Massachusetts Miracle: Election night liveblog; Update: BROWN WINS, COAKLEY CONCEDES; Brown victory speech cheers: “41!41!41!”

The shot heard ’round the world
Scroll for updates…The Tea Party comes full circle
The polls just closed in Massachusetts, so I’m starting a fresh thread.
A few live resources you’ll want to bookmark tonight:
*Pollster.com is liveblogging here.
*73Wire.com is livestreaming from Brown HQ here.
*RedMassGroup is liveblogging here.
*MyFoxBoston has live results here.
I’ll also continue to update the voter fraud thread with any breaking developments.
While we wait for the results, I wanted to share a wonderful e-mail from Nancy Ockers, who made this sign that I’ve been posting the past few days:

(Photo via R.S. McCain)
Nancy writes:
Hi Michelle-
My husband just saw the picture of our sign on your website. It is the hand painted sign saying Put Scott Brown in the People’s Seat. I made it with my 9 year old son who carried it in a rally for Scott Brown here in Middleboro, Massachusetts. We were thrilled that you liked it!
I just wanted to let you know a little about that sign. I am 41 years old and have never in my life helped out in a political campaign. I was so repulsed by the behind the scenes dealing with the terrifying health care bill that I simply had to act. When I heard about the Nebraska Medicaid deal, I immediately contacted Scott Brown’s campaign and volunteered to make phone calls. Scott Brown seems to be a smart, rational, even keeled person who will represent our state well in Washington. I am enthusiastically waiting for the polls to close!
Since his campaign ran out of printed signs (due to high demand), we made our own! If those in Washington are concerned about what happened in Massachusetts, they can thank Sen. Nelson.
Several readers have also requested that I re-post that rousing “Massachusetts Miracle” video. You got it:
***
Update 8:13pm Eastern. Rasmussen did an Election Night survey of 1,000 voters. Preliminary findings:
* Among those who decided how they would vote in the past few days, Coakley has a slight edge, 47% to 41%.
* Coakley also has a big advantage among those who made up their mind more than a month ago.
* Seventy-six percent (76%) of voters for Brown said they were voting for him rather than against Coakley.
* Sixty-six percent (66%) of Coakley voters said they were voting for her rather than against Brown.
* 22% of Democrats voted for Brown. That is generally consistent with pre-election polling.
***
Update 8:30pm Eastern. Early, early results are in. AP has Brown 52% Coakley 47%, with 116 of 2168 precincts reporting.
Update 9:07pm Eastern. 60 percent reporting, Brown up by 7 percent.
A few swing towns have swung Brown’s way, including Leicester and Ashland.
Town-by-town votes are here.
***
Update 8:56pm Eastern. With 36% precincts in, Brown is up 52-47.
Update: 9:31pm Eastern. Traffic was overwhelming and both MM.com and HotAir.com went down. We’re back up and as you’ve heard by now, Brown has won the race and Coakley has conceded, and there are more long faces at MSNBC than at an aardvark convention.
Sweet, sweet victory.
Update 10:03pm Eastern. Coakley gives her concession speech. Because this time, she can’t phone it in. She’s barely mustering enough energy to speak. Coakley says her dogs are very happy about the outcome. In a strange tribute to her campaign workers, she calls them her “extended dysfunctional family.”
She ended her speech: “The dream lives on.” Or rather, her delusions of grandeur.
Update 10:35pm Eastern. Brown speaks. “I bet they can hear this cheering all the way in Washington, D.C!”
Crowd cheers: “41! 41! 41!”
“This seat belongs to no one person. It is the people’s seat. I’m ready to go to Washington without the delay.”
Full prepared remarks here.

Hot Air’s server is jammed up as well. Everybody’s doing the happy dance tonight.
Thank you Michelle for staying in the fight and making a difference. Culture of Corruption played a huge part in this return to sanity.
“We the People”…
were heard tonight. Thank God.
Absolutely thrilled.
God bless Scott Brown and the people of Massachusetts for electing him.
Sweet, sweet victory as Michelle says.
Aside from the day Dodd resigned, THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF THE YEAR FOR ME SO FAR!!! I have a feeling there will be more like it come November. Ironic how Kennedy’s life was spent trying to get this health care sham passed, and his death is possibly the cause for it going down in flames.
