Quote of the day
Zing! Sarah Palin at the Gridiron Dinner in D.C., skewering the saboteurs in the McCain camp with Ginsu wit:
“The view is so much better from inside the bus than under it.”

Meanwhile, in Iowa:
The line is starting to form outside of Barnes & Noble for Sarah Palin’s book signing on Sunday.
People started lining up as early as 7:30 a.m. this morning to get a copy of Palin’s book, “Going Rogue,” signed. Palin will appear at Barnes & Noble from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
About two dozen chairs are lined up outside the bookstore with about seven people holding spots in the line.
Victoria Boote, a University of Sioux Falls student, was one of the first in line early this morning. It’s not the first time she’s lined up early for events.
“I do it for fun, but this is for passion,” she said.

In accordance with the Federal MainStream Media guidelines, that comment was racist, brought off by Big Insurance, was mob inciteful, said in an enemy camp, and nothing more than a scare tactic by right-wing fringe elements that have taken over 98.7% of the GOP, with the sole exceptions being Collins & Snowe.
In accordance with my own guidelines, that last comment might possibly be sarcastic…

Wait…does she mean the view from the tour bus or the view from the bus she takes from her private jet to the tour bus?
I see Sarah hasn’t lost her sense of humor.
Maybe I can get Sarah to autograph “Culture of Corruption” too.
With all of the rhetoric and crude remarks behind her, she’s now a grizzled veteran – heard & done everything, and ready to handle anyone, in any setting.
Bring ‘em on.
Regardless of what, if any, political goals she sets in the future, she has become a formidable conservative voice. All along, she has had that quality that evokes that primitive visceral response in the libs — and now she can talk a good game as well. Charlie Gibson, I’m sure, is most eager to sit down and have another interview with her…
Sioux Falls is in South Dakota, not in Iowa.
I could only imagine what the line for autographs would look like if Michelle and Gov. Palin were to appear together!
Sarah 2012!
The Goricle also had a Barnes & Noble book signing in NYC and got a rather glacial reception. Funny.
My favorite zinger from Sarah:
Good point! If she were an elitist Democrat, she would never take a bus to the jet; only a limousine would do. Or in the case of Gore, a very large SUV…
Swede, that was funny. I still say the a$$hats out there that bought this global change crap owe me an apology. Choke yourselves for being stupid. The sad thing is the really brainwashed ones will die with the belief, I guess it is their religion. So, I say:
Life is bigger
It’s bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no I’ve said too much
I set it up
That’s me in the corner
That’s me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don’t know if I can do it
Oh no I’ve said too much
I haven’t said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
Every whisper
Of every waking hour I’m
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool
Oh no I’ve said too much
I set it up
Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I’ve said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
No Dimsdale. Libs don’t take limos. They take limos with hookers and blow inside.

From Riehl World View:
As for the president, Palin joked that she was looking at a magazine cover of Obama and Chinese president Hu Jinato during an airplane flight. A nearby passenger stated, “Hu’s the Communist,” she related.
And, Palin said, “I thought he was asking a question.”
I laughed til I choked.
That is a great line!

I would love to see her and Obama debate. Now that would be a fun evening.
I stood in line for 3.5 hours in 37 degree weather in Fayetteville, Arkansas to get my Palin book signed. She is even prettier than on TV. Her Dad was with her and I also spoke briefly to him.
On a related note, Sarah, on the Rusty Humphries national radio show, had the courage to say that Obama’s eligibility is a legitimate issue to bring up and discuss. Unfortunately, she backtracked a bit on her Facebook page. Still, she is about the only well know conservative willing to say anything about the issue. I applaud her for it, though I wish it had been vigoriously pursued during the campaign.
The U.S. Constitution should still matter. It’s difficult for me to discuss political “issues” while knowing all the time that the president in question is almost certainly illegal.
Interestingly a poll of AOL users, (82,000 of them), currently discussed on WND shows that 67% of them agree with Sarah. Pretty good considering the poll was right after a Palin bashing article,
She gets it. She really, really gets it. And she can make the point in a way that is not only funny but also won’t bring her grief for saying, “Obama is a Coummunist”.
67% of AOL users, eh? As I recall, AOL users also had McCain winning something like 48 of the states in the election. Seriously.
There is a Sioux Falls, Iowa. But the quote said, “Victoria Boote, a University of Sioux Falls student, was one of the first in line early this morning.” Is it possible that a student from South Dakota could find her way to a book signing in Iowa? Just a thought.

