Corruptocrat Chris Dodd gets his comeuppance

Charter member of the Team Obama Culture of Corruption
Corruptocrat Chris Dodd secured a Hospital Helper in the Demcare bill, has happily exploited the swine flu to expand the role of government, and made sanctimonious noises about banking regulatory reform to cover his own lying, sordid record as the Senator from Countrywide, but the voters in his state aren’t fooled.
His poll numbers continue to crater — and over the holiday weekend, Dodd was greeted as only a corruptocrat should be greeted after helping shepherd the Cash for Cloture health care takeovers through the Senate, via WTNH:
Sen. Chris Dodd (D) returned home to Connecticut this afternoon following a historic vote this morning in the Senate that will reform health care.
Dodd is facing a tough re-election bid and at least one man at Bradley International Airport let him know just how tough it will be.
“You’re not gonna get re-elected,” the man said.
“Nice. Merry Christmas,” Dodd responded.
New Year’s wish: As Dodd goes in 2010, so goes the Democrat grip on Washington…

Dodd and Obama: Corrupt birds of a feather
by Michelle Malkin

Everything you need to know about false Hope and Change can be found in one picture: The image of President Obama embracing embattled Sen. Chris Dodd.
The embattled Democrat is in deep doo-doo over his Countrywide sweetheart home loan deals, corporate bailout cash, and crony associations. New revelations by Countrywide whistle-blower Robert Feinberg confirm what more and more of Sen. Dodd’s constituents in Connecticut are coming to realize: He’s a lying crapweasel. Dodd denied knowledge of the special treatment the sub-prime mortgage company had given him and Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad on home loans. (Dodd’s were worth more than $800,000). Feinberg flatly contradicted him in secret testimony on the Hill this week.
Connecticut voters are not smiling about Dodd’s hypocritical bashing of lobbyists on the airwaves while he parties with them behind closed doors. And as they scrimp through the recession, they haven’t forgotten about Dodd’s dozy Irish cottage deal with convicted insider trader Edward Downe, Jr. (who received a Clinton pardon with Dodd’s generous help). Sandra Harris, an unaffiliated voter from West Hartford, told the Hartford Courant: “I’ve lost respect for him…It’s time for a change.” A Quinnipiac poll now shows that 60 percent of key independent voters disapprove of Dodd.
But Dodd’s cratering numbers and mounting ethics scandal aren’t just about Dodd. Damaged birds of a feather flock together. Even before these latest disclosures, Dodd’s approval ratings had dropped to their lowest levels ever. Yet, President Obama – agent of the “new politics,” erstwhile Breath of Fresh Air, guarantor of all that is good and clean in Washington — declared his support for Dodd’s 2010 re-election campaign bid.
“I can’t say it any clearer: I will be helping Chris Dodd because he deserves the help,” President Obama announced in April. “He just has an extraordinary record of accomplishment, and I think the people of Connecticut will come to recognize that.”
Obama progressives should cringe at their president’s bear hug of one of the most ethically-compromised politicians on Capitol Hill. The Beltway swamp is teeming with Democratic corruption scandals (Pennsylvania congressman John Murtha’s earmark factory and tax-subsidized airports and radars to nowhere; New York representative Charlie Rangel’s rent-controlled apartment scams and tax scandals; California representative Maxine Waters’s business ties to a minority-owned bank that received $12 million in TARP money under smelly circumstances, for starters). But Dodd’s career epitomizes the most fetid aspects of Washington’s culture of corruption. It’s a textbook case of nepotism, self-dealing, back-scratching, corporate lobbying, government favors, and entrenched incumbency.
When he launched his presidential bid in February 2007, Barack Obama inspired millions and rallied the world with his pledge to “build a more hopeful America.” He told a cheering crowd in Springfield, Illinois, land of Lincoln, that he recognized “that there is a certain presumptuousness in this, a certain audacity to this announcement. I know that I have not spent a long time learning the ways of Washington, but I have been there long enough to know that the ways of Washington have to change.”
