Eco-thuggery in Copenhagen

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 18, 2009 09:27 AM

Anthony Watts has the latest on the eco-thuggery in Copenhagen:

Lord Monckton barred from Copenhagen conference – pushed to the ground by security

Lord Monckton reflects:

A few weeks ago, at a major conference in New York, I spoke about this tendency towards tyranny with Dr. Vaclav Klaus, the distinguished economist and doughty fighter for freedom and democracy who is President of the Czech Republic.

While we still have one or two statesmen of his caliber, there is hope for Europe and the world. Unfortunately, he refused to come to Copenhagen, telling me that there was no point, now that the lunatics were firmly in control of the asylum.

However, I asked him whether the draft Copenhagen Treaty’s proposal for what amounted to a communistic world government reminded him of the Communism under which he and his country had suffered for so long.

He thought for a moment – as statesmen always do before answering an unusual question – and said, “Maybe it is not brutal. But in all other respects, what it proposes is far too close to Communism for comfort.”

Today, as I lay in the snow with a cut knee, a bruised back, a banged head, a ruined suit, and a written-off coat, I wondered whether the brutality of the New World Order was moving closer than President Klaus – or any of us – had realized.

Anything other than the standard party line is not considered sane. To not believe in the unbelievable and present an alternative point of view based on facts is not considered in the best interest of the state. Therefore, you are considered a threat to the state and will be treated accordingly.

There is a war going on against the U.S.. It’s not the military type of war, but an economic war, and our president is on the enemy’s side. If they win, this country will be in severe trouble, with the thugs in the U.N. and around the world dictating our policies to an apologetic congress and Obama.

Another fine example of toleration and acceptance of dissent in Bizzaro-land

Ever notice how liberals are silent on these issues? The best they can do is try to say “conservatives did it too!!!”

This is the circus of the absurd. What you have is a collection of anarchists, international socialists and power hunger politicians. If this conference was ever about a real understanding of what affects the climate, that is long gone in a collective moment of insanity.

I read about some protesters demanding climate justice the other day. First time I saw this expression, which is a reference to the money the third world seeks to extort form richer nations in the name of global warming. I expect we’ll be seeing more of this naked money grabbing in the future. Soon it will be climate reparations. In any case Copenhagen has served the purpose to expose the global warming scam to everybody except the willfully ignorant.

I’d really like to put that on a bumper sticker. I just can’t afford to replace the tires, windows and cover the extensive body work I’m sure would be required after my car is subjected to leftist tolerance while I’m away from it for a little while.

We may have the Chinese to thank for stopping the insanity that’s taken over in the UN and Copenhagen from implementing their power grab under the guise of protecting us from the climate. Who’d of thunk it?

The Chinese protecting their economy from the whims of global warming alarmists? That’s a role the USA used to play.

The sad part and not just a little scary, is the fact that all the billions that Secretary Clinton has promised to the “underveloped” nations (should that be too lay to bother with self-development nations?) will probably come from China. Our new bank!

What’s chances the Chinese just give the free money away and we just add it to our tab? Eliminate the middleman, so to speak.

Hey, I’m cheering for Hugo Chavez and his comrades to turn up the rhetoric another notch to more clearly demonstrate what should have been obvious to every thinking human being: this is about putting in place a one-world government with power to destroy any nation, starting with ours. That’s what they want. Anybody who says its about the environment is either ignorant or a liar. Obama isn’t stupid, so I’m going with option ‘B’. There is such a thing as climate change, but it is not man-made. And based on the last 10 years, it may not be getting warmer at all, it may be the start of a cooling trend.

I listened to Obama’s speech this a.m. His head bobbed back and forth between the two teleprompters…it was hilarious. Back and forth, back and forth, in rapid succession. Like a tennis match. Finally, toward the end, he stopped doing that and referred to the notes in front of him instead. Maybe he realized that he was acting stupidly. I have been hearing a lot of lefties lately referring to Odumbo as a “Global President”. For some reason, I thought we had elected a President of the United States. But he hasn’t been in the U.S. nearly as much as he has been in other countries, so I guess I was wrong. He is President of the world. Or, POW for short.

Well, you can ask scientists attacked by animal rights nuts or people whose property had been destroyed by ELF: get in the way of the Warriors For Gaia (Peace Be Upon Her) and you’ll be sorry.

A couple of posts noted that this is an attack on the U.S. economy. More specifically folks, it’s really an attack on the American middle class. Regular people overseas envy us. The elites here and abroad loathe us. They hate the fact we bow to no government to live better than a millionaire would have a century ago. They hate our cars, they hate our “McMansions,” they hate our flat screen t.v.s, and they hate we can strive to make our lives better instead of waiting for somebody to do it for us. The American middle class can change its political leadership the way it can switch brands of detergent. It’s not beholden to anyone because of its economic independence.

That’s why the Internationale wants to take it all away from us. The environment provides an excuse to do so. Our elites want to put “us” back in “our place,” turning us into their serfs while they can live the way they want.

Folks, that is going to be the struggle over the next several years alongside the fight against Jihadism. Both want to destroy everything we have.

    Harder to buy US Treasuries

IT is getting harder for governments to buy United States Treasuries because the US’s shrinking current-account gap is reducing supply of dollars overseas, a Chinese central bank official said yesterday.

Miss Hillary is rather blase about promising money we do not have. Perhaps she know something about cattle futures we don’t.