The Constitution still matters, and the Constitution clearly says:
Obama has never released his initial long-form Birth Certificate.
The State of Hawaii has never authenticated the document that Obama produced.
The document Obama produced was produced at and by the Obama campaign headquarters in Chicago, and was only shown to a small, controlled, Annenberg-connected, non-governmental agency that is supposedly known for fact-checking, yet had to correct their fact-checking errors that were exposed by attorney Leo Donofrio… not once, but twice.
The Hawaiian Director of Health (Dr. Fukino) did not say “Obama was born in Hawaii” in her October 2008 News Release. She put out a new Press Release saying “Obama was born in Hawaii” in July 2009… hours AFTER the U.S. House of Representatives voted in favor of a resolution that included the words “Obama was born in Hawaii”.
This second statement may very well have relied upon this U.S. House Resolution in order to make their claim.
This second statement was reviewed and approved by the Hawaiian Attorney General, and since the conclusion of the AG’s opinion was made public, that AG’s opinion letter must also be made public, per Hawaiian law. Yet neither the DoH nor the AG will release that opinion letter. They are openly defying the law, in order to conceal something.
The 20th Amendment requires both the President and the Vice President to qualify. Since Sarah Palin received electoral college votes for Vice President, I think people should ask her to release her long-form birth certificate. I don’t have any reason to believe that she would hesitate for at all to release it and prove she is a natural born citizen.
At that point, we point out that both McCain and Palin released their long-form birth certificate, but neither Obama nor Biden have. Then ask for a little bit of that much-promised “transparency” from them.
Even if born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Obama could have been born on Hawaiian Crown Lands, (it was originally reported that he was born at The Queen’s Hospital, which appears to be located on Hawaiian Crown Lands). In Elk v. Wilkins, the U.S. Supreme Court took the question of whether John Elk, a Native American born on a reservation, was a citizen. They ruled he was not. That case could be the reason why reports of Obama’s birth hospital, originally claimed to be The Queen’s Hospital, were later changed to Kapi’olani Medical Center, as he now claims.