Two years later, Barack Obama declared his support for an entrenched U.S. Senator drowning in the decrepit old politics of pay-for-play.
Two years later, at an “historic and “unprecedented” record pace, Barack Obama presided over a heap of botched nominations, crony appointments, lobbyist paybacks, union and left-wing activist payoffs, and abandoned promises to make government more transparent and accountable to ordinary Americans.
“Washington is broken,” Obama lamented on the campaign trail. Yet, under President Obama, the business of Washington is booming. The collapse of the Era of HopeNChangeyness demonstrates the first and last law of political physics: As government grows, corruption flows. Massive new federal spending plus tens of thousands of pages of new regulations plus unprecedented new powers over taxpayers and the economy ensure limitless new opportunities for sleaze, favor-trading, deal-cutting, and influence-peddling.
The president’s dwindling blind faithful may still cling to the belief that he can work miracles. But no one, not even Barack Obama, can drain a swamp by flooding it.

The false Hope and Change grifters such as Dodd will get their comeuppance if and when they face the gallows for Treason.
So Dodd gets defeated-who is Connecticut going to replace him with–another Lieberman? Dodd WILL get a nice cushy job with some well funded Non Governmental Agency. If he pays taxes on the limousine service is to be seen.
Yes indeed, Senator Dodd. That would be a very merry Christmas.
“…following a historic vote this morning in the Senate that will reform health care.”
Media bias? What media bias?
I hope dodd is one of many d’s who get the un-employment notice by voters in 2010.
L
Dodd should go with Obama to Hawaii and work on his tan.
There are sooooooooo many concession speeches that I’m looking forward to hearing, I’ve lost count. This crook is on top of my list along with Reid, Pelosi, Frank and Shumer. We’ll find out just how wise, or stupid, their voters are in about ten months.
“I can’t say it any clearer: I will be helping Chris Dodd because he needs my help,” President Obama announced in April. “He just has an extraordinary record of fraud and corruption, and I think the people of Connecticut will come to recognize that.”
Wow, he’s really white!
Dodd needs to be added to the “no fly” list…
Sometimes I think this current crop of statist doesn’t care if they’re re-elected. They are all eligible for 7 figure+ salaries in the energy and medical sectors if they need work later.
Cretin.
I want to see Dudd and Bawny Fwank on the end of a short rope, a very short rope…drop length about 2.5 inches. These 2 lying, corrupt bastards are liable for the misery they’ve put on millions of people. They were/are the architects of the financial disaster America finds herself in.
How many years has it been, and FINALLY the people of Conn. are getting rid of Chris DUDD!
I like Joe Lieberman, but, he isn’t a whole lot better.
There has to be a good Christian Conservative Republican in Conn. who can run and win.
Throw the bums ‘in’, jail.
From the VTNH link:
Ha! (note how amused I am!). No sooner does he proclaim his amusement at this silly dot-connecting, he drops Ted Kennedy’s name, and lets it slip that he visited Saintly Senator’s grave at Arlington.
Kennedy’s grave is easy to find, it’s the only one with a headstone of a half buried Oldsmobile sticking out of the ground.
I’m not only looking forward to more concession speeches, I’m standing by to “pipe ashore” more of Barry Soetoro’s CZARs.
Does it matter whether or not the GOP retakes Congress? President Zero will rule by Czars and bureaucracy.
Dear Santa:
Please, oh please, please, please bring me a Republican majority in the House and Senate for Christmas 2010! If I’m aslightly bad boy, can I at least get a more balanced split? America needs this Santa.
Wouldn’t the appropriate “comeuppance” be jail time? An angry Connecticut citizen is great and all, but it means nothing if Dodd somehow manages to get elected again. =|
I’d have a difficult time being even that polite to the POS.
Yes Chris Dodd IS white-not only that but he has WHITE hair so he must be a racist.
===
a half buried Oldsmobile sticking out of the ground. Thank you Rogue-made me smile
He hasn’t gotten the comeuppance yet, IMHO. When he’s booted out of office will be a start.
