Carly Fiorina channels Dede Scozzafava, wields race/gender card against conservative rival

Grass-roots conservatives, your attention, please: The NRCC and GOP dumped $1 million of your hard-earned money into radical Leftist Republican Dede Scozzafava’s NY-23′s campaign — money that was squandered trashing mainstream conservative candidate Doug Hoffman, who lost the race by less than 3,400 votes.
Now, the GOP elite Senate candidate in California, Carly Fiorina, is running against Democrat Barbara Boxer by…trashing mainstream conservative GOP rival Chuck DeVore.
Fiorina’s strongest argument against DeVore? He’s a white man and she’s not.
Asked why she is a better candidate than her Republican primary opponent Assemblyman Chuck DeVore (R-Calif.), Fiorina said that a woman stands a better chance of defeating Boxer.
“I have nothing against white men, I am married to one,” Fiorina said at a breakfast at Americans for Tax Reform. “But Barbara Boxer has defeated [them] over and over again.”
Political observers with long memories should remind Fiorina how Boxer engineered GOP defeat. Bruce Herschensohn, the Republican candidate in 1992, was a staunch and unapologetic conservative talk show host who came within 5 points of beating the San Francisco liberal. Desperate to ensure Boxer’s victory, dirty Dem operatives launched a last-minute smear campaign by shouting about strip clubs.
Herschensohn’s skin color and chromosomes had nothing to do with Boxer’s win.
In keeping with Fiorina’s identity politics-driven campaign, she also said today that even though she didn’t follow the nomination closely, she would have voted to confirm Obama SCOTUS pick Sonia Sotomayor.
An Obama echo, not a choice.

Today’s rejected RNC solicitation form of the day comes from reader Genene H:

And from reader Stephen:
I just wanted you to know that the Republican Party called me for the 3rd time in a week. I finally decided to answer and give them a piece of my mind. They wanted money immediately for some rallies at college campuses to oppose Obama’s policies and cited the leadership of Newt Gingrich. I said I was disappointed in Gingrich, and that his support of candidates like Dede Scozzafava in New York, who supported the stimulus bill, union check card, was pro-choice, and pro gay marriage, was too much for me. The guy tried to argue that Scozzafava had gotten a bad rap and had tried to lower taxes and agreed with Republicans on many things, to which I responded that she voted more liberally than 46 other Democrats in NY government! Then I said, her support of Owens after she withdrew from the race kind of confirmed what I thought all along. I left by telling him I would support individual conservative candidates, like Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania, but that I would not give money to the Republican party to support candidates like Scozzafava. Thanks for all your great work.

