Old GOP message: “We’re going to fight to the finish line;” New GOP message: “Let’s go home”

I listened to Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell on Sean Hannity’s radio show yesterday.
He sounded tired and barely able to rally the troops against the Democrats’ government health care takeover.
He told Sean’s guest host at the end of an obligatory-sounding critique of Harry Reid that, and I quote, “We’re going to fight ‘em all the way to the finish line.”
That’s what he said:
“We’re going to fight ‘em all the way to the finish line.”
Before the cloture vote on sneaky Sunday, Sen. John McCain had sounded the same message with more energy, invoking John Paul Jones and vowing: “We have not yet begun to fight.”
Well, the fight’s been called off.
McConnell has thrown in the towel:
The Senate will hold a final vote on healthcare reform at 8 a.m. on Christmas Eve.
Under Senate rules, the GOP could have insisted that the vote not occur until 7 p.m. but Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) took to the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon to announce an agreement that allows senators to depart Washington sooner to begin the Christmas holiday.
The 60 members of the Democratic caucus have united twice on procedural votes to advance the legislation, meaning passage is all but assured Thursday. On Wednesday, the Senate will hold a cloture vote to end debate on the bill, setting up final action.
The Tea Party movement injected new life and new blood into the grass-roots fiscal conservative movement — bringing energetic newcomers into the political process willing to invest their time and money outside their day jobs and family/community commitments. They are activists who eschew apathy and fatigue to battle the wealth redistributors at every level and opportunity.
Too many worn-out GOP “leaders” have put “comity” over principle.
My Christmas wish for 2010: A new generation of conservative leaders who will walk the “fight ‘em to the finish line” talk — fighting to win, not fighting to settle.

Cut and run … All they all care about is their position in the WDC politburo. None care what really happens to America — It’s just a game for them.
If this is the case it is no wonder the country will go socialist. My hope is not on the GOP that’s for sure.
Update: “Nevermind, I got mine. I’m tired. I’m going home. Screw the American people. Merry Christmas.”
I understand the principle of fighting to the bitter end, but what is the point? The bill is going to pass the Senate and whether it is in the morning or the evening makes little difference. The GOP lost the fight in the Senate. The Dems won this battle. I am actually in favor of all GOP Senators going home tonight if they could. Let the Dems own this 100%. America saw how this bill was passed and the GOP has to now saddle the Dems with this monstrosity. My hope is that since they had to pass it under the cover of darkensss, that they are not really proud of what is in it. Go home for Christmas and come back with a vengance. There are sill fights about reconciling the bills and there is stil a chance to derail this after it passes the Senate. If not, then the GOP needs to make this about the 2010 election. I am distraught, I just don’t see the point in dragging out the inevitable.
“Let me at ‘em, let me at ‘em!”
McConnell the cowardly lion.
I did hear that part of the reason is that they are trying to beat a storm out that is heading that way.
I would think that if this is the case hold them to the 7pm vote and tell them if you want to beat the storm you will have to postpone the vote till after Christmas.
Unacceptable.
If you want to go home, get Reid to push the vote out till after the recess!
If you give in now, you are giving in to Reid’s game plan, and you are a party to this abomination.
You aren’t willing to sacrifice 12 hours for us?
Unacceptable.
Truesoldier, we think alike. This is an OPPORTUNITY to put some more pressure on the Democratic Socialists.
I don’t want to sound heartless (at Christmas time), but this is their job as Senators. As Republicans, we expect our elected officials to represent us/their constituents. Even if the GOP cannot stop this monstrosity, that does not mean that the GOP should not put forth every effort to block/stop this.
The takeaway is that the GOP are paper tigers. Again, not that I’m completely heartless, but BOO HOO HOO CHRISTMAS WAH WAH WAH. Look, if you’re Harry Reid, you think to yourself: “Hey, let’s foist Shamnesty 2010 on the American people at Christmas 2010″. Now, hopefully that scenario doesn’t occur, but hypothetically, if congressional Democrats realize that the GOP will cave because they want to get home to their families at the holidays (which is completely understandable), why wouldn’t they do just that? Force a vote/debate/circus on Major IssueX before Easter weekend, Independence Day weekend, (week of) Thanksgiving, or (week of) Christmas?
arglebargle
Then why say it in the first place? Are not these people of their word? never mind
conservativesRus,
Exactly!
