Here we go: World meddling in 9/11 show trials begins
That didn’t take long, did it?
A legal team is going to New York to prevent the use of evidence provided by Germany in seeking a death penalty. Berlin wants to ensure that promises made by the US are kept if the suspects are found guilty.
A team of observers from the German government is going to New York to oversee the trial of five suspects accused of orchestrating the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States, the news magazine Der Spiegel reported on Saturday.
The federal trial of the suspect Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his four co-defendants was announced on November 13 by the US Justice Department. The government also asserted that it intends to seek the death penalty if the accused are found guilty.
Germany, which does not have a death penalty, provided evidence for the trial on the condition that it could not be used to support a death sentence. Several members of the al Qaeda cell that planned and executed the attacks of September 11 were previously based in the northern German city of Hamburg.
“In this case we will observe very closely that the given assurances are kept,” Justice Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger said.

I guess we’re going to get to watch our Putz in Chief covert a case where the defendant has admitted his guilt to a comical farce that seems to be headed toward an aquittal. Of course, not to worry, Obama says he won’t release the defendants even if acquitted. Not htat he has to make any sense in his idiotic pronouncements.
We must hope and pray that real Americans effectively and relentlessly use this dangerous idiocy, that has been brought to us by domestic-enemy America-haters, to maximum advantage in upcoming elections; by loudly, clearly, ceaselessly identifying and defining its authors and its adherents/supporters/”fellow travelers”.
And who made these promises pray tell? It’s clear that this fiasco has been in the planning stages for some time. AG Holder is just the bag man.
If ever there was a man that needed killin’. His sentence should be carried out using Zyklon-B.

Is it because the Germans are so dangerous? You know, these dangerous guys who think executing thugs who mass murdered thousands of citizens shouldn’t be put to death?

There’s no reason to hope Obama fails. It’s a certainty. The only question is are there enough fools left to re-elect him.
Agreed but I don’t think enough people are aware of the danger just ahead. Too many are bopping along, singing The Won’s praises and thinking all is well. I fear for our future and our children’s.
Obama and Holder have really put themselves behind the 8 ball on this one. They are in a no win situation for themselves now. If they get the death penalty using the Germans evidence they will have effectively said screw you to Germany and the assurance they have given to the German government which will make co-operation on other foreign policy issues (such as Iran)almost impossible due to lack of trust. If they do not get the death penalty then all the claims that they have both made (Obama saying when the death penalty is carried out and Holder asying that failure to get the death penalty is not an option) political fodder to be used against them in the next election (if the trial is even over by then).
Who wants to bet now that KSM walks?
I had read a news brief about this very thing last week. From what I remember, the German government is concerned over BHO’s and Holder’s comments convicting KSM before there has been a trial.
Leave it up to the brain trust to muck things up.
This has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with “putting America on trial”. The death penalty has – for good and very obvious reasons – been abolished in Germany after the end of WWII. German agencies are by law prohibited to provide evidence to any foreign court if it is likely or even possible that the evidence will be used to effect a death penalty. According to the German Justice Departement, this has been made clear to the US authorities at a very early stage. The US side promised, that they would not seek the death penalty using evidence provided by Germany.
Since AG Holder has now made clear, that the death penalty is almost a certainty, it looks as if these assurances might not be kept. It is therefore absolutely normal that the German Justice Department sends someone to monitor the trial. Whoever interprets this as an “anti-american” stance is really missing the point.
Need some old West justice. Just take them out an hang them.

I have a feeling I am going to be saying that alot.
It’s a distraction technique. Here, look at the shiny jingling keys while we pick your pocket. Or pass health care. Or amnesty. This trial thing has got some serious mileage to it.
It is common for us to make an agreement not to pursue the death penalty when other nations are involed, especially when it concerns extradition. This happens more commonly when dealing with Mexico and Canada.
My hope is that the evidence Germany provides is not critical and not used to avoid having to use the agreement.
Reasons for U.S. Military in Germany:
1. It’s an excellent staging area for air and troop movements.
2. It irks the Left (theirs and ours).
They should be lined up against a wall and shot.

nj aviator. Obama only needs 37% to vote him back into office. there is a 13% solid voting block that will never abandon him. Right now he has a 36% approval rating outside this block. I think it will be very difficult to bring it down any further. What more does he need to do to show this country that he aims to destroy it?
Not only is the death penalty totally appropriate, it is the only appropriate sentence with these kinds of people.
If you try to be “reasonable” and give them prison sentences, you open yourself to endless terrorist attacks and kidnappings to effect their release.

They can monitor the trial by watching Court TV.
Anyone that believes sending German officials to monitor an American trial is merely to ensure promises kept is willfully blind to the true purpose: To protect the cowardly murdering pedophile-following, goat-loving, personal hygiene avoiding, sheeite-heads that committed mass murder.

And, truth be told, it is also political theater for the German’s to play all high and mighty to placate their left-wing base. . .oh, that’s right, the entire political spectrum in that country.

This is the US, not subject to German law.
Keep that in mind when you try and impose German “law” in the US.
While we are on this, when a terrorist attack takes place in Germany and the German’s suffer thousands of deaths, and if American captures the guilty, America should not extradite to Germany the guilty unless we receive assurances the guilty will be executed.
