All the Demcare tax hikes from A to Z — plus SEIU’s takeover thesaurus
Check out the list of Demcare tax hikes here, tell everyone you know, and melt the phones.
Harry Reid has scheduled the first Senate test vote for Saturday night.
Plus: LaborPains.org has obtained the SEIU internal playbook on what words to use (and to avoid) when pushing the government health care takeover.
Sample of words to avoid:
Don’t: “Free.”
Do: “Sliding scale.”
Don’t: “Medicare for all.”
Do: “A choice of public and private plans.”
Don’t: “Universal health care.”
Do: “Quality affordable health care.”
The White House masters of double-speak give the Big Labor thesaurus two thumbs up.

I called Blanche Lincoln today. Got through to her voice mail once. The last time I called her mailbox was full.
I also sent several e-mails. I hope she loses her re-election bid no matter how she votes on health care.
Socialism at its best. Why can’t we all be congressmen and get free health care?
The first link provides a far more effective arguement against the proposed healthcare reform bill than the vitriolic hyperbole that has happened to this point. We are Americans and everything comes down to dollars and cents. We are always going to want more for less. Heck, we are capitalists and we will buy from China and Japan when the price is lower.
Yep, take the healthcare reform bill to task, but do it over the facts. Do it over costs. And, not speculation about the motives and mischaracterizations of the principals.
There are going to be premiums and we are going to have to pay them. Finaly we have some data as to how much they will be. Only one question, that has yet to be asked, do you want to pay them?
Yep, down the road this healthcare reform bill may lead to single payer. It might lead to rationing. It could lead to the elimination of private insurance insurance companies. Yet, the bottomline that impacts everyone is the costs.
For goodness sakes advance the arguement of costs. We are capitalists and money talks, everything else walks.
I assume this tax only applies to private health insurers. The government option that is supposed to lower costs by providing “competition” for private insurers will be subsidized by this and other taxes, creating an uneven playing field. Fair competition my foot!
If the government option needs this subsidy to be competitive, it will not lower costs. It will only raise costs because the tax will have to be passed on to consumers in the form of higher premiums. So there is no way you can keep the plan you have without paying more.
Obama promised we could keep our plan as is, if we liked it. He also promised to stem the rising costs of healthcare and not raise a dime of taxes on anyone but the wealthy. If this bill passes, that’s three strikes and Obama’s out-a-here!
They’ll make it so that people won’t be able to afford private health insurers anymore when the private companies (Kaiser for me) have to raise rates in order to pay the government.
The government goal IS universal health care. Period.
Here are 4 senators who’ve indicated they can be swayed, whether because of abortion or the public option:
Senator Mary Landrieu, Louisiana
Phone: (202) 224-5824
Fax: (202) 224-9735
Senator Ben Nelson, Nebraska
Phone: (202) 224-6551
Fax: (202) 228-0012
Senator Evan Bayh, Indiana
Phone: (202) 224-5623
Fax: (202) 228-1377
Senator Blanche Lincoln, Arkansas
Phone: (202) 224-4843
Fax: (202) 228-1371
Let’s get to work. We’ve got a country to save.
Universal Health Care will give government so much power over our lives that laws, elections and the Constitution mean nothing. They can pass gun control, Cap and Trade, and variations of the Fairness Doctrine all by a medical panel decree bypassing congress and such consequences.
Quality and Cost are the least of our problems with this. This is a coup.
You haven’t been paying attention. That’s what opponents of Obamacare have been protesting against. We know it’s going to be expensive (everything the Fed Gov’t does is expensive) and we don’t believe it’s going to be worth what it’ll cost.
I have read that the taxes start immediately but the costs do not begin until 2013 when the plan is in place. Does anyone know if this is correct?
Drudge is reporting a $100 million payoff in the bill for Louisiana to get Mary Landrieu’s vote. Commies all.
There is no way that what Congress says they want to do will actually lower the costs. So what is that they really want to do? Tax and control! If this passed, the first act of the 2010 Congress should be to repeal it.
Forget Mary Landrieu, she’s been bought off.
Get ready for the purple shirts of SEIU to start dogging Sarah Palin on her book tour and intimidating the right wing radicals who are lining up. Those people are going to need health care once those thugs get done.
On a positive note, Sarah is heading for those rural/suburban places where gun rights advocates carry and have concealed carry permits.
At an impressive number even by Luzian standards. Congressman William J-Cold Cash- Jefferson was a piker.