The point is that being a man of your word matters, and if we can’t trust them to keep their word on this, then we can’t trust them to keep their word on ANYTHING!
Because if you do not, then your opposition knows that all they have to do to beat you is engage you in a battle of attrition until you collapse.
It’s Al Qaeda’s battle plan. It may now be Harry Reid’s battle plan. (Not that I’m trying to draw comparison between Al Qaeda and congressional Democrats … ooh, I feel dirty just needing that disclaimer.)
Words. Just words.
Term Limits Vote them all out.
Conservative radio talk show hosts have been arguing that Tea Partiers should align with the Republican Party instead of going independent. With displays of leadership like this, my question is: WHY?
In 1997 i went to the Philippines to meet my now wife. I had promised (i.e. “gave my word”) to accompany her back to the States when she got her visa. Her visa was delayed after I had flown there giving me two options: keep my word and lose my job, or keep my job and lose integrity. I kept my word and God blessed us in ways unforseen at the time.
I want someone with integrity to represent me and my family. Who are you?
I tend to believe it will take more work and effort to take apart and re-assemble the current R party than to just build a new competitive party from the ground up skipping the dismantling step.
289,000 reasons to remain in D.C. and fight.
Not everyone can be home for Christmas.
Just read Erick Erickson’s post on RedState regarding George Washington….”Good thing George Washington wasn’t a wimp when it came to crossing the Delaware in an ice storm on Christmas night.” Amen!!
For the sake of being in the warmth of his comfortable home on Christmas, Mitch McConnell has shown he has no kahones to stand up for freedom and liberty. Heaven help us! Where are the Patrick Henrys when we need them. Where are the Patrick Henrys who will cry, “give me liberty or give me death”. Certainly, it’s not Mitch McConnell.
Heh it’s more important to go on vacation break than to save the country. Way to go GOP. They’re a few yards from the 2010 finish line and they decided to stop and wait for the Democraps to catch up.
Idiots!!!!!!!!!
I have said for years that almost every time any kind of hope glimmers for the GOP, they take some self-defeating step. I’ve even joked that I think the Dems must have certain photos of particular GOP leaders with a goat and a rhesus monkey.
Now I’m not so sure it’s a joke. The fecklessness makes no sense given the big talk and what’s at stake.
One word: primaries. Time to flush the toilet.
Voting at 7pm instead of 8am woudl have the same result. The country is screwed.
Please Lord, let us replace these tired old people who have lost their fight, with some strong Conservatives. These men have been in the Senate way too long. they have forgotten how to fight the good fight.
Not putting down anyone for getting old, I’m old and I know that things become too much, no matter what the mind says, the strength just gives out. And some of these people never were strong conservatives in the first place, and this whole fight wasn’t with whole heartedness in the starting out.
Come on conservatives, we have got to take back the GOP!!
On December 22nd, 2009 at 6:18 pm,
.
Yep. Until a half an hour ago I was raring to go into 2010 fighting tooth and nail for Republican candidates as an Independent. After seeing this display of cowardly leadership, why should I fight for a party not willing to “fight to the end”. Way to go Mitch McConnell, you have discouraged Conservative Independents at the worst possible moment.
OOPS!!
I meant to say …. this whole fight wasn’t with whole heartedness starting out.
So very, very true. I sent that quote over to Hugh Hewitt to see if I can get a reaction out of him. I hope him and Medved can stop being so completely in the tank for the GOP long enough to use their influence to cry foul and maybe actually get McConnell’s ear.
I grant that and maybe there’s more going on that will make this make more sense so someone please pipe up, but in my experience I’ve learned that sometimes leadership is about the face you show to your troops.
Got a call a bit ago from the RNCC asking for a donation to “beat Harry Reid and Obama”.
I asked him if he was with the same outfit that donated heavily to Dede Scozzafava and when he indicated that he was, I asked him if that was such a smart move.
The line went quiet for about a minute as he must have thought about this, and then went dead after realizing that he probably wasn’t going to get a donation out of me.
When will the Republican leadership(?) wake up to the fact that conservatives ain’t gonna take their brand of BS any more?
Here is your insult to injury.
McConnell is agreeing to move up the health care reform vote so that they can more quickly get to a vote on raising the federal debt limit.
Principle, Red. Since this piece of crap legislation may end Christmas as millions of Americans know it — decimating household incomes, taking away family and loved ones who were ill but won’t get cared for, etc. etc. — it would behoove McConnell and the rest of the Repubs to fight to the bitter end instead of copping out and going home.