You forget it is Congress that controls the purse strings. IF the R’s retake Congress (and actually govern Conservatively) Obama and his Czars can plan all they want, but without the money they can tdo anything.
Let’s pray the polls hold up and this piece of dirt is shown the door.
Not only should he lose his seat, he should never have another job in any future administration.
It would not surprise me if he lost his seat and was then named Obama’s Czar of Lending. He would be in charge of making sure that Dem’s (and R’s that will play alon) get “special” rates with lenders while making the paperwork disappear.
I’ll believe it when I see it. People may talk big but when it’s time to pull the lever, they know that Dodd has brought a lot of pork to the state and with his long time Senate run is on all the proper committees for influence pedaling. He is bringing home the bacon. Stolen goods or not, the Dems in Conn will come out in mass to keep their cash cow alive.
See Sen. Edward Kennedy for proof. He committed an extremely vile act and yet, he was a Senator for life. LIFE!
People don’t bite the hand that feeds them.
We are all now feeling the pain of the chronic overspending created by pork infested bills. I think we have reached the point where it isn’t feeding us anymore. All that money came from someone’s pocket and now the pockets are empty and so is the treasury.
People in Connecticut need to man up and start loving their country more than the guy who “brings home the bacon.” If Dodd gets reelected, or all the other bozos who have really hurt America and Americans get reelected, we will be in even more kimchee.
Errah,
LOL! Don’t worry, got seats down here for the lot of them; although Bawney’s has a big splinter sticking up out of the middle of it! Little does ole Chris know that his advanced age his stealin, lyin and cheating days are almost over and there’s a sod suit and Mr. Grimm waiting for him. Hope the ole ticker can hold out after the election. Boy will he be surprised . . .
Sad but oh, so true. Missouri went so far to elect a dead guy. His kids are still living on that legacy, both in office.
Well, here’s the man to beat him: Peter Schiff.
Looking at the Most Senior members of the House and Senate at Kennedy’s funeral I saw some Distinguished Gentleman who certainly LOOKED dead-I was just waiting for them to fall down.
Two from Michigan, Carl Levin and John Dingell, look as if they were already embalmed.
Errah, It’s really not surprising at all if you look at the map of congressional districts and see how they have been gerrymandered to get the offsetting liberal votes from inside cities out into the suburbs to counter whatever republican/conservative votes cast. The results of elections can’t and won’t change till some common sense is brought back to congressional districts and who represents an area.
All those dead voters needed representation.
Reminds me of a home where the kid is a gang member. All of a sudden, the kid has new Air Jordans, a fancy cell phone, new gang banger clothing, new stereo, and maybe even a fancy new car, even though he doesn’t have a job.
His parents must know that it is ill gotten gains but they don’t care. They don’t turn him in, they don’t even criticise because they reap some of the benefits of his drug sale profit, or robbery or extortion money.
They live higher on the hog due to the illegal activity but they can’t be charged with a crime so they let it be. Same with the people in Massachussets or Connecticut, or Louisiana, or Nebraska.
It takes a person of real character to stand up and return the stolen money or turn in the benefactor when they could get away with it. See John Gotti’s neighborhood. He passed out money to keep people quiet. Those who didn’t want the money were promised something else.
I don’t think for a second the Dems have plans to lose all those seats. They have been planning this stuff for a decade. They have a strategerey up their sleeve.
Congress is one of the few places that when you are fired by the voters you get retirement pay. This is another perk that should be removed. The only reason that corrupt politicians stay in office is the voters, and the voters are the blame. This guy didn’t get corrupt over night!
Ref obamas remark that Washington is broken. It was badly bent, now it is broken.
I just hope we’re smart about what we do with the Republican grip that replaces it.
RWR
http://www.rightwingrocker.com
aloha guy, you are absolutely correct. st louis city and kansas city both have the day of the living dead every election day. the problem is the two city gubmints are both one party democrat cess pools, so voter fraud is wayyy down on the crime scale. they have to worry about how to pay 200,000 gubmint workers from the wages of 100,000 lawyers abusing the STUPID AND CROOKED jury pool, and doctors and nurses patching up the maimed victims of violent crime.
