It’s official: Atlantic magazine blogger suffers Palin-Induced Psychosis

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 19, 2009 11:56 AM

We’ve had Bush Derangement Syndrome. Cheney Derangement Syndrome. Female Conservative Derangement Syndrome. And Palin Derangement Syndrome.

But this week, the blogging world saw the first definitive case of Palin-Induced Psychosis suffered by the Atlantic magazine’s Andrew Sullivan.

It’s not a pretty sight.

Watch him completely unravel here and here.

Jules Crittenden provides a road map to Crazytown.

The meltdown has been a long time coming. Sullivan’s own staff knows it. The entire blogosphere has known it.

Perhaps the publisher and editors of the august Atlantic magazine should consider giving the man an extended sick leave.

Or at least some Zyprexa.

Just an awful lot of weak sister types are going off the deep end bashing Governor Palin. Some of them quote things in the Governor’s book that are not in the authorized copy; is there a special Deeply Disturbed Person version available only to the DDPs (DiP)?

But they attack her primarily for one reason-fear. I have heard that more than just a few of the Pro Abortion Feminist HATE the Governor for not aborting Trig-the baby with Down syndrome. That tells us a lot about the Left such as Andrew Sullivan aka DDP (DiP) Sullivan.

It seems to me she is for the right, what Obama is for the left.

Both say what others want to hear, but in the end, each lack experience in running anything.

She has been a small town mayor, city counsel member, etc. But it’s just not enough for me to put someone with little experience, at the Top of a Ticket to run the largest corporation in the world: The U.S. Government.

We have that now, how that going for you?

Additionally, the U.S. Government was never suppose to be the largest employer in the world. How does she plan to get us back to a Republic that follows the constitution? I have no idea.

Andy may be off his meds, but this is retarded. Sarah Palin has only the most casual acquaintance with anything remotely like “the truth,” which is why when she threatened to sue him for libel, she had to back down. What he’s reporting on is factually demonstrable; what she says is… usually not. She was Governor of the State of Alaska. Being a governor does not give you instant experience to be president. However, it carries much more weight, with the intelligent people, than does being a US Senator. (And only being a US Senator or 140+ days before deciding on running for president.)

The reason a governor is better than a senator is due to the knowledge needed to run an entire state government. The only thing a senator has done is…well, nothing. Look at Kerry and Obama. Both brain-dead socialists. Both, US Senators.

Shhh… don’t disturb him with direct questions which get to the root of the innuendo. Palin said she considered a libel lawsuit. OMU apparently believes that a concerned mother should be denied even considering action to address false claims made about her daughter without making it into some sort of twisted example of dishonesty. (Yes, yes, Andrew disguised his assertions as “questions”, but who does Andrew really think he’s kidding with that defense? )

Instead, OMU would rather speak vaguely about “facts” while ignoring the fact that he’s making his own inductive leaps about the situation and declaring those opinions as facts. Sounds much like his mentor’s MO.

I question the intellectual honesty of defending a guy he claims in the first sentence is “off his meds”. By his own admission, he’d rather defend someone that is crazy by his own standard than see any point in Palin’s being irritated by Sullivan’s coy accusations about Trig’s birth mother.

The whole comment was little more than a vehicle for him to slide his ad hominem attack against his personal and narrow view of conservatives.

No, she didn’t. I have it on good authority that Sara Palin’s uncle’s, cousin’s, aunt’s, father’s, nephew’s, neice was taken to a secret, under-ground laboratory at Area 51 by George Bush.
There, one of the 100 Adolf Hitler clones made by George Bush combined DNA from aliens, bigfoot, and little Johnny from down the street.
This DNA mix was impregated in the niece and, thus, Trig Palin was born.

    I know because MY uncle’s, cousin’s, aunt’s, father’s, nephew’s, neice told me.

Being a chief executive of a state provides similar experience to being chief executive of a country. As others have noted, being part of the legislature is not typically compatible experience. It is likely why we seem to have a chief legislator now instead of a chief executive. Obama is still more concerned about writing law than in managing Afghanistan.

I believe character, morals, honesty, and courage trump political “experience”.

Great. I agree with you. However, how do you know the individual has these qualities? The reasonable person looks at a candidate’s actions taken while shouldering similar responsibility.

I believe most of us here agree that career politicians are not, in general, good for our republic. However, you seem to drift between either stating that Palin’s experience as governor is irrelevant or indirectly comparing her to career legislators. That appears to be contradictory.

    That sounds about right.

There’s just something about Sarah that makes people project their pathologies on her. Andrew Sullivan calls her deranged. Ana Marie Cox calls her a shallow attention whore. Larry O’Donnell calls her loud and stupid. Pathetic left-wing trolls who post comments from their parents’ basements mock her alleged stupidity and lack of accomplishments. I half expect Rosie O’Donnell to call her a fat bull-dyke any day now.

