White anchor at indelibly white network decries “white tribalism”
There he goes again. Racial bean-counter Chris Matthews, of the indelibly white MSNBC, is attacking conservatives for stoking “white tribalism:”
On the Sunday, December 13, syndicated Chris Matthews Show, as he ended the show with words of praise for Morgan Freeman’s latest film, Invictus, and its depiction of Nelson Mandela uniting blacks and whites in South Africa in the 1990s, host Matthews referred to “white tribalism” having been stirred up in America, and showed clips of anti-Obama protesters.
Matthews: “In this world of ours today, it seems that any idiot – almost any idiot can rally the forces of tribalism, including white tribalism in this country. You can do it with a frown or a smile – easiest thing in the world to rile people back to their roots, get them thinking with all the rage of their grandparents.”
Meanwhile…
Demonstrating its continuing commitment to “Do As We Say” diversity, Matthews’ network has announced a new addition to its own glaringly pallid line-up, via TVNewser:
NBC News White House correspondents Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie will be anchoring a new program for MSNBC, reports WaPo’s Howie Kurtz.
The program, titled “Daily Rundown,” will air at 9amET in 2010, filling the slot formerly occupied by Dylan Ratigan’s “Morning Meeting,” who, we heard, will be on in the afternoon.
Todd says the program “has the feel of a signature Washington show for us.”
The sanctimony of liberal white tribes never ceases to amuse.

Chris, my grandparents did not rage. I’m sure yours were very upset over being forced to come down from their arboreal nests, but mine worked in the coal mines, and on the farm, but did not make a peep about it.

By white tribalism, I assume Matthews means us – all the Michelle Malkin/Thomas Sowell/Walter Williams fans. boy, white tribalism just isn’t what is used to be.
If you take Rasmussen’s figures as “about right,” then 44% of all Americans still support Obama.
African American’s, however, support him at the absurd rate of 92%, last I read. Hispanic Americans are more like 70%, as are Jewish Americans (more like 80%, based on what I read).
Thus about half of the 44% who still support this guy are either Jewish, non-Asian, or non-Caucasian.
That’s not good. It means that in a room filled with 100 non-Jewish Caucasians and Asians, you’re only going to find 20 people who think favorably of our current president. I include “mildly favorable” in that.
The other 80 people will range from mildly unfavorable to “throw the bum out!”
I really, really hate those numbers. Those are the kinds of numbers that lead to all kinds of problems.
That Chris Matthews is criminally stupid is no surprise to anyone. The man is, charitably, “low-functioning.”
For him to stoke this issue, issue, might end up being more than criminally stupid – it might end up being just criminal.
At some point, somebody is going to “pop.” Whether it is one of the people who blindly support Obama, or a person running out of unemployment – with babies to feed, etc.
We do NOT need anyone hitting this particular blasting cap with a stick.

If I remember correctly, the black tribe voted 25 to 1 for the black president. Of course, black are never tribal – oops, I forgot about the entire continent of Africa.
This kind of rhetoric from any supposed commentator is inflammatory and derogative. We are either going to be Americans or we are going to be gone.

I’m not sure What is meant by white tribalism, but someone should do a true count on all network/cable tv.
People of color including Asians and hispanics make up somewhere near 14%-15% of Americas citizens, the rest are white. That would mean (all things being equal)there should be about 3 minority broadcasters per 20 white ones. Seems on most networks minorities are over represented. If you watch the Disney chanel or any commercials you would have to believe the true # of minorities (by representation) is somewhere near the 50% mark.
But whose counting.
Screw the Caucasians.

Here we have a network — who’s shows are hosted 100% by whites — with a member who decries “white tribalism”.
Oh yummy. If I were a psychiatrist who needed a “control group” for measuring the relative intensity of various neuroses in other groups, MSNBC would be my benchmark.
As in: “Our research indicates that the mental instability of genocidal sociopaths is only 87%, relative to the control group.”
And the cherry on top? Why, additional bailout money for more “research of the aggrieved”, of course.