Ah, those race baiting, white guilt liberals. Just cannot help themselves by pandering to minorities. White (conservative) men…we’re just so evil.
Michael Steele to the donation courtesy phone please… Michael Steele, donation phone.
Why has everyone forgotten Reagan’s 11th commandment: Thou shalt not speak ill of your fellow Republican?
It is unfortunate that Fiorina views the race in terms of chromosones. I’d like to believe that she has more to back up her candidacy, and offer, than her gender.
There is nothing wrong with taking your opponent to task, though I prefer that it be substantiative and factual.
Ya know,
I may have to join the Republican party again so I can start getting those donation requests in the mail.
I would love nothing more than to laugh in their faces as I send back the EMPTY requests with some of my own writing on it.
Just to clarify, I agree with the above. There’s no reason for personal attacks, or bringing race or gender into the fight. Spirited debate on policy positions should rule the day.
Carly Fiorina can do for Kalifornia and America what she did for Hewlett-Packard except Kalifornia and America are pretty much in the same shape as Hewlett-Packard.
Carly Fiorina spent billions Hewlett-Packard did not have on things they did not need. She should fit right in that Most Deliberative Body of Jerks. As Kalifornia can not do ANYTHING right Sonia Sotomayor of Wise Latina shame will be pleased. At least the stock holders of Hewlett-Packard are rid of her.
Better DeVore than the horror (thought I would clean it up a tad). Or it that HorrorS plural?
I saw her on Fox over the weekend. With her “new doo” she looks like a space alien. What’s that all about.
The elites sure can pick them.
Just the clones of Gerald Ford Dexter -they do not count. Besides, I owned HP stock
I am not for Carly. She didn’t seem Conservative, especially working for McCain in his campaign. I heard Chuck DeVore speak and heard his credentials. I like what I heard. I even have his Bounce Boxer bumper sticker on my car.
I heard Dick Morris say 2 weeks ago or more Barbara has some competition and could lose. Let’s get behind a Conservative and not another plastic banana, good time Rock and Roller. I don’t think Carly makes the cut, so let’s cut Carly from the pack.
Another RINO from the GOP elites, the Bob Michel, Bob Dole Go-Along, Get Along Gang.
There is nothing wrong with what Fiorina said about a woman having a better chance to defeat Boxer. It is true. There is never anything wrong with telling the truth.
It’s not Fiorina’s fault most Californians are such insipid jackasses.
On the other hand, anyone who would have voted to confirm Sotomayor isn’t fit to be in the Senate. Anyone would be better than Boxer, of course, but it would be nice for once to be able to vote for someone who isn’t unfit for the office.
Breast cancer. She’s a fighter. That’s a plus. Now if she was just a conservative ……
My bad. I did not know. She was an excellent CEO at HP.
With these candidates with no voting record it is really a roll of the dice….
File under Psycho Beeotch Harpy.
I just want Boxer gone.
Sorry, I’m going to wait until all the test results are in.
Carly is smart and qualified (far more so than Boxer) but definitely not a conservative. As my dad would have said “Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.” But just barely…..
So, she’s not a better candidate because she’s smarter, supports Conservative positions, or anything. She’s better because she has ESTROGEN???
Well, in that case, why do RINO’s hate Sarah Palin so much???
don’t forget spinless twits for allowing the State to turn into an illegal alien haven…one more reason over 75 hospitals have closed and the State wastes billions caring and feeding the freeloaders…
BTW, that picture is hilarious. Time for another caption contest!
“It depends on what the definition of “men” is”.
Matt Fong is a White Guy? Who knew?
Thank you.
Fiorina nearly destroyed HP by not emphasizing the making good products after the joke of a merger with Compaq. She’s a showgirl, not someone you’d take seriously as a politician. Why on earth Californians are behind her is beyond me.
Matt Fong was another RINO and guess what, Boxer beat him anyway.
I’m supporting DeVore in the primary; at least we get one. NY-23 had Scuzzyflava forced upon them. The problem is the “conventional wisdom” that real conservatives cannot win in California and you have to have a social liberal/RINO to be competitive. While even Fiorina would be a vast improvement over Boxer (heck, a drunken hobo who hasn’t had a bath in years would be a vast improvement), I think DeVore has what it takes to win and he’s the guy with the best ideas.

I must admit, I know nothing of Fiorina’s politics. I just remember that she was Pres of Hewlett-Packard and was eventually canned. Is that all she has to offer for a resume?
Whatthe? You work for Dell? I shall be so bold as to rephrase that to: She was and excellent CEO for Dell while at HP.
February 10, 2005: 9:15 AM EST
Shares of HP (Research) jumped 6.9 percent in heavy trading on the New York Stock Exchange Wednesday on the news Board removes Fiorina effective immediately. But at one point, the stock was up as much as 10.5 percent.
We paid the lass $21,000,000 to go away and it was worth every penny. Now if there is any truth to the rumor that she was born in Area 51 I do not know but her greeting “live long and prosper” always gave me the creeps.
you mean Carly ‘There is no job that is America’s God-given right anymore; Fiorina, that loser, and failure as head of HP?
yeah thats the person we need…right. she’s an arrogant elitist ‘let them eat cake’ type of person
Are democrats inserting their candidates to run as “republicans” and screw up the vote?
This is what should be happening everywhere. If conservatives learned nothing else from the candidacy of Johnny McScamnesty, we MUST have learned that the Republican Party is not a home for those who think as we do. If the Republicans put up a real conservative candidate, sure, we’ll go there; but otherwise the support goes to the Libertarian, Constitution, Conservative, Independent, or other candidate who reflects the viewpoint of the voter in question.
This is the only way to keep these criminals out of office, and if those among us who still hope to make the Republican Party conservative have a snowball’s chance in hell of succeeding to that end, this is the only thing that will bring about the defeat of those within that party that need to be defeated in order for conservatives to take it over.
In either case, the liberals must lose, or the memory of the America the Founders intended will fade into distant memory.
RWR