Obama got elected on the promise of “change.” Most of his voters had no idea what he meant by change other than getting rid of Bush. But his idea of change was to “fundamentally remake America”.
Neither America nor it’s constitution needs to be remade. It’s Washington that needs to be remade. That tapeworm has grown so large it is starving the rest of the country, yet is continues to grow.
Republicans need to run on their own mantra of change. They need to promise to fundamentally remake Washington on a much smaller scale so the country can prosper again.
Close. It’s the only one with a wet bar.
I’d rather watch Night of the Living Dead than be represented by them.
…and the “attracts flies” list.
Yeah, after all these years Connecticut just needs to get to know their crooked senator to appreciate him. Is Obama saying: “He may be a crook Connecticut, but he is your crook.”?
I’d love to see Dodd and Frank in jail, myself……’course Bawny would just love that! He’d be right at home as someone’s “special shower buddy” …….
A bit off topic:
I still think all taxpayers should get a cool million bucks back toward ending the recession.
Those not paying taxes should be thankful we are ending the recession so they can get a job.
There is alot more to the Dodd 100 million dollar hospital boondoggle that has not been investigated. Dodd’s 100 million in taxpayer’s money would go to the John Dempsey Medical Center. The John Dempsey Medical Center in Connecticut was a white elephant the day that it was built in the 1970s. Its construction was marked by corruption and ever increasing costs beyond what anybody in state government ever told the citizens of Ct. And it has been a colossal waste of money ever since. It has never been fully utilized and it always has scores of empty beds and employees with little to do all day. Ct. has an overabundance of hospitals already and there was no need for the Dempsey Medical Center when it was built or now. And then here comes the worst. None of the executives at Dempsey Medical Center was clamoring for the 100 million dollars. Dodd has never said how the money should be used and nobody at the Dempsey Medical Center has a clue either, since they never asked for the money in the first place. It is yet another attempt to make the superannuated Dodd look good.
But let’s not underestimate Dodd’s ability to get reelected. He will have millions of special interest money to be on the tube all day long for months. He has already had many commercials on the tube and the election is a year away. And having a grabbag of scandals does not hurt politicians in Ct. Anywhere else Dodd would be a dead duck. But Ct. is just plain weird.
Here’s hoping Dodd joins his bosom buddy Teddy K soon. Somewhere down there a crapweasel liberal waitress is looking for two fat guys to make a sandwich with.
Dodd’s gots no worries…ACORN is Back and they are busy registering brand new “legal” voters that are sure to vote for the Dodd Dude. They won’t show up in any polls because…..well because they don’t actually exist. But come rain snow or blizzard they will vote, who knows perhaps they already have?…….
yep, and hopefully it will be foiled before the votes come in, otherwise pray hard and look up.
More on Dodd’s corruption, linked to airport security, via Drudge:
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Sen-Dodd-D-Conn-slashed-aviation-security-funding-for-pet-constituency-80209967.html
The amendment was also sponsored by Sen. Lieberman, D-Conn., and Sen. Carper, D-Del.,
Why so many conservatives love Joe Lieberman is indeed beyond me. Yes on SOME national security issues he hangs tough–but just what kind of country does that socialist sob want to defend?
You will be happy to know that local CT radio guy Jim Vicevich (www.radioviceonline.com) spent the morning making sure that CT voters are aware of this latest chapter in Comerade Chris Dodd the Fraud’s book of corruption.
CT voters are some of the biggest fools in the country. It’s their support, their votes, that keeps this giant loser in office. The same with the other members of the New England Corruption Crew. It’s not about serving the country, it’s about getting yourself a permanent, taxpayer-provided membership into the Elite echilons of American society.
Americans have never looked past politics to the bigger picture. That’s why the likes of Dodd and Obummer stick around, give us the finger, and give pretty speeches like they care. Americans cannot see past political parties to what’s happening. They’re too interested in getting “theirs” such as welfare, social security, medicaid, medicare, all the bennies without any of the work.
All at the expense of our national security and our military.
