What started as a conservative protest klatch has evolved into a political force with enough muscle to potentially alter the course of the 2010 mid-term elections.

The “tea party” movement that gained steam shortly after President Obama took office is seeing a surge in popularity with a string of candidates and officials willing to take up its cause and a political infrastructure that’s starting to mirror that of an actual political party.

*I appreciate that people are now engaged and showing up at these rallies on Capitol Hill, but I suspect that these rat bastards are going to give P-BO something to sign no matter what; I believe now that 2010 will have to be the year of the Tax Revolt to starve this beast and shut this government down because bankrupcy is on the horizon otherwise.
**Those that are self-employed can send in their 1040-ES with an I.O.U. and those that fill out the W4 can update with 10 dependents(illegals, prisoners, moochers, etc.); No one is listening and Nov. 2010 may be too late!

The threat of a base closing is a bluff. Futhermore it is a single source rumor, either to give Sen Nelson cover to vote one way, or to give him leverage to exact his ‘Louisianna Purchase’ ala Sen Landrieua.

There is this thing called BRAC that is used before a base can be closed. The entire list of military installations is voted on up, or down.

No one base is singled out. The single source rumor would have greater credibility if it had been said that the Nebraska Air Force base was being added to the BRAC list.

Not saying it isn’t true, but it does not pass the smell test. It passes the political rumor test of speculation to advance an agenda, but not much else.