Besides, final desperate battles sometimes turn the tide of war. Not always, but they have a higher success percentage than surrender.
The problem here is one that is built into the system: Committed and fanatical idealogues grabbing for money and power will always have more endurance than simple public servants just doing a distasteful job.
Employees/embezzlers trying to rip off the company and leave it a ruin (Democrats) will always have more determination to accomplish the dirty deed than the underappreciated employees who just want to go home for Christmas will have to stop the embezzlers, especially when the clueless boss just fired your friends and promoted the embezzlers above you.
You don’t like it? You think our employees should have a better attitude? You think they should be more willing to sacrifice far more for the puny pay we give them? You think the Republican Senators should be willing to trap themselves in Wahdeecee over Christmas, away from their family and friends just to make things a bit harder on the embezzlers? For those jackasses who elected America’s enemies?
Well, then. Run for office.
It has become obvious that we haven’t had a 2 party system for quite a long time.
Many idioms apply:
2 sides of the same coin,
Good Cop, Bad Cop
Watch the pea, not my hand
Would you prefer walking on one leg or two?
‘Leave the keys, Take the Canolis’.
‘Mikey, I’m smaat. Not Dumb like they say. I was passed ova. I’m your Big Brother &, you watch out for Me??’
“Fredo, just get in the boat and go fishin’.
I have never seen a football game end early because one team could not win.
Another example of reaching across the aisle to come back missing an arm. Hows that working for you McCain?
At least they can’t claim this passage is bi-partisan which they did when one republican congresswimp was bought off.
Well, if we’re going to take back the GOP rather than create a new conservative party, then the new GOP mantra has to be Re-Elect No One 2010.
Especially those that would rather go home than fight to the finish line.
The finish line is already reached. The winners just haven’t picked up their trophy, yet.
This was all a foregone conclusion back in November 2008.
Elections have consequences. Blaming the remaining Republican Senators for the American Voters’ rank stupidity is just plain dumb.
I guess the French aren’t the only cheese eating surrender monkeys!
These metrosexuals aren’t fit to carry the Founding Father’s codpieces!
December 22, 1944, Bastogne. “Aw, Nuts”!
Exactly. I was at the Cal/Stanford football game in 1982. That was the game where the final play was a kickoff with mutiple laterals that ended up running through the Stanford Band. After the game outside the stadium I encountered a Cal fan that was looking sorrowful and asked him what was the matter. He told me he had given up and left the stadium before the final play.
A lesson for Mitch McConnell:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Play
*Pathetic; DeMint and Coburn have their work cut out for them; I’m sure those 2 did not agree to this; Would we have a USA if the patriots of 1776 had that type of attitude?; No way!
Famous quotes:
John Paul Jones: “We have not yet begun to fight!”
Current GOP: “We have not yet begun to grovel!”
Don’t forget the “politician’s creed”. Something congress always keeps in the back of its mind: Me, first, party second, country third.
This is my grown-up Christmas wish, too!
THIS Republican party has got to go. We conservatives are much better off without them. In fact, we can’t afford friends like this.
THIS Republican party is not ready for 2010 and you noseholders need to abandon your futile hope that the Tea Party movement is destined to find itself in the lap of the GOP. We weren’t the “stupid” part of “the stupid party” and we don’t ever plan to be.
So long as the face of the GOP continues to be McCain, Graham, Boehner, Cantor, Steele, McConnell and the rest, the GOP is going to continue to flounder as the party that stands for nothing. If you noseholders don’t want to be fighting people like me next year and beyond, fix your pathetic party’s problem. Replace your leadership! Time is running out. It’s almost 2010 already.
(BTW, someone here owes me and RedState’s Erick Erickson an apology from yesterday. You know who you are. Professor Irwin Corey? Are you here?)
I was in the middle of drafting an e-mail to both of my GOP senators to urge them to stall/fight and make them read it over the entire Christmas weekend when I received a phone call from my son. His back had gone out while shoveling snow and when I arrived at the house he is renting he was face down in the passenger seat clutching his cell phone in one hand, but unable to move. I was able to get him into my X-terra and drove in terrible road conditions to the emergency room. It took 4 paramedics to help get him out of the vehicle safely. Not a great way to start the Christmas season and now the spineless GOP are tucking their tails between their tails and running away again. The perfect icing on the cake!