If that is the case, lets insert a whole bunch of “liberal” candidates to even things out. There should be a separate candidate for every liberal platform and lets see what issue will be more important to them.
Carly Fiorina is a failed chief executive and adviser to a failed political candidate (McCain), and she’s well on her way to becoming a failed political candidate. Hey, I want Boxer gone, but she’s not going to do it.
Please update Carly Fiorina’s stock press photo with her current salt & pepper butch lesbian haircut.
Ms Carleton (“Carly”) Fiorina is just the latest Assistant Democrat to emerge from the “Gangs of McCain”. And I second the motion to update her photo to show that dikey buzz cut she is sporting these days. Is she undergoing chemo therapy?
I think it’s next to impossible to elect a leader who could be content to let *us* run our own lives. My unfavorite Fiorina moment:
Ok, that sounds good, except in the very next breath she goes on to say,
I think it’s her campaign that needs to end.
Yes, Fiorina has been battling breast cancer for the last 8 months. I let her slide on the butch look for that reason.
Fiorina ruined Compaq and nearly took out HP in the process. Judging her on her business skills, I’d say not qualified.
Carly’s husband should be careful about spending time in her bed. I understand that once they consumate the mating process, she will bite his head off and leave her eggs on his carcass…
Wow, there’s nothing like invoking racism and sexism to field a P.C. candidate. GOP, what were you thinking???
She’ll never get my vote, for anything, anywhere…
Thanks for adding that. I was thinking the same.
God, it’s so depressing being a Republican in California. It’s not bad enough being surrounded by libtards on all sides. Now the state GOP’s idea of acceptable candidates are Fiorina and Whitman. I’m afraid that they have nothing relevant left to say to me.
Seriously, as CEO Carly Fiorina ran HP (the computer manufacturer) into the ground. Do we want her anywhere near a position of power?
She absolutely does.
However, most swing voters are too stupid, or won’t take the time, to understand anything more about her than her gender.
“Fiorina’s strongest argument against DeVore? He’s a white man and she’s not.”
guess it won’t bother her if no “white men” vote for her then.
How exactly is Fiorina supposed to be “better” than the idiot Boxer? What she did to Hewlett Packard shouldn’t have been done to ANY company, and I don’t see her bringing much to the table other than an overblown and quite unearned reputation as a “manager”. The only thing she managed was her own bottom line. I saw her in action and it wasn’t pretty. Of course, neither is Boxer.
I’m with you, fairy, I have never been impressed with Fiorina since she first showed up on the business pages.
Being a major McCain booster was certainly no honor. But leaving aside what a disaster McCain himself was, Fiorina was one of the most inept surrogates I have ever seen on the national stage. And it is my opinion that highly unreliable “Republicans” hurt the party more than they help. For one thing, the power of incumbency is so strong that that once elected a RINO ~owns~ the seat, as far as Republicans are concerned, thus foreclosing the possibility of filling it with a conservative until after it has been won back by the Dems and a conservative has a chance eventually to take it back. We are talking a lifetime, in politics.
And while you have the RINO in office, you are undermined by their presence. I saw over the weekend that Snowe had another big chat with Obama, assuring him that she wanted to find a way for health care to pass. We may be able to kill it with Lieberman and perhaps one or two other Dems. But then we could easily see a Snowe-led defection by some or our own RINOs to steal away the victory and paint the whole thing with a patina of “bipartisanship.” I’d rather stand strong with people who have at least a half-serious commitment to conservatism. I have zero interest in a Senator Fiorina, something that, given her ineptness, could never happen anyway. There are better places for conservatives to spend their money.
I just looked into DeVore a little more, and he does look like a very good candidate at this juncture. I will be keeping my eyes open to see what comes up, though. It would seem to me at this point that California would be doing itself a favor by electing this guy.

