The original Louisiana Purchase cost $15 Million and gave America all of the land drained by the Mississippi River. This Louisiana Purchase will cost us $300 Million in funds for Louisiana, 1/6th of our economy, all of our health care, and put us on the road to Communism.

This Louisiana Purchase is a bad deal and Mary Landrieu (along with everyone else that voted for cloture) should be tarred and feathered.

I agree. I think they should really make Ted happy by killing the bill and burying it with him. And if the devil has any sense of humor, he will make Ted read the bill all the way from beginning to end, or until the end of eternity, whichever comes first.

Dittos to Major O.

The attention span of conservatives is NIL. Yeah the tea parties were cool and so was the big march, but no one has the gumption for a sustained massive protest and no one has the guts to revolt. Conservative leadership is busy enriching themselves playing the game, but I hate to tell ya, books, tea parties, blogs, and Fox News is not going to be enough to change anything.

While the left has had a slow methodical plan to forward its agenda over the past fifty years, Conservatives have spent those same five decades whining, complaining, exposing hypocrisy, and playing by "the rules." No planning, no commitment, no long term strategy, no nothing. That's what gave use Compassionate Conservatism, and sissy weenies like Trent Lot, Bob Dole, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, etc, etc.

This is our own fault. Meanwhile Conservative "leadership" gets rich off the backs of Conservative fools who think that there is a Conservative politician who will actually do something to take our country back.

We need a revolution to install a Constitutional government in the USA. We need millions of people to band together to get the job done. Will it ever happen? Of course not.

I'm not trying to dump more cold water on folks' enthusiasm, but I've been saying this for years. Rush and Hugh Hewitt always go on about the "American people" not accepting this or that from the Left. "Middle America" is "waking up" etc., etc. Yet, to date, I have not been wrong once about the march of the Left. The "average" American is asleep or in the grip of an Oprah-induced coma.

The reason the Left continues on is because the gains of the conservative viewpoint are always superficial since we've let the liberal control all the levers of cultural change: academia/education (including K-12), the Arts, the public media and even Washington culture. Speaking of Washington culture, you ever notice that the political entropy of that place works such that you have to fight to be and stay conservative but you never have to fight to stay liberal?

It's the inevitable result when even conservatives hand over their children to the government schools (they need "socialization" don't ya know?), send their kids to ultra-liberal colleges, and let their families soak in hours of media and news that all militate against their beliefs. What else would you expect to happen?

The Tea Parties were just a tickle and a passing interest. If we really want to make a difference, we have to make the Tea Party attendance look like insignificant by regularly conducting, traffic-stopping, unmistakably huge gatherings. We have to completely STOP patronizing places that support the left (like Pepsi and Google) and we have to make a sustained effort to educate our families about the founding documents of this country and WHY they speak as they do. This needs to happen continuously from now through election time as we speak out as if the future of this country is at stake--because it IS.

Oh and put a stake through the heart of choosing "electable" candidates. You MAKE someone electable by your support. Dn't believe me? Just ask yourself who had even heard of Obama 5 years ago. Choose principled people over old-standbys and "known" Washington faces.

The way things are going, the Republicans and Democrats are going to be forcing us to call these things "incentives" instead of bribes before long.

Whining and moaning, but no action from conservitives, no surprise, and those of you hoping for 2010 to change crap, don't count on it.

One they are polititions, two redrawn voting districts will see to it liberal majority area's will continue to have say, three Obama, As long as he's in office even IF half the senate (which is not up for grabs) changes hands he still has power of Veto to ensure his legislation currently passed or in next year stays. Once 2012 is here everyone will be used to it enough to just go "meh" to conservitives.

After all leftist have been protesting for YEARS over Iraq with no results, and its not as the war is popular that they have failed. What made us think our tea parties would be different?

And lastly too many are depended on the goverment, from those who are in favor of it, to those on this site that is oppossed to it. You will never be more than an annoyance as you dare not fight.

i've lost faith in America, in the Republic, and in the People. May god be merciful, or may the Chinese, the system never changes. And now I weep the passing of America.

invocation of Teddy Kennedy.

That in of itself spells corruption.

Today's Democrat Senators are modern day sacrificial lambs. Matters not if their re-election bids are on the line, just so long as a tool is installed to rule over the people and further bloat government.