For every bit of “science” you want to hang your hat on as “proof”, there will be assumptions. For a moment, pretend those assumptions are wrong. Do you still have a proof?

No, you are speaking about those whom you perceive to be her base. It’s yet another ad hominem designed to try and discredit the individual by painting an inaccurate portrayal of the people that like her.

You also seem to have completely avoided AlohaGuy’s question in favor of railing against everyone who might support Palin’s defense of Andrew Sullivan’s absurd posturing regarding Trig Palin’s birth.

    Here is a taste:

    Dial ‘M’ For Maternity
Excerpts from the new Mike Loads gyno-mystery by Andrew Sullivan

    *****

Nine months is a lot of time. Enough time to rehab a darling vacation bungalow on Cape Cod. Enough time for a whirlwind romance with the contractor. The birds ‘n’ bees boys down at the OB/GYN lab claim that’s how long it takes to hatch a baby. But in my line of work you learn it’s also plenty enough time to hatch a plot — maybe the single biggest stinking political gestation coverup plot ever to hit P-town.
My name is Loads. To me, everything is a mystery.

I was working the night shift at the Atlantic blog division, typing up my final report on the Khalid Sheik Mohammed torture case (Mike Loads #11, “The Waterboarders”). That’s when he walked in.

My eyes scanned the 5-foot-10 slab of man candy framed in my office doorway, the neon light from the venetian blinds slashing diagonally across that tailored acre of double-breasted charcoal. He took a step forward and removed his fedora, revealing a jet black pompadour glistening with high-dollar salon gel product. He was toting a shopping bag from the P-town Chocolate Shoppe.

    “You Inspector Loads?”

I continued sizing up the jake. He had too much fashion sense to be a thug from the Christianist syndicate… but something in the way he minced throbbed with danger. This wasn’t the kind of boy you took home to your overbearing mother. I could tell that underneath that $20 suit was a chest like a bear rug and a pair of voluptuous white marble glutes straight from a Greek statue.

“Yeah, I’m Mike Loads. Who wants to know?”

“Let’s just say I was sent by a friend. Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?”

“Actually it’s a chew treat for my beagle. Fetch, Madonna!”

While the stranger was distracted by Madonna chasing the oversized rawhide bone, I pulled the adorable Ruger .22 I keep stowed in my sock garter. I swung around and trained it on his beady sparkling baby blues.

“No sweetheart. I keep my gun… right here.”

He raised his mitts nonchalantly and his pert mouth slowly worked into a sly smile.

“Hey, take it easy with that heater, handsome. I just thought you and I could have a little… friendly chit chat.”

“If it’s all the same to you, I’ll keep my thumb on the hammer. It’s not everyday a stranger drops by my office packing fudge.”

“This assortment from the Chocolate Shoppe? Try some, Loads. It’s divine.”

“Slide a couple of those truffles across the desk nice and slow, pally. Then start making with the banter.”

“Whatever you say, Loads. Suppose we start with a little story about a certain baby-snatching dame named Palin.”

This is just too great. There is more at the link, this was just the opener.

    Iowahawk rules!

Jesus, get over yourself. Really, do.

Your link is a joke (and yes I checked it out). All these lies this freakin’ twisted psycho of a liberal like Sullivan asserted are based on his own PERSONAL POINT OF VIEW. Where is the EVIDENCE? JD was asking for EVIDENCE. Now pony up.

Are you the best that the Left can do for great thinkers? You march in lock step with other Obamites to create your new social welfare utopia since it’s working out so well for Europe right now. If Europe can go over the cliff and sell off pieces of itself like the UK is currently doing, so can the US right?

Listen, you douche, we know you don’t like Sarah Palin or those who like her, including those like myself who has multiple degrees, been overseas, married to a military member, and can think for myself. I’m not the average Sarah Palin supporter that you portray. You, and other liberals, like to generalize the Right and Conservatives when they don’t measure up to Beltway insider types like David Brooks, who is not a conservative and never has been.

You really need to check your self-delusion because it’s just coming out of your pores. Really, the many liberals I have met in my life, including my own graduate advisor and brother-in-law, have always come off to me as the most self-righteous, hypocritical, condescending POS’s on the face of the planet. You should know… you’re exhibiting all the signs.

Liberals or Progressives or Socialists or Communists or whatever they’re calling themselves this decade like to institute policies that they themselves don’t enjoy. They want as much control over people’s lives as possible because heaven forbid the people of this country have an original thought. No, no… we must not do that.

    Why is that?
