Report: Fort Hood jihadist spiritual advisor allegedly killed in Yemen raid

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 24, 2009 04:11 AM

Yesterday, ABC News reported that al Qaeda recruiter and Fort Hood jihadist spiritual advisor Anwar al Awlaki was asked by Nidal Hasan if it was okay to kill American soldiers.

After mocking U.S. intelligence in an interview with al Jazeera, Reuters is reporting early this morning that Awlaki has been killed in a military strike in Yemen:

A radical Muslim preacher linked by U.S. intelligence to a gunman who killed 13 people at a U.S. Army base is believed to have died in a Yemen airstrike on al Qaeda militants, a security official said on Thursday.

“Anwar al Awlaki is suspected to be dead (in the air raid),” said the Yemeni official, who asked not to be identified. Yemen said 30 militants were killed in the strike in the eastern province of Shabwa.

He counseled the 9/11 jihadists, hailed Hasan as a “hero” last month, and has been on the lam since 2002.

The question isn’t whether it was right to kill him.

The question is: What took so damned long?

***

Side question: Are the soldiers involved in the military strike going to be court-martialed like those 3 Navy SEALs? Because Awlaki sustained much more than a punch to the stomach.

I will consider this a Christmas present from Secretary Gates, and the US Military.

Obama gets no credit, until liberals start admitting President Bush deserves some credit for 8 years of dead terrorists.

Enjoy your virgin goats boys, it’s going to be a long eternity.

I would also like to pause and acknowledge the awesome American Military-Industrial Complex, a.k.a. The Arsenal of Democracy.

I believe the Tomahawk Cruise Missile did this job, launched from a US Navy Destroyer or possibly a submarine.

Thank goodness Obama hasn’t gotten around to canceling these programs yet.

If our President will get half as tough with the enemies of our country as he is with the conservatives in America, we have a chance to win this war.

    Yes we can!

Hasan had discussed martyrdom with Awlaki, asking when jihad is appropriate, and whether it is permissible if there are innocents killed in a suicide attack. Hasan also told Awlaki he looked forward to seeing him in the afterlife and sharing non-alcoholic wine.

He’s waiting for you, Hasan. The sooner you plead guilty, the sooner you can whine with him in that place “where their worm dieth not.” That’s how you’ll know there’s no alcohol in your drink — the worm will still be alive and swimming around in your glass.

Maybe we needed a President who supported acting (and encourages others to act) on actionable intelligence in countries other than Iraq and Afghanistan.

    Side Question

What Yemen does to it’s own military personnel is their own business. The linked article suggested it was the Yemeni military that carried out the raid. Though if it were a US raid, the rules of conduct are different when under fire and when prisoners are held.

And, as for the Navy Seals, they should have been given nothing more than a good talking to, reminding them how to treat prisoners. Period.

    From the Reuters article:

The United States cooperates closely with Yemen in combating al Qaeda militancy.

My question is, how closely does Yemen cooperate with the U.S.?

Pentagon officials were not immediately available to comment on any U.S. involvement in the raid.

    I thought so.

“Anwar al Awlaki is suspected to be dead (in the air raid),” said the Yemeni official, who asked not to be identified.

    A Yemeni official said.
And I should believe a Yemeni offical because…?

I’ll believe this story when a U.S. military official who knows, and who has no ties to the socialists in our government, confirms the death of this animal.
Otherwise, as far as I am concerned, this could very well be an example of taqiyya.

Sorry to feel this way, but this is merely one more result of where the destruction of our once beautiful, wonderful country by the socialist / statist / collectivist / opposite-world view disease has brought us: We “cooperate” with a muslim barbarian regime as we struggle to defend our civilization.

Little comfort here: Yemen and Arabia are quite late in killing the jihadi–while Arabia is still funding jihadist schools and movements all over the world-including here. This particular jihadi group was a threat to the Arabian Royal Family and that is the only reason they were killed. The Wahhabi Invasion of America continues, Wahhabi schools in America continue. This was an in house dispute and not part of the war on “Man Made Disasters”.

Hussein Obama and the traitors of the left continue to stop us from using coal and our own oil and gas to escape Arab oil dependence. Treason it is. Yes we are to be glad Anwar al Awlaki is dead. But if we take the more generous view that ONLY 10% of mohammedans are jihadi that leaves 99,999,999 to go.

But what are 3,000 dead Americans in New York-13 at Fort Hood, The Cole, the Embassies, The El Al counter in LA, Mall shootings as long as we have diversity?

Treason is not too strong a term. Allah Akbar Mr. President, All Power to the Soviet.

OK, this probably is just a conspiracy theory, but I put nothing past Obama. The reason for the secrecy in releasing documents related to Hasan’s involvement with wacko jihadist by the federal government, and the news that Anwar al Awacko may have been killed, are both related to suppressing information direcly related to Obama that he does not want to see the light of day.

Whether Alwacko is dead or just presumed dead isn’t impotant, just that he won’t talk anymore.

According to a Breitbart article here, Hasan had emailed this nutball about killing US soldiers.

I wonder who dropped the ball on finding these emails? I wonder how they concluded he was only conducting “research”….unless they decided asking about killing US soldiers wasn’t unusual for a Muslim.

If they knew he was emailing a normal jihadi, was it political correctness that kept them from digging deeper into his emails?
