In other ACORN news, the General Accounting Office tells House Republicans it will investigate ACORN’s use of federal funds.

And in the “When pigs fly” category of news, an appeal of the court ruling in the ACORN funding ban case:

The government is arguing that a judge should reverse her ruling banning it from cutting ACORN’s funding.

It said in papers filed Thursday in federal court in Brooklyn that an investigative report commissioned by ACORN reinforces Congress’ concern with ACORN’s misuse of federal funds.

The report was released four days before Judge Nina Gershon ruled Friday that the government’s cutoff of ACORN funding was unconstitutional.

    It didn’t click this morning when some guy came into the place I was having breakfast tellin’ the Waitress (owner) he was ‘lookin’ for people that wanted a job.

    He had walked by me ’cause I look ‘obviously’ too decrepit to do ‘real’ work.

    Actually I was the only person in the place except for the owner (waitress) and the Cook, (Great Cook).

    Actually this exceptional place is in ‘The Woods’ on a ‘Snow Machine Trail’ in the far North. (and that’s as much as you’ll get out of me, we’ll take UR money, but don’t stay too long, and don’t pretend you know how we live), anyway, this ‘Employer’ was asked ‘what kind of work?’
    His answer was ‘Census’. If I’d have been as quick as city folk I’d u volinteeered. They need us ignorant bastards back in Da Woods ta hep dem re-elect the Frickin’ Facist c@#&^&%skrs that are screwing us now.

    I thought that was the only “qualification” for ACORN membership, but then there are others:

    * Allegiance to the donkey party;
    * Willingness to lie;
    * Willingness to cheat;
    * Willingness to break the law;
    * Willingness to help others break the law;
    * Willingness to intimidate others

    – But then again, aren’t those all long-hand for “social and economic justice?”

    Psst – it technically isn’t the “General Accounting Office” any more. Now it’s the “Government Accountability Office.”

    Sadly, I don’t think they issued any reports about how much the decision to change the name cost, or how many hours of deliberation were involved.

    How does a political action group like ACORN get or qualify for taxpayer money? The Gubmint doesn’t fund the Salvation Army–and they help many more people than the NUTS do.