Another Carly–Simon–comes to mind. Remember her YOU’RE SO VAIN song?
***
I dealt with HP for 40 years as an engineer. Their company started “going down the tubes” when the “bean counters” took over from the 2 engineers who started this fine company. Some of their TechReps told me how this fine company was being “hollowed out” over the years.
***
Carly Fiorina looks like another Kalifornia RINO to me. Rich and playing the “Hispanic” and “female” cards yet. And she left HP “under a cloud” of criticism–and HP paid a real price to get her out of there.
***
How about finding a real conservative legislator (if they still exist in Kali) with a good track record and putting him / her in instead?

The Bush bashing began in earnest when Bush ran for reelection. If you recall, there were 11-15 Democratic candidates that had many televised debates. The Democrat candidates all agreed in advance to not attack each other but to attack GW Bush. Every debate was 11 Dems attacking Bush while praising themselves.
That was the beginning of the Democrat machinery painting Bush and labeling him as the worst President ever. Millions of Americans began to view him that way and stil do today. It was political collusion at its best.
John Kerry was just such a elite dufus and the Swiftvets got the truth about him out there so Bush won reelection but the seed was planted and resulted in Obamas victory last year.
Dems also began around that time to vote in block 100%. No one broke ranks unless allowed to. The minority had to do so to have any say.
Now look at Republicans behavior. Dede, Carly, Olympia, Lindsay. Aaargh.
Ignatius Reilly, I tend to instinctively follow your thinking:
`And it is my opinion that highly unreliable “Republicans” hurt the party more than they help. For one thing, the power of incumbency is so strong that that once elected a RINO ~owns~ the seat, as far as Republicans are concerned, thus foreclosing the possibility of filling it with a conservative until after it has been won back by the Dems and a conservative has a chance eventually to take it back. The thought of “Senator” Fiorina is like a cold slap in the face. She would be another Olympia Snowe. She is afraid to take a stand. I don’t know how she’s gotten as far as she has. These people that want to start at the top, Sheesh. Carly, run for School Board in South San Jose for the Evergreen Valley School District, then run for City Council. Let’s see you build some street cred. I want to SEE feet on the ground Conservative steps, hear Conservative Beliefs (not just words) coming from your face. You don’t deserve it now because you are a Cancer Survivor or a woman. That crap is for Democrats.
I was frustrated to tears over the last two weeks (WHAT are these Morons doing to my Country?) But now I am Hella- Angry. If I wouldn’t be up for Assault, I’d slap most of them and use Cher’s line in “Moonstruck”: `Snap out of it!’
if she is the RINO candidate, i will simply not vote for that office. in my mind, there is no perceptible difference between her and Boxer Shorts.
No More RINOS!
redc1c4:
Boxer shorts…snort. LOVE IT!
Indeed. Carly Fiorina, you are no Phyllis Schlafly.
*Carly is just like McCain on all the major issues, pure RINO, just not a white male RINO; I’ll check in to DeVore and if all is well, will send him some coin; Will do the same for Rubio in Florida; All the Dems must go, but it is just as important to primary out the RINO’s; J.D. Hayworth over McCain is a good one to get behind.
Jim DeMint’s Senate Conservatives Committee endorsed DeVore. The RNC endorsed Fiorina. The Tea Party supports DeVore. What does that say?
It says that the Republicans are following their usual path of foisting liberals upon the people of this country. Fiorina? You might as well have another term of Boxer.
RWR

