“Hasan signed his e-mails with ‘Praise Be to Allah.’”

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 17, 2009 08:55 AM

You remember that homeland security slogan, “If you see something, say something.”

Well, after you say something, the people in charge of defending our country are supposed to DO SOMETHING.

But the thread that continues to run through the Fort Hood jihadist debacle is that time after time, Hasan’s colleagues did say something. And his superiors continued to DO NOTHING.

The latest: According to ABC News, Hasan repeatedly pushed to have his own patients prosecuted for “war crimes.” He signed his e-mails with “Praise Be to Allah.” Which, of course, is perfectly in keeping with a jihadist whose military business card read “SOA” (Soldier/Servant of Allah).

But hey, let’s not talk about his religious fundamentalism. Shhhhh:

Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s military superiors repeatedly ignored or rebuffed his efforts to open criminal prosecutions of soldiers he claimed had confessed to “war crimes” during psychiatric counseling, according to investigative reports circulated among federal law enforcement officials…

…His last effort to get the attention of military investigators came on Nov. 2, three days before his alleged shooting spree, according to the reports.

Colonel Anthony Febbo at Fort Hood reportedly told investigators he was twice contacted by Hasan, on Nov. 2 and a week earlier in October, about the question of whether he could legally provide information on “war crimes” he had learned in the course of psychiatric counseling he provided soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Col. Febbo told ABC News he could not comment because of the on-going investigation.

His supervisor in the Department of Psychiatry, Captain Naomi Surman, told investigators that Hasan raised similar issues with her in conversations in October, according to documents reviewed by ABC News.

Captain Surman told investigators that Hasan had formally contacted military prosecutors to report patients he was evaluating, according to people briefed on the exchange. She said Hasan signed his e-mails with “Praise Be to Allah.”

Captain Surman, who was scheduled to be deployed to Afghanistan with Hasan on Nov. 2 told investigators that Hasan had both social and academic issues in his medical training. She said that on one occasion, Hasan told her she was an infidel who would be “ripped to shreds” and “burn in hell” because she was not Muslim.

An Army spokesperson contacted by ABC News declined to discuss Hasan’s possible motives for the massacre.

Shhhhh.

    But … but … but …. isn’t saying “Praise be to Allah” on all of his emails just the same thing as a devout Christian saying “God bless?”

    Isn’t the devout religious fundamentalism of Muslims just the same thing as the devout religious fundamentalism of Christians?

    I mean, so what if Jesus was a nice guy who preached a message of love and forgiveness and who let himself be crucified while Islam’s Prophet of Allah ordered the mass slaughter of men, women and children? Aren’t they still ‘just the same?’

    If that comment had not been made infromationally, as in, “You know, some loony dangerous muslims believe that you should be,”….”;
    but rather had been made sincerely, clearly showing that he believed what he was saying;
    then perhaps he deserved having the Captain give him…oh, I don’t know; maybe a tire iron to the face?

    Massacre? Major Hasan responding to the taunts and harassment can at least now be called a massacre? Are we sure the Departments of Defense and Justice won’t be calling this self-defense?

    Former Sgt. Asan Akbar lives, Captain Christopher Scott Seifert is dead.

    But let us not rush to judgment. There are plenty of young Americans for the jihadist to kill so lets celebrate diversity.

    How could this woman not immediately petition her superiors to get this guy off the line? What a whackjob! It seems, for all the success and nobility of the military, that the chain of command can be just as bad as their political masters at times. And like Congress, the top brass will close ranks to cover their tails. Likely some colonels or a lt. general will be ruined and sacked.

    On Nov. 4, the day after his last attempt to raise the issue, he took extra target practice at Stan’s shooting range in nearby Florence, Texas and then closed a safe deposit box he had at a Bank of America branch in Killeen, according to the reports. A bank employee told investigators Hasan appeared nervous and said, “You’ll never see me again.”

    Speaking of terrorism and Obama, I wonder how far Obama will go to get a conviction of KSM in NY? It has been discussed that our intelligence gathering methods will be revealed (like the 93 WTC trial), but what about the information garnered from foreign intel services? I wonder how the Eurpoeans and Israelis will feel about Obama when he has Holder use the intel they shared with us, thus outing their gathering techniques, to get a conviction.

    The answer is simple…it’s called the Army allowed itself to become an experimental laboratory for diversity and feminization. The breakdown of its integrity was a long time making. I mean, how many Chiefs of Staff generals can you come up with who sounds more like John Effing Kerry than George S. Patton?

    The US Army is in a bad state today, but that has been a 25-year process. Only now have we got the perfect Commander-in-Chief for that liberalized, fully diversified and politicized organization.

    If that is true, it stinks to high heaven. Hasan’s behavior made it clear that he was against the wars and saw them as a fight against Islam. How could our military continue to subject troubled soldiers to that kind of harrassment as a “reward” for their service?

    Can you imagine them allowing a Christian doctor to continue to practice if he pushed to have his patients who were Muslim soldiers prosecuted as terrorists. The first time he tried would be his last (even if he turned out to be right.)

    Political Correctness has become so pervasive that many in the media were wishing that the Fort Hood shooter had not been Muslim — like it was just an odd coincidence. It’s as if they would have been overjoyed if the shooter had turned out to be Christian.

    Why did it have to be a Muslim?” is the question they keep asking. These people are ignoring or even rewriting history, and if they continue down that path, we are doomed to repeat it — over and over.