Chris Matthews has no right to complain about bigotry given that he has used ugly code words and sterotypes in his obsessive anger at Jewish conservatives. Matthews habit is to use the word “neocons” which is Matthews way of saying Jews. A few weeks ago, a guest said that certain conservatives were being “aggressive”. Matthews cut the guest off and said “It must be verbal aggression. That is the only kind of aggression these neocons are capable of”. Matthews was playing on an ugly sterotype of Jews as bookish wonks. And then a while back, Matthews was talking about Bill Kristol and other Jewish conservatives and he mentioned that “these neocons (re Jews) have never been in a streetfight”. Matthews contrasted that with himself as a tough talking Boston street kid who, according to Matthews, brawled his way to school each day of his youth. I looked up Matthews military record to see if he is really is the tough street kid from the mean streets of South Boston, as he claims. Oops, sorry, Chris. You never enlisted in the military. You took the easy way out. You joined the peace corps and let a working class kid from South Boston go to VietNam while you loolygagged in the Carribean. I don’t know anyone who says he gets a thrill up his leg from watching Barack Obama who could be a tough guy.

If you are using Windows XP, go to Control Panel and then open Regional and Language Options. Click on “Details” and then click on “Add” to see additional languages. For example I have added Russian and German to my keyboard.
I don’t see a Gaelic keyboard but I do see Welsh. Not sure if that will work as Welsh seems to be a language with a deplorable absence of vowels…

Why does this take so long?
There was a long and righteous moral crusade in this country, and it was about race. It included the Civil War — by far the deadliest American war — and continued with varying degrees of fervor until the last legal remnants of segregation were knocked down in the mid-twentieth century. The nation then spent untold billions on social services, including welfare and public housing, that went disproportionately to black Americans.
The country had hardly embraced Dr. King’s call to judge men not by the color of their skin but by the content of their characters before that self-evident vision of universal justice was cast aside in favor of a vast array of preferences, most of which continue, for better or worse, until this day with the object of advancing the fortunes of black people even at the expense of unfairness to others. In short, racism — at least white against black racism — was as dead in this country as racism can ever possibly be among men. It should have been a time for the nation to come together and celebrate another remarkable achievement for America, an achievement of racial justice probably unmatched on a comparable scale in all of human history.
But many did not pause to celebrate. They chose rather the politics of grievance and of continuing accusation. For many educated Americans of Chris Matthews’ generation the crusade against racism was their “great war,” that time when they were most alive, most certain of their righteousness. It was a crusade that had the particular virtue of attacking a sin that was historically rooted in one geographic section of the country. For many young Northeastern liberals of the 60s, it was a sin of which they themselves were utterly innocent; the stain belonged entirely to benighted “others,” particularly Southerners.
What Freedom Riders and other civil rights crusaders from the North did in those times was undeniably brave and a moral service to the nation. But the virtue felt so good to many like Chris Matthews that they have never been able to accept victory. All these years later they still have that John Brown fire in their eyes as they spew contempt on other Americans whom they are always suspecting of being closet Klansmen. They have transmitted this spirit — no longer righteous but SELF-righteous — to younger generations who also enjoy a moral cause in which they belong to the heroic side and there are countless evil-doers yet to be rooted out.
Chris Matthews and people like him have evolved from moral heroes to moral cretins, perpetually on the march, their righteousness having turned to bile and almost all of their enemies now being entirely innocent. Oh but the righteousness feels so good. No need to worry that is is racial poison to the nation. It makes their legs tingle.
(There is no intent to imply that Chris Matthews participated specifically in “freedom rides,” for which he would have been barely old enough. But he was a Northeastern liberal roughly of the civil rights generation and clearly caught the spirit and considers himself a great warrior against racism.)

The banner ad for the MSNBClooks like a nice suburban picket fence, doesn’t it? I mean, there’s a rotted post here and there, but some whitewash will hide them.