The Republican Leadership in this State is sad.
They should have been out there in front of the camera’s this weekend, with all the spoiled brats taking over Cal State Univ offices, telling the media that it used to be OFF SHORE DRILLING IN CALIFORNIA PAID FOR THE FREE IN-STATE TUITION. What do you hear?
CRICKETS! Is Dolf Sundheim still in charge of the Calif Repub Party? What a Doof! Of course Carly is endorsed by them. Birds of a feather and all that.
Lessons in how to get the democrat elected. Put in a Rino vs a Conservative, therefore, a split vote again. What are they doing? Pushing for Dems???
fairyfoose, your kind comment was so reckless (grin) that I am too embarrassed to repeat it. But thank you.
That seems to be a pretty lame excuse for saying that she is channeling Dede Scozzafava. Stating a fact is not gender discrimination. It is true that White Men have been bashing up against a brick wall trying to unseat this Boxer person for several election cycles. I think you are going way to far in trying to succumb to the liberal desire to make America a suicide in the making in the form of Political Correctness.
I HAVE to do this:
..heard on Mark Levin’s program the end of last week, a female caller said she would be sending her Congress Critter a
GOOD LUCK IN RETIREMENT CARD! HAH! I have to send one to Boxer. That’s worth stopping by the card section. Send it to Bouncing Babs with the note: I will be working towards your retirement.
All commenters. It is extremely rude to refer to her by her last name only. Henceforth, she is to be identified as Senator Boxer. After all, she worked hard to earn that title.
/sarc
P.S. Bring back Dr. Evil!!!
Fiorina also helped run Lucent into the ground. I would’ve thought that her business record by itself would be enough to make her flee the country, but no. She wants to tank California once and for all.
Are you questioning those of us who want Reagan conservative candidates?
Or are you questioning why the parties elite, chosen by the GOP, are trashing Reagan conservatives like DeVore?
As a woman I am willing to say it would take an incredibly strange set of circumstances before I would vote for that creature Fiorina or support the party that nominated her in any way at all. Carly’s too gnarly for me.
And my divorce from a marriage of longer than Michelle has been alive with the Republican party is very close to complete. I’ve no interest in supporting a party that won’t even TRY to save our butts from the Marxists.
{^_^}
With one failure after another picking McCainanites, Rockefeller clones and Dead DeDes I really have to wonder what is going on in Brass Hat Land. The California Republican non leaders claim conservatives cost them California; how would they know that until they tried?
The Republican electorate will have the say: Gnarly Carly (thanks herself) or Chuck DeVore. The Brass Hats can support the Rockefeller clone but they can not force the electorate to vote for the Vulcaness.
But here in Arizona we work on the Stop McCain Express. I am of the group trying to push former Congressman JD Hayworth to run in the primary. Yes we wish to retire the Senator so he can be the Budweiser distributor for Saudi Arabia.
I am hereby proposing we form the Conservative White Male Caucus (CWMC). We’ll convene at Hooter’s every Friday night, advocate for free beer (public Option, of course). Liberal females will not be allowed to come near the CWMC during business hours.
So the Republican Establishment is just out to lunch?
I am Independent I will vote for a Conservative Candidate a RINO NO WAY.
The reason they won’t try is because Marxism is largely part of their objective as well.

For all of you Michael Steele conventional Republicans enthralled with having a token black leading the GOP, Carly is another of his bad choices. So Mikey? You STFU!
Carly Fiorina has been riding the coattails of affirmative action her whole life. She went from being a Kelley Girl right up the corporate ladder and looted every company she worked at including HP.
If you do not believe me, do a google and read about what her former co-workers had to say, not the PC correct wiki suck up bios on the net.
She is lucky she was not prosecuted at HP because she broke the law the whole time she was CEO.
Ask yourself, why she would want to be in politics unless of course she sealed her fate in the business world after she got paid off to resign from HP.My personal opinion is that she sees an opportunity to loot the taxpayers by getting elected to public office.(very few ever get prosecuted)
Living close to LA, I have to listen the constant radio ads she has on that say; “A word from Carly” How do you see it?
Frankly, the ads are disgusting, when did we start calling Politicians by their first names?
Is this the best the RNC can do?
IMHO-She is another Rockefeller, CFR/TriLateral Commission, NWO phony conservative.RINO does not come close to describing her and the fact she hooked up with McCain stinks up the place.
What would it sound like if someone said, “I have nothing against black men, but….”
I have stopped contributing also until the RNC drops “the liar” from its list of “friends”.
Does Tawana Brawley ring a bell?