Olbermann is killing me! Ow! My sides!
“Brown hasn’t even TRIED to disprove that he’s a racist, homophobe, tea-bagging, sexist, supporter of violence against women”.
Well, Olbermann, you’re an idiot. Try to dispove that.
(“disprove”)
I thought you were using the Bwaney Fwank voice.
So, the mighty ACORNS, MoveOns and the Unions couldn’t hold off the Massachusetts Electorate from sacking their castle in the clouds?
If I’m a Blue Dog somewhere out there in Middle America right now, I guess I’m feeling like an English Lord waiting for William Wallace to close in.
We need Dear Leader and Kerry to campain for Nanny and Harry stat. Looks like your 0 for 4 there Barry. Please keep up the good work!!
Nice! McDonnell of Va. just took office, along with Christie of N.J.. The liberals should be starting to panic now. The name calling and smear campaigns will increase. More meetings in the WH, too.
“Gas up the truck”
Gas up the truck!
I just spit my hot buttered rum all over the place!
“41″
Wow… I can’t remember the last time I flipped over to MSNBC or CNN. I just HAD to… They all look like someone just killed their dog(s). Olberdork says that they need to hurry up the votes before Brown is sworn in. What a freakin’ idiot! Does he not realize that, as of now, Kirk cannot vote, because he is no longer a Senator? What am I saying? Of course he doesn’t realize that, because, well,… he’s a freakin’ idiot!
The People’s SEAT!!! Right On, Right On, Right On.
“Seat him now!”
Now do you suppose we could get Barry to campaign for Nanny and Reid?
Zero for four there Dear Leader. Please keep up the good work!
Dream on, sister.
In a way she is correct. Their nightmare has just begun. Enjoy the dream Progressives!
Well, this ought to piss off some people.
I hereby withdraw my petition that the “M” be dropped from “Massachusetts.”
We are blessed to live in a land where these things happen without violence.
For the first time in a long time, I feel a little hope, thanks to this change.
The “dream” died on the morning of July 19, 1969. A liberally-biased, national media is what lived on.
Gas up the truck?
Hell no! RACE the TRUCK! RACE the TRUCK! Someone needs to do up a political cartoon, in color, with a big BROWN UPS truck parked in front of the White House with “US” in the logo on the side, and the caption “Sir, there’s a man out front who says he’s here to deliver a message.” in a word balloon over the building! I think that needs to be a poster too!
Olbermann is insane. Arianna Huffington is on right now, and Olbermann suggested that it was a curse that Brown’s daughter is also named “Arianna”, suggesting that Brown’s acceptance speech because some mix of “American Idol” and “Who Wants to be a Senator?”. Huffington looked at him like the idiot that he is, and is now “respectfully” disagreeing with Rachel Madcow about her take on this election. Huffington says that Obama better wake up and “course correct” in the right direction. The people don’t want what Obama is trying to sell, namely this healthcare bill.
Wow. That Arianna Huffington is so easily persuaded to jump a sinking ship! She has no soul.
Dangnabit! I was so giddy when the election results came in that I forgot to start drinking! I’ve got great El Paso Chili Company Margarita mix and Jose Cuervo tequila here and I completely forgot to get it out!
Is it too early to start celebrating the death of Obamacare yet? Now THAT’s worth a good drink in celebration!
Great speech!
You think you can get the IDIOTS in SF and LA to vote conservative you are dreaming. No way in heck will this be repeated here in California.
Quick OT the bridge on Sirius just played Miracles by Jefferson Airplane kind of appropriate!
Solid A+
I guess it is a miracle considering what a rigged, Dem political environment Massachussetts usually is.
If I were a vulnerable Dem running for reelection (yeah you Harry Reid) I’d be really concerned for my political future.
And that goes for any RINO (like CAO) who voted for any of these Dem catastrophes (like Stimulus or Obamacare).
There is hope. This is our “Trenton”. A small victory, but a victory nonetheless. The liberals are shook. Defeating the healthcare takover will be our “Saratoga”; the November elections our “Yorktown”. Keeping the pressure up will be our victory.
How fitting was it that a lackluster candidate couldn’t end a concession speech with her own words? Weak sauce.