Thank God he has (I guess the key word should be HAD after reading this bit of news) good medical insurance thanks to the evil capitalistic slave drivers at Wal-Mart, which should take care of most of the costs. All is well after being released from the hospital with a significant amount of pain killer in him and he will be staying with us until his follow-up with his doctor on Monday.
What type of medical service can he or we expect in the future? Will we have to take a number like in the DMV waiting on some soulless bored bureaucrat to decide if his cries of pain are worthy of treating? It is all I can do to control my rage at these cowards the least they could do is fight like the very life of the Republic depends on it (which it did).
Boomer – you see how much better off we’d be if we had elected McCain – we’d be getting the same package in 2010 instead of 2009 in the interest of reaching across the aisle of course.
And this is why they’re going the way of the Whigs.
conservativesRus this really has become no country for old GOP men/women. It is time to drain the swamp! Time to send out the pink slips!
Is that literally or figuratively?
My elephant memory escapes me.
Term limits works for me. Or ACTIVE RECALL ELECTIONS. U.S. Senate? 2 terms max, 12 years, goodbye. House of Representatives? 4 terms max (8 years)(2 years each), goodbye.
Even better: Hang all members of congress after two terms, avoid spreading the disease.
Maybe little Mitch (McConnell) wants a nappy nap?….aww let me tuck you in…(with a swift kick in the @ss, is the way I feel)…This is why the GOP is becoming the ‘third party’, and this nonsense of ‘we must not vote outside of the GOP structure as conservatives’ is becoming more and more crazy, and less and less rational.
In the end it will be the American People who either save or screw themselves…Those that want to ‘save America’ had better not slip back to the ‘Lesser Of Two Evils’ voting mode after this point.
Moreover, be wary of anyone who wants to transfer to the GOP when they had no problem being Democrat as a politician or activist (within the last 20 years).
Well…ahem…I am in the minority here but I am going to type on. Staying to “fight” until the night of Christmas Eve just doesn’t seem to serve a purpose to me except in delaying the inevitable. The second quarter is over; it’s halftime now. It is time to stop the fighting and the sleazy politics to be with family and friends to celebrate the birth of Christ. It is Christmas, after all.
We shall fight them on YAWWWWWWN beaches, we will, will…hold on a minute I need to lay down…
What was I saying, fight? right? night?
Oh yeah, Good night… zzzzzzzzzz
A couple of hours ago, Powerline’s Scott Johnson posted a good chunk of Andrew McCarthy’s brilliant analysis of what ails the GOP.
The money quote (among many):
Republicans are all tactics while the Democrats are willing to take electoral losses in strategizing their end game of turning America into a European-style socialist culture.
We can’t afford to support THIS
RepublicanAssistant Democratic party. It’s no longer an option. By facilitating the Democratic agenda with their small-minded and empty-headed tactics, they have become a bigger problem than the Dems themselves. We need leaders who are on our and share our passion and commitment.Correction (wouldn’t you know it?)
We need leaders who are on our SIDE and share our passion and commitment.
My disgust for these bastards truly knows no bounds.
“Senator” Mary the Harlot Landfill sold out the nation for a $300 million reach-around, and “Senator” Nelson did the same for a similar payout. Every democrat in the senate is an economic illiterate, and just about every republican is a gutless turd.
To Hell with the entire freakin lot of them!!
Time for Jim DeMint to be GOP Senate leader.
McConnell lost his mind, and chutzpah a LONG time ago.
Heck, put John McCain as senate leader. At least he rallies the troops and is adamant in going against Obama and the democrats’ insane policies.
Mc Connell, McShame among the other Country Club repubs, let ‘em go, their cutting their own throats let ‘em bleed out we don’t need these bums. McShame showed he didn’t have fight in last years election, what a whimp he has become. He can milk that H.H. only for so long…he’s done.
These guys make me sick when I see them on the tube and know that’s what’s representing us…no representation.
Oh yeah? where was that last year in Nov.? He is not the hero you want him to be.
This thought was reinforced every time I saw him standing with Lieberdoom at his side.
If you have a Republican Senator greet them with the same torches and pitchforks you would greet a Democrat with. What unprincipled cowards.
William Kristol, Weekly Standard
It ain’t over. They need to stay and represent me.
John Wayne, where are you?
Oh, and say ‘hi’ to Mr. Reagan.