I thought this was a HC bill why is the first paragragh giving credit to first time home buyers of armed forces and other federal employees????????
I had a meeting w/Steve Lonegan yesterday @ AFP (Americans For Prosperity) HQ.
We are getting to the politicians. Tell your friends and your family we need to
keep calling & faxing. We are over loading their VM and fax machines are
running out of paper. When this happens their chiefs of staff have o document
all faxes and phone calls that come in and it takes a couple of hours to do
this. They’re getting pissed because now they have to answer us and document
everything.
So keep up the good work!
no wonder this turkey is deficit neutral. 6 years of coverage, 10 years of taxes. let’s be semi honest, and compare 10 years of taxes and 10 years of coverage. surely computers can do that, eh cbo.
Can anyone explain this too me? I don’t get it…..is the $8500/$23000 the annual premium of the plan or ???
>>Excise Tax on Comprehensive Health Insurance Plans (Page 1979/Sec. 9001/$149.1 bil): Starting in 2013, new 40 percent excise tax on “Cadillac” health insurance plans ($8500 single/$23,000 family). Higher threshold ($9850 single/$26,000 family) for early retirees and high-risk professions. CPI +1 percentage point indexed.<<
plagerizing from Obama “Just Words”
As I read it, that would be the premiums on your private plan. If you’re paying more than that, you’d pay a tax on the amount above. Wouldn’t seem to make much difference, because they’d force you onto the gov’t plan sooner or later.
(bodice ripping rhetoric alert!)
Yeah but for that price you get her in a see through teddy and six inch stillettos!
So, they are going to collect “health-care” taxes up front, years before the plans take effect. Being Congress, they will, of course, have already spent all this money immediately.
Oh, yeah, this will work.
If the democrats really were concerned over the citizens, we would be arguing foodcare, not health care. People need food more than health insurance. But, we all know this is a move to obtain power by demonizing an industry that people know very little about. People know much more about food, and it’s harder to demonize the local grocery store than Blue Cross. Besides, there is more profit for the politicians, and, if what and how they regulate food ever got out, people would be outraged; for example, the destruction of food to keep prices up. Power, it’s all about power, plus you can hide the planned tax increases better in healthcare, than in the local food market.
If they were really concerned they would abide by the constitution and start weaning people off of entitlements!
Most misinformed people believe that the core of rights contained therein is in the Bill of Rights, the real core of rights is Article I, Section 8, the powers of Congress which, when coupled with the 10th Amendment, essentially says that the Federal government cannot do anything unless it is on that list, or covered by an Amendment (such as the income tax, covered by the 16th Amendment). So, unconstitutional are:
Social Security
Medicare
Medicaid
Food Stamps
Public Housing
Welfare programs
EPA/environmental regulations
OSHA/workplace safety regulations
Wagner Act (forced negotiations with unions)
Minimum wage
Child labor laws
Product liability laws
Anti-discrimination laws (at least by non-government entities)
And I could go on…
If the democrat party had any interest in enforcing the Constitution, they would demand every one of these be eliminated immediately, period. Fat chance.
watch this GB vid…pay attention to the taxes at the about the 3:10 part…wow…the health care portion doesn’t kick in for a year or two but these taxes are almost immediate…health care my butt….

Doublespeak. Remember that this term came from Orwell’s 1984. For all their self-serving disingenuous shrieking against the tyranny of “The Right”, history has shown the Left is guilty of 80% of the aggregious crimes against Earth and humanity – pollution as well as slavery and genocide. They really need to shut their ignorant pie-holes.
There has been far more conversation of the total cost to the nation and about the price to our grandchildren. Well, that is certainly true . . . and, amorphus.
The conversation has greater impact when the specific costs to the individual’s own wallet is brought into the equation. That is what the chart from the link does.
When the healtcare reform discussion becomes personal, using facts not fear, it becomes more effective.
Which Constitution? Their constitution which states that they can do anything they want, per “promote the general welfare” and that “lives and breathes”, or the FF Constitution which, by the 10th amendment disallows their whole socialist policies? Most people in the country have never read the Constitution or understand it, at all; many congressmen, for that matter. Their whole idea is the 1st and 2nd amendments; thrown at them, every day, while condemning them.

