How many information technology czars does Obama need?

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 22, 2009 12:36 PM

The White House has named yet another unaccountable appointee to oversee information technology.

We already have shady Vivek Kundra as Federal Chief Information Officer.

Then we have Aneesh Chopra as US Chief Technology Officer.

Now, meet the new Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt:

Here’s the full-text of the announcement email sent to the White House email list by John Brennan, Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism:

Dear Friend,

Cybersecurity matters to all of us. Protecting the internet is critical to our national security, public safety and our personal privacy and civil liberties. It’s also vital to President Obama’s efforts to strengthen our country, from the modernization of our health care system to the high-tech job creation central to our economic recovery.

The very email you are reading underscores our dependence on information technologies in this digital age, which is why it seemed like a fitting way to announce that the President has chosen Howard Schmidt to be the White House Cybersecurity Coordinator. Howard will have the important responsibility of orchestrating the many important cybersecurity activities across the government.

Howard is one of the world’s leading authorities on computer security, with some 40 years of experience in government, business and law enforcement. Learn more about Howard’s background and approach to cybersecurity.

Howard will have regular access to the President and serve as a key member of his National Security Staff. He will also work closely with his economic team to ensure that our cybersecurity efforts keep the Nation secure and prosperous.

Moving forward we will use WhiteHouse.gov, this email program and our other communications tools to keep you posted about our progress in this important area.

Sincerely,

John O. Brennan
Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism

P.S. You can play an important role in cybersecurity as well. Learn more about the issue and steps you can take to ensure your own security.

Which one of them will protect us from White House snoops sifting through Facebook and Twitter and the next Internet Snitch Brigades?

Just a reminder that Demcare will usher in more info czars:

The Obamacare bill also creates a new “Bureau of Health Information” (not to be confused with the already existing National Center for Health Statistics) within the department of Health and Human Services. The BHI will be led by a new “Assistant Secretary for Health Information.” The new assistant secretary will coordinate with the recently-created “National Coordinator for Health Information Technology” – who is responsible for monitoring the $19.5 billion in the stimulus law to implement “a nationwide interoperable, privacy-protected health information technology infrastructure.”

If they get enough information czars, one might just find some way to shut down blogs they don’t like. We can’t have that pesky 1st amendment now can we?

Is this like a light bulb joke…okay, as many as it takes to digitally destroy any criminal connection barry hussien has with blagojevich…nope, how about as many as it takes to get barry hussien’s kick backs up to the amount of money he’s gonna need for his legal defense team once he gets booted from office? bleah, I’ll keep trying, I might come up with something funny after lunch.

He needs another IT Czar to help Rep Grayson out:

On December 22nd, 2009 at 11:07 am, Truesoldier said:
Off topic, but it appears that Rep Grayson does not like being criticized:

In an effort to raise money against the outspoken freshman Democrat, a Republican activist named Angie Langley has launched “mycongressmanisnuts.com” — a Web site that parodies Grayson’s re-election site, “congressmanwithguts.com.”

Langley criticizes Grayson on her Web site for his “inappropriate behavior” and “childish approach” toward governing, and claims he “does not represent the values of central Florida.” She said in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday that she launched the site in an effort “to expose him (Grayson) for what he is.”

But Grayson is not amused, and he is asking U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to conduct an investigation into the Web site and Langley, according to a report in the Orlando Sentinel.

In a four-page letter sent to Holder, Grayson accuses Langley of lying to federal elections and requests that she be fined and imprisoned for five years.
And what is this lie he is claiming:

Her lie, according to Grayson, is that she claims to be one of his constituents. Langley, Grayson says, is misrepresenting herself by using the term “my” in the Web site’s name.

Langley is a resident of Clermont, Fla., which is outside Grayson’s 8th District. Oh, my.

“Ms. Langley has deliberately masqueraded as a constituent of mine, in order to try to create the false appearance that she speaks for constituents who don’t support me,”
This coming from a guy who does not even hold town halls in his own district, he heads over to the next district over to the SEIU hall (anyone know if this hall is in the 8th district?)

    But wait it gets better:

Grayson writes in his complaint. “[She] has chosen a name for her committee that is utterly tasteless and
    juvenile.”

This coming from a Rep who has done some pretty utterly tasteless and juvenile things on the floor of the house (which MM has chronicled very well).

I’m waiting for Obama to stage Sunday afternoon televised “progress” meetings with all of these czars like Hugo Chavez does with all of his ministers. Great opportunity to demonstrate how Obama, like Chavez, due to superhuman commitment to “the people”, is remaining afloat in a sea of treacherous incompetents. That’s how cult-based dictators operate.

A little red book wouldn’t hurt either.

In my home state it was recently discovered that the state’s judicial system alone uses six, COUNT THEM, six different e-mail systems. Adopting one would save the state $20 million annually. Will they? Not a chance.

Given Federal “efficiency” the answer to MM’s question is a “hoarde.”

How many of these judges are getting political donations from their respective email provider?

I’d like to see if the new Czar is smart enough to replace a bad hard drive, format the new one, and reload all the software to get the system operational again. Somehow I doubt they could handle even this simple task.

By the looks of it, 3 (the same number Bush had). And this guy is a carry-over from the previous administration. Apparently overseeing the disappearance of 22 million emails warrants a re-hire.

He does need all the information he could get, but NOT from his appointees. They were schooled just as he was, in anti-Americanism. But back to his much touted ‘intelligence.’ To-date, he cannot even make a simple statement without glancing at his notes. Did you see him commend the Senate for getting the 60 votes? What-the-hey, he had to read from a note! Absent TOTUS, he flounders, or becomes a virtual bobblehead.

Educated? Maybe. But getting doubtful about that Harvard degree more and more. So far he hasn’t shown ANY true knowledge of the Constitution! Neither Obama’s image or name appear in any Occidental yearbooks or the weekly student newspaper for the years he attended. Students at Columbia University believe he was a ghost there, never having seen him, giving rise to articles like: “Obama’s Years at Columbia Are a Mystery.” Reading is taught in grade school, and I am sure Indonesia was strict about it, so we can give him that!
Informed? With what? Indoctrinated and fully immersed in Socialism, probably.
    Blank suit? YES!

The answer is directly proportional to the number of lies told. At the current rate it might be simpler to assign the lie tracking function to the OMB.

Obama is putting America back to work — one czar at a time.
(I have dibs on Food-tasting Czar or Movie Review Czar.)

“As soon as I took office, I asked this Congress to send me a recovery plan by President’s Day that would put people back to work and put money in their pockets. Not because I believe in bigger government — I don’t. Not because I’m not mindful of the massive debt we’ve inherited — I am. I called for action because the failure to do so would have cost more jobs and caused more hardships.”

    – President Obama, February 24, 2009, first address to Congress

Could anything make it clearer that Obama has been a liar from the beginning? Everything he has done has made government bigger and more costly. In most cases it would have been better to have done nothing.