I’m watching Nightly News with Jim Lehrer where it was revealed that the pharmaceutical companies alone spent over $2 billion lobbying this bill. The clincher is that the rules don’t require that who spent money lobbying who or even which lobbyist was lobbying who and for what. A perfect system for breeding corruption.
And now will the “too big to fail” banks be allowed to grow even bigger to help launder all of those narco-dollars into the only dollar-based economy large enough absorb all of that dirty cash? Yeah, these are the guys I want fighting that battle.
One more correction.
The clincher is that the rules don’t require that who spent money lobbying who or even which lobbyist was lobbying who and for what BE REVEALED. (I swear… g-r-r=r-r-r)
So what party will “conservatives” now support and lend their votes?
John Wayne had a great quote “Life is hard, it’s harder if your stupid.” The GOP makes their political lives much harder buy being stupid. They are the stupid party.
The majority of our elected representatives could not draw water for the likes of Adams, Jefferson, Witherspoon, Livingston, Washington, etc. Can you see the current crop of elected officials pledging their lives, fortunes and sacred honor for this country?
Fred Reed described Congress as “535 commoditized temple monkeys pawing through the ruins of America looking for bribes”. He was too nice.
All Democrats and nearly all Republicans in Congress are wastes of human flesh. They are gutless pieces of trash not worthy of our support. They are self serving, depraved idiots, hell bent on setting themselves up for retirement and along the way, creating bureaucracies to further their own ideological nonsense that AMerican citizens don’t want, but inexplicably, they force down our throat.
They all suck.
Hey! Welcome back to earth! Or were you time traveling somewhere? Let me get you up to speed with what you missed. We had a wild time with something called the Tea Party this year. There is too much to explain in one comment but now that you’re back, look into it. Don’t bother reading the newspapers. They left the planet years ago and haven’t returned. Better to Google it or search this web site. Lots of good stories about it.
Welcome back!
Repubs should have made them stay until the last gd second. It’s called a spite check in chess; and it is 100% justified. We show comity, while they call us every disgusting name under the sun for protesting this bill that will bankrupt the country.
Color me: Soooooooo flipping sick of gutless Republicans.
Hey Phil:
*FYI, if Sarah Palin becomes a candidate for President in 2012, it will be as a Republican!; Take that to the bank!
*The various Tea Parties must coalesce around a singular purpose, and that is to target for removal from office all Dems and all RINO’s, and then proceed to remake the GOP into as pure an entity as is possible; They badly need a unified “hub” website to identify candidates to support and those to target for removal.
bjc: You just don’t get it. If Sarah stomps all over the Republicans and rides a wave of conservative victories (Dem and Rep) next year that she, Dick Armey and the Tea Party people (me) orchestrated, that would be a great thing. That would be a NEW PURGED Republican party. Should Sarah turn out to be just another RINO over the next year or so, screw her. It’s not about Republicans, it’s about conservativism.
Next year won’t be about Republicans taking back power, it will be a war against all incumbents.
So if you plan on voting Republican no matter what and are looking for friends, you are in the wrong place. Let me direct you to RINO Central, also known as Townhall.com. Go to their blog and knock yourself out. Nothing but noseholding myrmidons over there. Enjoy.
This evokes an image of a bunch of tired old men who raised the white flag so they could limp and gimp off the battlefield on their canes and walkers. They stayed to long, past their usefulness and now all they can think about is the fireplace and mommy calling them home to the overstuffed chair. It’s a good thing we didn’t have to depend on them in Iraq and now Afghanistan.
McCain may have been good in the battles of Viet Nam but it took everything out of him. All he wants to do now is be a moderate, a RINO. Your not needed or wanted anymore McCain. Your only proving that it doesn’t take a backbone to be a RINO. Either move across the isle or get the hell out of the seat for a good conservative.
Let the damn country go down the toilet and go on home.
John McCain is trying to use this to raise money for his PAC!
Oh, really?
Bovine Excrement!
All this talk about them going home makes me laugh. Most of these morons have established themselves very comfortably in D.C. Going home just means a limo ride across town or into some comfy suburb. The only time they call their home state home is when they need to be elected, which I hope ends soon.
So who’s going to replace McConnell? We need someone with a spine. Hard to find in the GOP.
Oh, really, RINO?
What the hell has taken you so long??! You wait until after the bill has gotten it’s needed 60 votes
You’re a pathetic joke of a Republican, McRINO.