Chap,
I have two follow-up questions for you here and in the comment that follows that one. You can reply here in this thread if you choose.
Which “private jet” is hers, chapoutier?
The one that she doesn’t have, or the one that Palin haters claims she has but doesn’t have?
To answer your question regarding the views from either in the bus or under the bus, it is clear that Sarah Palin said that the view from inside the bus is much better than the view from under the bus.
Which of that do you not understand?
ITookTheRedPill,
That is an interesting, and entertaining post.
I find it amazing that the US voters’ judgment and values have deteriorated to such a point that a person like Barrack Hussein Obama (Peace be unto Him. Praise His Holy Name. Prostrate before Him in complete surrender and adoration, etc., etc., /sarcasm off) can be elected to the position of President of the United States of America.
It is par for the course these days, as Al Franken and other leftists can steal elections and use the courts to get appointed to positions in government, such as Senator and member of the House of Representatives, merely by pestering and pushing and using the courts, and stamping feet and having temper tantrums, until they get the votes counted, recounted, recounted again, and recounted, ad nauseum, until they get the result they were shooting for, thus stealing the election from the original winner and the voters who voted for the real, authentic winner.
Question: Will the Amateur-in-Chief, the Underwhelming One, be reelected in 2012? Will he be granted an unlimited term time duration?
Will He become the Emperor of Planet Earth, with the residents of Earth bowing in homage and adoration to Him?
If we have honest elections, no.
But if nothing is done to stop ACORN and voting by illegals, dead people, and voting machine fraud, then yes, Obama will be “re-elected”.
Are you aware that in the NY-23 race that Hoffman narrowly “lost”, that the ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS CERTIFIED NEGATIVE NUMBERS!
I finished reading “Going Rogue” yesterday and my husband finished it a few days before. We’re married 56 years and we love this woman! (We love you, too, Michelle – it’s wonderful to know there are so many younger people that think and feel as we do.)
Our son with Downs is 45 and he does not speak…well, once we think he said “pizza”! I had 3 older brothers in WWII – one on “eternal patrol”. Husband in Korea 16 months – SSgt. grandson in Iraq 3X – Afghanistan next.
This is a blessed country – we need to get it back on track. Support our troops. Defeat the CIC.
I read the article and am still in shock! Elections should be conducted with scanner type machines. That is, mark your choice on a paper ballot then scan into the voting machine. That way there is paper trail available if a re-count is required. My take away from NY-23 is that the filthy, lawless democrats will do anything to stay in power. May God help us all.
We are so used to that here. This was satirized so well in the acknowledgements section of The Iowa Road Kill Cookbook written by a ficticious professor who signed his remarks:
Professor John Doe
The University of Iowa
Idaho City, Ohio
Ya think? That has been a constant my entire life. We need to be ruthless (yes RUTHLESS) in our quest to clean up the election process.
Has anyone read Sarah Palin’s book and care to share their thoughts on it?
For something to be funny there has to be an element of truth to it, and the quote is funny, becuase Sarah has thrown people under the bus.
The Gridiron dinner is an oportunity to be light hearted and is hardly substantiative. My hope is that Sarah will deliver quotable substantiative remarks and detailed policy positions in the near future.
In your self annointed opinion that is. If there was an election right now between Obama and Palin she’d easily blow him away by 20 points or more. Liberals know this; you apparently, not so much.
Private jet? In honor of the Eco Warriors I hope it is a refurbished DC-8 with the old style, fuel gulping, carbon spewing engines.
Do we have a problem here with the time effeciencies provided by general aviation? Why would you hammer nails while shingling a roof when you have a nail gun?
Works for me and pretty much irrelevant to the discussion.
Umm,…have you reread that source lately, RedPill? The author total walked back his claim.
In Plano, Sarah actually surprised the early risers, showing up before 7am (in 28 degree temperatures where even Sarah looked cold) to greet people getting in line. A report of that book signing is here.
That is, on its face one of the most laughably absurd things ever posted.
According to Pollster.com, Palin’s favorable/unfavorable is 40%/49%. Obama’s is 53%/40%. Just because she is very popular in the circles you run in does not mean that sentiment carries over to the rest of the country.
No. I have a problem of her presenting the false facade of a down-home-gittin’- to-know-America-”bus”-tour.
And uhhh…the point of the thread is her making a joke about her bus. I’d say her relative unfamiliarity with the inside of said bus is fine fodder.
flyoverman said.” We need to be ruthless (yes RUTHLESS) in our quest to clean up the election process.”
I would go a step further and add, “In our quest to clean up the political process.”
Re her book: “Going rogue” refers to Sarah speaking outside the supposed campaign headquarters script (that apparently did not exist as they were seldom on the same page.) She had to pay back $50,000 for being vetted for VP because “they lost”. Although we did not want John McCain as nominee, and she does not trash him, we have even less respect for him (and his campaign advisors) now.
Sarah will not – and we must not – sit down and shut up! The book is 413 pages and well worth the read. You will be amazed!
On December 5th, 2009 at 10:25 pm, chapoutier said:

*Sarah needs to stay “Rogue” for the next 18 months, steering clear of the GOP hierarcy and the Minor League Media, while she continues to build on the notion that she will actually change the destructive nature of D.C. that both the Dems and the Repubs have given us.
*If she can successfully pull that off, the GOP will have already peeled away the known RINO’s and marginalized the other squishy ones; Not to worry about the Dems, as they will be toast by 2012.
Who knew they were remaking “Beauty and the Beast” at the Gridiron Dinner?
And according to Obama, Sioux City is also in South Dakota, not in Iowa. But, as Right Wing News reminded us in May 2008, remembering different cities in fifty-seven states is a tough job.
Chap, waking from his nap, reveals he suffers from Palin Derangement Syndrome. Very funny. Reading about the ailment might help.
sarah was funny. when did you ever see barry deliver a funny line, make fun of himself, or not give the finger to his opponents. even poking fun at herself for what snl’s tina fey said. the genuine article. and btw, i’ll put her intellect up against our harvard lawyer any day. just as with kerry was soooo smart, and bush was soooo dumb, but when they each took the same test as military officers, bush scored 1 point higher than kerry. the propoganda machine can convince a majority of americans, because a majority of americans have proven to be stupid enough or gullible enough to believe a community organizer who never held a real job is competent to run the u.s. public education deserves a round of applause.
Wait, which was they symptom? Me pointing out her abysmal favorability numbers or me pointing out her high-living style?
Hey arrogant self promoter.
Care to give me a quote where McScamnesty ever said anything negative toward Sarah Palin?
I didn’t think so, you mouth breather.
For those of you who criticize Sarah Palin’s “high living lifestyle”…why are you doing that? Does she not have a right to live how she wants? She is not taking taxpayer money for her tours. AND, she is not concerned with global warming, since she has always known it was overblown, so why not use a jet? What is the problem? She doesn’t live any higher than ManBearPig, but at least she is not a hypocrite about it.
chapoutier wrote:
It’s not “her” jet, champ.
A Harper Collins company representative told “Good Morning America” that HarperCollins paid for the jet, and that Palin took it only for three legs of the journey and only when it was necessary.
IOW, no taxpayer paid for the jet, and it was part of her job as the named author (granted, she probably had a ghostwriter but I don’t recall seeing the word “autobiography” anywhere) to do the tour as Harper Collins saw fit.
Likewise, I don’t begrudge the Clintons any of their book money or tours or speaking engagement money. They get paid per market value – if people want to hear what they say/write, then they can pay what they think is the fair price for it.
I know, free markets and not wasting tax money scares socialists like you. Maybe you can console yourself when you achieve your life’s dream of licking jackboots clean. In the meantime, suffer.
that’s not your best effort, no Irish Coffee this morning? I’m a little slower than most I guess, what was the meaning of that comment? Was it criticism of Gov. Palin or humor, please tell me I must have missed it.
your a learned fellow, what was the point of your comment…the article said it was a student from Sioux Falls, not a student from the university of Sioux Falls, Iowa.
Rep Thaddeus McCotter explains empirical data, and the need for such to claim that Global Warming is anything more than a collectivist theory.