More than half of the American People do not pay attention to politics. They do not watch conservative T.V. News–Fox TV, talk radio, Internet sites like this one. They are too busy working, caring for their families, etc. And GREAT OBAMA CARE FOR FREE sounds O.K. to them. Just tax the rich–not us–to pay for it.
***
However, when the President Bush 43 tax cuts “sunset”, your doctor no longer accepts Medicare, you do your 2010, 2011, and 2012 taxes and see how much more everyone is paying–ALL WILL WAKE UP! Ditto for when you get your first paycheck stub with additional taxes taken out–you have just been promoted into being rich!

Smooth words and lies will no longer work when the S**T HITS THE FAN! Voter Tsunami coming soon.

This abominable HC Bill is just part of Herr BHO’s and his handlers blietzkreig strategy to take control and change this country as we know it. The groundwork was laid out with FDR’s New Deal, and reinforced by the policy’s of Johnson, Carter and Clinton; government dependency through the Welfare Program, brainwashing of future generations through the nation’s Education system, the Department of Energy, EPA and weakening the military and intelligence community through budget cuts and reduction of forces.
Now add BHO’s take over of the financial industry, bank and insurance companies, transportation ; GM & Chrysler bailouts, Cap & Trade, and Health Care and voila, BOH just accomplished his agenda and goal “change the make-up of the country – from a republic with democratic representation to Marxism/Socialism, Communism or whatever “ism” type of government.
Not quite a total control, but wait, just under the radar screen is BHO’s plan of controlling mass communication and putting a muzzle on his critics and opponents, under the guise of “diversity”, “immigration reform” by providing an easier path to citizenship for the 11 million illegals whose votes are integral in maintaining a quasi-representative and democratic government, and control of the nations’ labor resources through the passage of the proposed “card check” bill endorsed by his labor union cohorts (SEIU) and the end result is TOTAL CONTROL and the drastic change in the American Way of Life as we now know.
Government control of the nation’s Educational System + Energy Industry + Transportation Industry + Banking and Financial Institutions + Health Care Industry + Communication Industry + Nation’s workforce + a weakened military and hampered Intelligence Community + Welfare state = TOTAL CONTROL AND LOSS OF INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM.
THE WORST IS YET TO COME AND ACTUALLY STARTED. The Judicial Branch and the Federal Court System, the bastion that protects and preserve our individual rights, freedom and liberty is slowly changing right before our eyes. The recent appointment of SCJ Sotomayor and Federal Courts of Appeals of Judge Hamilton is just the beggining. The separate but equal branches of government; Executive Branch, Legislative Branch and Judicial Branch will be under the control of one political party, and it’s SCARY!
It’s high noon for freedom lovers to stand up and defend our individual freedom and liberty – FIRE THE SCOUNDRELS AND THEIVES IN CONGRESS BY VOTING THEM OUT OF OFFICE IN 2010.
The next and future generations of Americans way of life is in our hands and let us not fail them or else they’ll blame us for doing nothing!
Good point! But, the true core of liberty stands in the Declaration of Independence which, congress is in complete violation of liberty!
If all this comes true, as the liberals wish, the economy and business will become stagnated. It always does under government control. Why invest when there isn’t any incentive? Why should I expand my business when there isn’t any profit for me? Businesses won’t be able to pay the wages set down by government (check Hoover) so people will be laid off. Shortages will be the norm as businesses can’t ship their goods, based on silly regulations and government control. No more “American dream” and no more striving to better oneself, because there isn’t any incentive.
By now, most independent/moderate voters have caught on to the Democrats game – destroy the country’s economy to such a degree that we will ALL be dependent on the government. I just hope a few registered Democrats are also figuring this out, but I;m not holding my breath.
once the economy is tanked and people are out of work on a much larger scale just where do they think the $$$ will come?? oh that’s right print more of what will be a completely worthless currency…
