Hey, Jan Schakowsky: Stop scaring people

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 10, 2009 09:09 AM

Yesterday, President Obama lectured the GOP to “stop trying to frighten the American people.”

Tell it to Democrat Rep. Jan Schakowsky, who’s invoking “back alleys and hangers” in her attacks on moderate, pro-life Democrats and Republicans who oppose Demcare government subsidies for abortion (h/t Newsalert).

As usual Democrats can’t logic their way through the most of simple issues. Even if abortion were a right, how does that mean other people should pay for it? Having a right to do something does not mean others must pay for you to exercise that right. By this logic the right to bear arms means the govt. should send a check to the buyer of a gun to guarantee “access” to guns for the poor. I’d like to see the Republicans propose that in congress just to see liberal heads exploding.

Yeah, remember Scott Peterson? He was convicted of murdering not only his wife, but his unborn child. So apparently, it is sometimes murder and sometime a “right”. Another example of the confusion of the left. They don’t have a clue where they stand on anything. It depends on which way the wind is blowing on any particular day. But whatever, just fund their programs and issues and shut up.

If a person aborts a baby, that’s okay, because the baby has no rights. Yet, if someone shoots the baby in the womb, all of a sudden, the baby has rights. Go figure.

Actually, there are a significant number of pro-abortion persons and groups that oppose fetal homicide laws because it threatens abortion.

From Stateline.org, a 2006 article highlighting the issue:

A wave of new state fetal homicide laws recognizing a fetus “of any gestational age” as a person and potential crime victim has abortion rights advocates worried the statutes could undermine a woman’s right to end her pregnancy.

This year, Alabama, Alaska, Oklahoma, South Carolina and West Virginia passed new fetal homicide statutes making it a separate offense to kill a fetus when a pregnant woman is murdered or assaulted. All five new laws apply to fetuses starting at conception.

Abortion rights advocates argue the new laws are part of a legal strategy to establish that life begins at conception. “It’s the elevation of the status of the fetus that is going to erode the right to access abortion,” Goldschein said.

Anti-abortion groups promote the laws, saying fetuses should be recognized as living human beings. But there is disagreement about whether the laws are part of a legal strategy to chip away at abortion rights.

The Goldschein quoted is Sondra Goldschein, state strategies director for the American Civil Liberties Union’s Reproductive Freedom Project.

Because, see, abortion is all about a woman’s choice until a woman chooses to have a child and someone kills that baby. Then we can’t respect the mother’s choice because it could get in the way of killing thousands of other babies.

Given that homicide is the #1 cause of death for pregnant women, don’t you think the people who claim women’s issues are a priority would try to figure out why?

Could it be because they’ve encouraged women to shack up with losers and abusers who then get jittery at the prospect of having to care for a baby, and either force the woman to abort or beat her (and/or her unborn child) to death if she won’t abort?

Apparently not with this administration. The unborn victim at Ft. Hood has no one at Justice representing them. The Muslim terrorist is facing 13 counts of murder, not 14. This is not an oversight – it is the policy of one who didn’t see a problem with throwing an aborted yet living child into a closet to die.

On December 10th, 2009 at 1:16 pm, Regulus said:

What all the liberal fear-mongering about abortion is about is a simple concept: convenience.

One of the tell-tale signs of adulthood is the acceptance that sometimes you have to give up your own comfort, convenience, pleasure and even safety for the sake of others — most importantly, your family.

An arrested adolescent — a liberal, in other words — is more concerned with being able to avoid having to grow up than with learning how to deal with adult cares and concerns.

And what greater life-altering adult concern is there than realizing that there’s a baby on the way?

Consider the Caylee Anthony homicide investigation from a few months ago: after watching Greta Van Susteren beat that case into the ground over weeks and months, the upshot seemed to be, “Mom still wanted to party-hearty, and the kid got in the way.”

My moonbat sister of the 2 abortions was exactly the same way: when confronted with the prospect of having to give up the bars and the nightlife, she didn’t hesitate to exercise her “right to choose.”

Or as Hope-a-Dope so memorably put it, why should she have been “Punished with a baby?”(TM)

The only difference between Caylee Anthony’s mom and a liberal woman having an abortion of convenience is that the former offed her kid post-partum.

But remember, folks, this is a good thing. Check of proof: Just work your way through the equation –

    1. Adult conservative women tending to accept the adult consequences of pregnancy, +

    2. Arrested adolescent liberal women killing off their own young to avoid adulthood, =

    3. Fewer future liberals, and more future conservatives. How is that not a good thing?

I say we should let the libs have their precious abortions – their own voluntary form of population control is preferable to having more of them around. Or as the saying goes, “Never interfere with the enemy when he’s in the process of destroying himself.”

As far as your argument that abortion is good as long as the only women aborting their babies are liberals while conservatives are willing to accept the responsibility, I’m afraid I can’t quite go there. A liberal having a baby does not necessarily guarantee a future liberal; look at David Horowitz. :)

Oh yes, there are multiple examples of that – I don’t remember her name now, but there was some gal here in Oregon years ago who shot her kids and killed all but one of them for much the same reason.

And while I like David Horowitz, pointing out the exception to the rule (there are always exceptions) doesn’t invalidate the rule.
