When we saw the damage (large pine fell on the lines one place, utility pole snapped a little further up the road), we figured we wouldn’t have power for days — especially since we’re in a semi-rural area, so maybe 20 houses total affected. But they had power restored last night.
Just want to say thanks to the guys who go up in the buckets in the wind and rain and dark for the rest of us.

I just saw a promo of an interview with Sarah Palin on 20/20 with Barbara Walters.
I am beyond disgusted. Why are her children sitting there with Barbara Walters for an interveiw? I am not interested in her children. I am more interested in her thoughts and logic on healthcare reform, on her approach to terrorism, on her approach to dealing with Wall Street, on her approach to dealing with North Korea, on her approach to Cuba, on her definition of winning the war on terrorism, on her approach to dealing with so many policy questions.
I am not getting ‘it.’
Your children are not the story. I want to know what you think about the issues of the day. I want to know what you think about how the country moves forward and how you would accomplish that. Having your children there moves the discussion in a different direction.
I will watch the Barbar Walters interveiw and I will only think, and question, why are your children there.
This does not mean that there will not be policy questions, but it does cause me to question her desire to address specific issues that might be deflected by having her children there.
I am prepared not to have your children an issue if you are prepared not to have them out front giving you cover.

We were in Pigeon Forge over the week end. We left to come home on Sunday. Traffic was moving slowly, and a car in front of us had an Obama bumper sticker on it. It read: “Pray for Obama. Psalm 109:8″.

(CNSNews.com) –Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Friday that the Obama administration will push for “immigration reform” by giving the estimated 14 million people who are in the United States illegally “fair pathway to earned legal status.”
Some of us have been asking the same questions of Oba Mao, and he has been in office almost a year now.
Oh, and we have been beyond disgusted for several months now.
I was thinking more tire tracks across her mid-section, from Oba Mao’s bus perhaps.
What? Nothing on the President demanding that Congress not hold hearings on why the various agencies under President Bush failed to connect the dots of the Ft Hood terrorist?
Oh, I meant, under President Obama, and the lone wolf victim who cracked under pressure caused by the Bush illegal wars and the Great Bush Depression, leading him to buy a gun that should have been outlawed and then shot 13 people before being illegally shot by police who failed to identify themselves and are responsible for his permanent injuries.

If you’re talking with someone who’s hearing-impaired and you think it’s frustrating for you, it’s nothing compared to what they go through day in and day out. I know my husband gets exasperated repeating himself or hearing the tv blaring, but you know what really sucks? How about hesitating to pick up the phone even when the caller id shows it’s from your neighbor where your 6-yr-old is playing? Or walking into your 4-month-old’s room on a hunch and seeing him kicking his arms and legs with his mouth wide open, but you don’t hear anything? You never really rest because you’re always listening, and then you’re so scared of missing something, you hear things that aren’t really there. It’s exhausting. Just keep that in mind.

There were 1,075 people involved in the election, certification, and swearing-in of Barack Hussein Obama II:
538 Electoral College Electors,
435 Representatives,
100 Senators,
1 Vice-President, and

Not a single one of them inspected a hard copy Certificate of Live Birth for Barack Hussein Obama II, to verify that he was born at Kapi’olani Medical Center in Hawaii as he has claimed.
All 1,075 of them, representing all three branches of our federal government, had sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution, but failed to do so. Not a one of them did their due diligence to ensure that “a President shall have qualified”.
Even those who agree with what the Indiana Court Of Appeals said, must admit that a Quo Warranto case is necessary, since not one of those 1,075 people upheld their sworn oath to support and defend their Constitutional responsibility to ensure the President-Elect qualified.
It is my opinion that the Indiana Court of Appeals misinterpreted the Constitution multiple times… not once, not twice, not three times, but four times in just this one sentence alone:

Has the hospital itself ever officially said he was born there? I don’t think so….and one would think they would be proud to be the birthplace of a president. With no hospital records to prove he was born there the hospital is justifiably hesitant to claim he was born there based on him saying so, especially since he has at times said he was also born in the other Honolulu hospital. A look at a real birth certificate would clear that right up.
When he was adopted and became a citizen of Indonesia and returned to the US, did he go through legal channels, (immigration), to change his name from Barry Soetoro back to B. Hussine Obama? No one has seen the records to prove it. He may be an illegal alien using an unlawful name to sign unconstitutional bills.
But hey, he’s Obama….no problem.
The most amazing thing about the entire issue of “who is Obama” is how effectively the media, including Fox, the talking heads, journalist, reporters, etc., have been intimidated into saying nothing about Obama’s past, not just the BC issue but the many unsavory friends he has/had, like, for example, his mentor Communist Frank Marshall Davis.
Whatever the truth is, anyone but Obama would be subject to 24/7 reporting on the many uncertainties of their past. With Obama it’s as if it’s not brought up because no one wants to know the truth.
How this was done so effectively is a mystery to me, even intimidation and threats such as Lou Dobbs received should not shut down real reporting of something more important and explosive than Watergate ever thought of being.
Should I be afraid to say anything also?
I had fun annoying 2 young pup college students out collecting signatures to “stop global warming”. As if it were as simple as a signature. As far as I could see, no one was really interested in signing.