Re: Democrats like Pelosi, Obama, Reid and co.
Palin’s “It” factor, her ability to attract an audience and media attention, are a far more accurate gage of her political viability than any spurious, momentary favorability rating; she’s the one everyone is talking about and longs to see.
Just an observation about this thread, please take note on how many of the cheap shot criticisms are coming from people who claim to be conservatives. If you guys can’t let go of your GOP security blankets, you will never grow up to be conservatives. Sarah isn’t running for president (yet and may not) but she is the best positioned conservative politician to bring a lot of pain to the one-party government next year. Give her a chance!
Well said, thank you.
Now it’s Go Sarah!
I heard yesterday on Fox News that Sarah was giving the proceeds from the sold books at Fort Hood to the murdered military families. I love Sarah and her entire family!
I do not care how she gets from place to place as long as she gets there.
L
The question would be would she be debating Obama or his teleprompter?
Good points in that article. Especially about the glaciers. Those glaciers moved across Minnesota, melted, and left us our 10,000 lakes and other neat things! So, does ManBearPig think that humans caused those glaciers to melt by overuse of carbons? Good grief, this whole issue is so stupid. People have lost their collective minds! By the way, viewing that great video clip of Gore being hassled gave me enormous pleasure! I pray we can continue to jab at him at every opportunity. He seems to be carrying on like nothing has happened. I know he is delusional, but that crap has to cease. Wake up, Gorebutt! You are so finished!
P.S. Anyone who can get close enough to Gore to jeer and holler at him, please do so. I would call those patriots true heros. You risk being hurt or arrested because, unlike the war protestors, or the idiots who scream outside of military funeral services, our side apparently has no right to protest. But protest we must. And be sure it is put on the internet for all to see.
Can’t happen. You can’t get near Gore without paying for the “privilege”. If I were to shell out money, I would insist that a cream pie be involved.
Hey Chap—Guess you enjoy helping to pay for Nancy Pelosi’s big Government provided 757. Palin sold the Government owned airplane as Alaska governor. She’s payin the bills for this. You libs bring out the same old tired playbook–good for me, but not for thee.
I was hoping you had linked to a picture of the F-22 Obama had towed out of the Alaska Air National Guard hanger and replaced with an older F-15 for his photo-op. Can’t remind people that he is against improving the military, and cancelled the F-22.
BTW – most of here are in favor of private jets. We object to enviro-nuts telling us to bicycle while they jet around, and they’re a lot cheaper than that 767 Pelosi buzzes around in.
The one she earned? It’s a traditional American thing…
Is everyone here purposely ignoring my point? I don’t care that she flies in a private jet and I never said the taxpayers were paying for it.
If a prominent dem had written a book, set off on a “bus tour” and then it was revealed he was flying in a private jet from stop to stop while his staff and crew drove, he would be skewered here, by MM and the commenters.
Oops, messed that up…
Is the term “whistle-stop” still in use? It’s from the days people travelled on trains, and persisted well into the jet age….
Rightwingrocker:
Who did you vote for in 2008?
Chappy: I don’t recall anyone here ever criticizing any private citizen for traveling any way they choose with private funding, so long funding is the issue. Criticizing hypocrites like Gore and Prince Charles is another issue. Palin’s publisher is probably footing the bill for that private jet so what is the problem? Same thing happened with both Clintons and many other celebs who write books. I don’t remember anyone protesting that. You are wasting your time.
Only if he were an envirowhacko who constantly pontificates to us about saving the Earth.
Palin flew a few times to get to locations on a private jet, but has also used the bus. So what? Quit your usual lying. Now why don’t you go clean the litter box?
Oh, and chapoutier, Palin’s numbers are not “dismal”. In spite of all the garbage that has been flung at her by your Hollyweirdo, lamestream media cohorts, she still manages to poll favorably among the GOP, and Rasmussen has her within 6 points of Obama.
I wonder how Reagan polled in 1977 against Carter?

*supposed to be funny*
Am I banned yet?
Palin’s poll “negative” numbers are dubious. She introduced her book on “Oprah” (you know, the show that served as a daily free campaign for Obama last year?) and the audience DOUBLED. Her book is one of the biggest best-selling non-fiction books ever. She is a genuinely likable person and the more America sees the real Palin, the more they will like her.
The real negativity is coming from Republicans, not Democrats. We need to do something about that.
BTW, Dana Perino was pitching pro-AGW BS this morning of Fox. There’s your likable light-weight. Very loyal to Bush but not much in the attic.
No it’s not, dopey. I really wonder how you managed to make it through law school.
And I bet Palin would beat Obama now because he’s lost the independents and many of his supporters on the left are disenchanted with him right now. They would sit at home on election day, while Palin supporters on the right will come out in droves and vote, not to mention those independents who are taking a second look at Palin after their disappointment with Obama.
3 years before the 1980 election, I bet even Reagan would not have polled within 6 points of Carter. That’s my point, which is probably lost on you, Pee Wee.
ROFL!
heh, glad you liked it, atheling.
