Rejected AARP solicitation of the day

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 22, 2009 09:47 AM

Reader Laurie helped launch the rejected AARP solicitation of the day feature last month.

YAF/Hot Air TV special correspondent Jason Mattera spoke truth to AARP fat cat power last week.

In that same spirit, reader Brian of Florida sends along today’s rejected AARP solicitation the day. He e-mails this morning:

A few weeks back, after telling my father about AARP’s support of Obamacare, he cut up his and Mom’s AARP cards, sent them back, and demanded a refund. Couple days ago, he got the refund. Today Dad tells me they got a letter from AARP selling insurance. So I helped him fill it out and send it back… enjoy, and Merry Christmas!

Excellent! I hope they lose more support. Their solicitations go right back to them with curt messages.

    Idiots!

These are among the most aggregious corporate sellouts, GE and big Union included in the rogues gallery. They’d betray their own families not to mention America for the promise of their own personal financial gain.

I hope there are historians working to document this historic and tragic betrayal of a country.

    The sad thing is:

Once AARP can no longer remain profitable, the current government will step in to prevent it from failing (see GM). We will be paying for AARP with our tax dollars.

    The only course of action:

Vote them all out in 2010.

Most blue hairs have know for quite a while that the AARP is a lib front organization. This should be no surprise to them.

All of these “progressive” bills and initiatives add up to a concerted, systematic looting of middle class America. Once that is accomplished, we will all have no remaining political or legal options – including the libs who participated in the crime. Ironic.

The AARP is first and foremost an insurance company.

In their shortsightedness and quest for profit from selling Medicare supplement polices they fail to see the big picture; that Obamacare will reduce the average lifespan of all Americans, thus reducing profitability.

In fact I would like to see some republican member of congress ask the CBO how Obamacare will affect the solvency of Social Security and Medicare. That answer alone could sink Obamacare once and for all.

I don’t think so. It appears the fix is already in.

A couple of years ago, I bought life insurance AARP was selling through NY Life, for it was an excellent group deal at HALF the price everyone else was charging for life insurance at my age. When I got mad about AARP shining Obama’s shoes I asked NY Life if I had to be a member of AARP to keep the deal and they said NO, I could dump AARP and still keep the insurance at the same rate. I chose not to renew AARP. Hell with them.

I never was much of a fan of AARP, but with my Dad’s encouragement once, and a good deal, I signed up. I refused to renew and the mail goes into the trash, unopened.

Lots of Americans do not know that AARP has been subsidized with taxpayers’ dollars (not sure, something like close to 700 MILLION.) I’ll find the link to post. Took me five letters to get off their mailing lists–they were big supporters of Obama during the campaign.

These Debtocrap politicians have their fingers in their ears and they are not listening to their constituents. They have said that they expect to weather the 2010 election cycle just fine.

One thing will wake them up sooner: if their registration numbers start to leak away.

If one of your relatives is both irritated by Obamacare and is still a registered Democrat, get them to change their registration to something/anything else.

It’d be wonderful if this becomes widespread reaction to XmasDeathcare.

graysonret: Stuff their return envelope with all the junk mail you get that week (pizza coupons, flyers for lawn mowing or dog-sitting services, etc. and throw in some extra material from your home shredder just to make it messy) and mail it back to them in THEIR envelope. They have to pay the postage!

The bigger payoffs come from liberal politicians….so yes, they back the liberal agenda, and have for a very long time.

    Regrettably, they prbably will.
Feed the masses some more soma and American Idol and they’ll go back to sleep.

I was wondering about 1994 takeover of Congress.
Usually there is a 90+% retention for incumbents.
Was there a lot of retirements or did we beat that average somehow?

I have to admit, I love American Idol and wouldn’t miss it! I need the break from reality for just a little while!! I have even gone to three American Idol summer tour concerts here in MN. I am a “seasoned citizen”. And, I have all of Clay’s CD’s. Don’t think less of me…please.

My wife gets the AARP mail for my in-laws. I’d do the same with their mail, but that’s mail tampering, which is against the law, though rule of law no longer applies. Plus, my father-in-law won’t speak English, and I refuse to speak to him in spanish, so I’m not sure it messing with his mail would even matter since he probably even read it.
