Protesting Pelosicare in her own backyard

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 16, 2009 10:37 AM

The Tea Party movement is going strong from the reddest of red states to the bluest corners of the country. In the Bay Area, limited government activists have held several large protests since the beginning of the year. Over the weekend, they gathered for a “sick-in” in San Francisco to protest the House health care takeover.

The City Square has a full report and photos.

Just the kind of protest Sarah Palin should be showing up for. “The Other McCain” has an interesting post today about what Dick Armey said last week that first appeared to be a territorial swipe at Sarah but when read in its entirety, pretty much sums up what has been wrong with Republicans posing as conservatives: they don’t participate on the street. Here is what he said:

Armey also disputed the notion that Palin stands ready to tap into the energy of the vast crowds that have come out at the kinds of “tea party” protests FreedomWorks and others have helped pull together.”You don’t tap into that energy unless you join it. You’ve got to be there, you’ve got to show up. And you can’t remain removed and aloof and send in a memorandum or post something on your blog, and have these folks belief that you’re really part of the movement,” Armey said.
“You have to really go out and walk and work among them. And I’ve seen very few people who are willing to do that. The fact is, these folks are saying, ‘You know, the problem with all you big-shot politicians is you sit on your pedestals and make your pronouncements. Why don’t you join us? Get on the street. And go to work for something. Roll up your sleeves and be involved with us.’ ”
“And they don’t have a lot of time for someone who stands removed and says, ‘Right on.’ They’re not looking for a cheerleader; they’re looking for a captain of the team,” Armey said.

Does this remind anyone of every single Republican candidate in 2008 while we conservatives were fighting the amnesty wars from the streets all on our own? Doesn’t that sound like every single Republican/conservative candidate today?

I hereby apologize (Happily and with relief) for what I said about Dick Armey over the past week.

I was thinking the same thing when I heard Pelosi’s rating in her own district was around 30%. The SF Libs are jsut pissed that she hasn’t been able to get the left’s agenda through quick enough and they are getting impatient.

In a way it makes sense that the libs would be pissed, after all they have control of the Senate, the House and the White House and still have not been able to fully enact their wacky agenda.

And they all know that once a government program is created, it’s near impossible to get rid of it.

Speaking of Newsome, I was surprised to learn he was married to Kimberly Guilfoyle from Fox News, back when she was a SF prosecutor. I have a feeling he’s not really a committed leftist, just politically expedient. I think he would gladly lean more to the right if he was in a City where that would help. But still, seems like an odd match…guess that’s why they’re no longer married.

It must really suck to be a conservative in Frisco. You are sure in the minority there.

I don’t know what kind of statement the White guy in BLACKFACE paint is trying to make. He looks like a “plant” from the left. Engage Comrade Obama and SanFranNan on issues–not on skin color. Keep it classy.

I DID live in San Francisco for 8 years, and when I moved it felt like I’d gotten out of jail. PC idiocy left and right. One day I saw a billboard advertising the San Francisco Dog Show, and realized they were having the annual debutante ball again.

Integrity would be nice but that might be over reaching. SanFranNan did say “being a women is no longer a pre-existing condition”-she did not mention STUPID, DISHONEST or BOTOX INTOXICATION.
