Confirmed: Chuck Schumer is a first-class jerk

Few things scream BELTWAY ARROGANCE louder than Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer.

You’ll remember his putdown of fiscally responsible Americans on the floor of the Senate earlier this year when he derided taxpayer concerns about massive pork in the stimulus bill.

So, it’s no surprise he treats flight attendants the same way he treats every other ordinary, hard-working taxpayer: with utter contempt:

Sen. Chuck Schumer loves the sound of his own voice, but it carried a bit farther than he might have liked on the US Airways shuttle from New York to Washington on Sunday.

According to a House Republican aide who happened to be seated nearby, the notoriously chatty New York Democrat referred to a flight attendant as a “bitch” after she ordered him to turn off his phone before takeoff.

Schumer and his seatmate, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), were chatting on their phones before takeoff when an announcement indicated that it was time to turn off the phones.

Both senators kept talking.

Confirmed: Chuck Schumer is a first-class jerk.

Apparently the fact that other congress critters are also jerks, somehow justifies Schumer’s actions. If MM wanted to document all the congressional jerkiness of the year she would need another web site and some full time personel. Would help the unemployment situation perhaps.

I am asking why Michelle didn’t cover it nine months ago. Obviously, this behavior is worthy of a post coming from a Democratic senator. Wondering why it was not worthy when it came from a Republican. That was bigger news then as it led to an actual TSA investigation. Indeed, it doesn’t. But if you’re suggesting that nobody here is going to denounce Vitter’s conduct because he’s a Republican and a majority of commenters here are also Republican … c’mon.

Vitter was a jerk then just as Schumer is a jerk now.

I am asking why Michelle didn’t cover it nine months ago. Obviously, this behavior is worthy of a post coming from a Democratic senator. Well, you and I both know that only Michelle can answer that, but it’s rather unlikely that she’s actively monitoring the comments now, so you’re not likely to get a direct response. Still, it’s probably because the Vitter incident wasn’t broadcast all over talk radio (Hannity had a segment about the Schumer incident, and I expect other voices on talk radio will as well).

Sure, it could be that the Vitter incident didn’t earn a blog entry because Michelle doesn’t want to air any dirty laundry about Republicans, but, again, c’mon. You’ve been here long enough to know that Michelle rakes Republicans over the coals when it is merited. Just because there was no entry about the Vitter incident doesn’t show that Michelle is “ducking” the incident.

Undeterred, Vitter opened the door, setting off a security alarm and prompting an airline worker to warn him that entering the gate was forbidden.

Vitter, our spy said, gave the airline worker an earful, employing the timeworn “do-you-know-who-I-am” tirade that apparently grew quite heated.

Actually, I can understand Vitters anger. I’ve never flown where the door is shut 20 minutes before departure.

Senator Wants Investigation Of Frequent Flyer Programs [Airlines]

Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) is calling for a probe of frequent flyer programs to determine whether they deliver the value that they promise. In particular, he wants the Department of Transportation to look into the issue of evaporating miles, a relatively new phenomenon brought introduced via expiration dates in recent years.

“As the holiday travel season approaches, we cannot let airlines and credit card companies continue to fly off with hard-earned frequent flier miles,” Schumer said in an announcement scheduled for Sunday. “When a consumer accumulates valuable frequent flier miles, they should not have to constantly worry that they are going to expire with little or no notification from the airline.”

Then why bring it up? I have never seen where MM advertises her site to be “Fair and Balanced” or are you suggested the “Fairness Doctrine” be applied to every topic posted on any conservative site?
I’m sure your well aware of all “fair” comments made on your type of sites like Koz and Huff n’ Puff. If you spent more time preaching to the choir on those sites I seriously doubt you’d be missed here.

Actually, our rolls of toilet paper and the refuse that already went into the sewer system took offense to your statement.

Calling Schumer and all people like him “butt wipes” is a deeply offensive insult to butt wipes everywhere.

Perhaps calling Chuch Schoomer (He he! How’d you like that spelling? Or is it Shoemer?) “Senator” is insult enough!

Now, if he would just admit he is a closet conservative and move from the dark side, he would feel ever so much better. Poor confused soul.

Tell me something, Jeddite. Since there are a lot of threads on MM’s site, why would I want to stay in one that is frustrating, upsetting, nasty, and gives me no satisfaction? Life is too short. And as you so kindly pointed out, I am old, and life is too short to waste a lot of time in futile pursuits. So you can criticize me for leaving the discussions, but I do so for my own mental well-being. I will pick and choose the threads that interest me and if they become tiresome, I will leave. I also shall wear purple.
