Tomato Man: Another addition to the Unhinged mugshot collection
Last October, NYTimes columnist trembled in fear at the prospect of massive waves of violence by conservatives. He accused McCain-Palin supporters of being “gripped by insane rage.” His fellow fear-mongerer Frank Rich added that the Right was guilty of “Weimar-like rage” and the “violent escalation of rhetoric.” Since then, of course, the Left has been gripped by Palin-induced psychosis, SEIU-induced thuggery, and Tea Party-bashing gone wild.
Yesterday, a Palin-hater took literal aim at a book-signing at Minnesota’s Mall of America — hurling two tomatoes at the author from a second-floor balcony. He missed and hit a cop. The nutroots dregs are, predictably, cheering their new “hero” for the attempted assault.
Tomato Man is just one in a long line of unhinged, conservative-hating criminal thugs (and not the only left-wing nut with lousy aim). Adding his mugshot to the collection:

I hope, and this is a real hope, that this thug gets jail time for assaulting a COP. I am tired of these assaults and near assaults on conservatives because they can lead to an escalation of violence. I suspect that Palin could have taken this guy out with relative ease as she is almost certainly in good shape from all of that walking and shooting.
We keep hearing that conservatism is the source of narrow-mindedness, every kind of bigotry known to humankind, violence, hatred, religious (Christian) extremism, etc. . . . and yet things like this keep happening.
I don’t like to see the increased violence, but on the up side, it may be a sign of increased desperation on their part.

I’m a certified pistol shooting/safety instructor, & I ask people a few times a month when the opportunity arises in conversation if they have a gun or carry pepper spray for protection.. I’m sure that right now they think I’m a gun nut, or a little strange for asking, but one day they will understand.. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s too far off..