It’s good to be home. The Army had me away at a school for the last three months or so without internet/phone/news/etc. (Good times…) It’s nice to see folks awakening from the Republican spell. It gives me hope for the upcoming Congressional elections. I believe the message base and communications base are being formed, but leaders, not just one guy, but at the local level, are needed desperately now. We need decent, well-qualified folks to run for office, as well as the capital to run their campaigns. McCain-Feingold certainly isn’t helping there, but it can be done.
Gotta give the leftists credit. They have their plan and they are making it work. They know the GOP weaknesses and are taking advantage. Sad but true. Until the right finds someone with a pair, who is likeable, and articulate, and that can win the favor of the young as well, we might as well all get used to eating a lot of crap sandwiches. OT..did anyone see msn.com’s top 11 most influential women of the year? Ya think Palin was one of those? What a crappy list!
I’m not on board with the “throw all of them out” mentality. I’m from Oklahoma, and we’re blessed and we have blessed the nation with two excellent conservative senators: Tom Coburn and Jim Inhofe. The day either of those two leave office is a sad day for America.
And there’s your answer, Ron. Coburn or Inhofe as minority leader. It’s the answer.

Personally, I have become a fan of those fine gentleman over the past two years. All in all, I would rather like to see them as majority leaders this time next year. Unfortunately, I am stuck with Cantwell and Murray.
if it was up to me, i would have had them all walk out after the first vote. let america and the world know the democrats have 100% control. boycott the bastard democrats. turn our backs on them. and keep your cash in your pocket, all of it.
It was this same weak knee, pandering attitude that lost the last elections and laid the groundwork for this liberal fascist takeover of the country. if these people don’t learn how to fight and sacrifice we’ll never see the end of this disaster. Go ahead Mitch, you and your whiny flunkies go home for Christmas while the rest of the hard working, freedom loving Americans prepare to be stripped of their fortunes and liberties so your leftist buddies in congress and the White House can pay off the social parasites that put the in office.
BREAKING NEWS:
A politician lied.
Update at 11:00…and 11:01, 11:02, 11:03, 11:04…….
Isn’t it your side prompting this? When do you have enough of this and cross over? Come into the light Chap.
There, fixed it.
I saw Grahamnesty on Greta last night. I turned the channel. I saw McLame on something else. I turned the channel. I’m tired of all their lies.
If the GOP looks tired and want to go home, let them go. But they should turn in their badges on the way out and let someone else do the job you are being paid to do.
I have no sympathy for cowards. They have betrayed our trust.
Note to self: stock up on batteries.
I suppose McConnell is just being a realist – ObamaCare is a fait accompli. But I would still like to see a bit more snarl, just to remind voters that this lousy plan is NOT the Republicans idea.
Prompting what, exactly? The vote on the debt limit increase? Or the vote being pushed so close to Christmas?
I wish they would go home…and stay home. Maybe they should meet once a year to pass a budget. The country might be better off.
Ironically, while some of us will awake on December 25th to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas – the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior – we will also be mourning the death of America.
As America continues to turn it’s back on God it is no surprise we are turning into a humanistic socialist wasteland that now looks to the government for all our needs while being pushed into debt we can never get out of by the same government.
God have mercy on America.
AND at the same time, speak of their own plans and ideas that were never given a moment of thought by the Democrats. Never stop the drumbeat. Remind the public what they could have had, had they not voted for the clean, articulate, smart, historical black guy.
This is not over. As I suspected, the States Attorneys General are lining up to challenge the constitutionality of the sweetheart deals and the coming law itself.
This is a long way from being done. But the Republicans should at least make a case to the American people on the criminality inherent in this thing. Aside from a very few, most of them appear clueless on how to be leaders in this war on the Constitution and the middle class.
I guess that the “white flag” will become the official symbol of the tired old Republican Party. Everyday they prove to us that they should be thrown out of office.
Yeah, isnt it great we have a Constitution standing in the way? /sarc off.
Remember the Alamo!
Those guys knew what was going to happen and they were all going to be killed.
They didn’t leave or surrender when the opportunity was still there.
Or the 300 Spartans.
Both of these knew that their job was to die while delaying and inflicting as much damage as possible
Our Repub leaders have neither courage nor honor
Demand the bill be read! Let’s hear all 2100+ pages!!!
Hope the movie, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is run in loops the whole time they are home.
It will remind them of the ‘character’ they do not exhibit.