I am so speechless. WOW.
“Mr. Obama, tear down that wall.”
Rats from a sinking ship. It’s already starting!!
Politico: The fallout: Democrats rethinking health care bill
Party on fellow tea partiers.
wow
I love it!!! He’s political in his victory speach! This guy is going places. Congratulations, Sen. Brown.
republicanvet, you are hilarious!
More Tequila.
On California… when the state’s budget completely causes the state gov’t to collapse, and there’s no more benefit dollars flowing to voters, they’ll change their tune about taxation and voting Democrat. I’ll bet money on that.
40 billion in the hole and counting still… The clock’s ticking on CA and the US, and we’re ina race to stop the hemmoraging in 2010.
THANK YOU MASSACHUSETTES!!!!
I’m actually feeling giddy right now with how the night in MA is turning out.
“Mary Jo, Mary Jo, Mary Jo”
I’m thinking President Scott Brown here.
This guy is exceptional.
Scott says he offered to drive the truck to Washington so that Obama could see it.
He also proposed that Obama pick his best basketball player, and that he (Scott) and Aiyla would take them on.
And that Obama could criticize him and his politics all he wanted, but that when he started in on the truck, that was going too far.
And yes, his beautiful wife is finally out of the closet, and standing proudly beside her man.
Now that Brown has won the Mass. Senate seat, we are dependent on him for a full year as a stop to Obama; Brown’s ascendency could still be hazardous to conservatives nationally.
Hope for the best, but keep your eyes open.
My goodness what a great speech about the Constitution and not protecting terrorists. Love this guy.
Hate to say it, but have felt some tingles.
Go USA! What a great day for this country. He GETS IT!
Is the irony in this incredible? On the night a republican takes the seat that Ted Kennedy had for 47 years, the same Ted Kennedy that drove a car into a lake and walked away. Very, very poor choice of words, idiot!
Did anyone see Glenn Becks show today? It’s going to be interesting as he believes that the PROGRESSIVES are going to put the pedal to the metal now.
They are really going to start pushing their agenda now. Not that they haven’t been the past year though.
Like Rouge says munching popcorn more cheese gromint.
Yes and no. We are dependent on RINO’s also understanding what happened tonight.
May we have many, many more Scott Brown moments.
One small battle, but a great night!!!
This is how I am feeling tonight.
Can you dig it?
from “The Warriors”
My only wish was that Ted Kennedy would have been alive to see this. It probably would have killed him.
They just said on WCVB – the TV station where Gail Huff [Brown] works – that Hyannis – Teddy’s hometown – went to Scott Brown!
Less tyranny, more freedom thx 2 Massachusetts
From all accounts tonight, Keith Olbermann’s scintilla of relevance is melting away quicker than the Wicked Witch of the West.
I hope MSNBC gives this guy a lifetime contract.
Time to take back America from the deadly grip of liberal progressives. We’ve still got 2 more election cycles before a reasonable cleansing can happen, so don’t party yet.
Wow….Great speech….laid down the gauntlet.
One more Michelle should change the wording on the globe to say it was the Scott heard around the world!!!!!
Poor Rachel looks so forlorn!
I guess there won’t be any scissoring tonight.
You are right, Republicanvet…perhaps your point is even more significant than mine…now as I think about it…
Your bummin’ my buzz dude. Yup, a lot of work ahead but tonight is PARTY TIME!
Americans, everywhere, are pissed at the Democrats blatant disregard for the constitution and the country’s best interests.
Could this be a precursor to November?
HAHAHA good one!!!!
LOL-I literally spit coke on the computer.
It depends on how quickly the chameleons can change their spots.
Given Van Hollen’s comments in the article I linked earlier in which they are vowing to continue to blame Bush, I think the chameleons are still confused.
I wont cheer until it is certified.
Democrats are famous around my parts for “finding” ballots.
As the government teeters on the precipice of unleashing an economic and social monster of untold proportions, the people wake in the nick of time from their dream state of hopenchange, ironically by replacing the bill’s mastermind with the bill’s likely blocker.
A year ago, I wrote off the majority of Americans as hopelessly stupid. But now…not so much. The people are on to these brats now. Playtime is now concluded. Thank you, Massachusetts voters.
However, this is just one small step toward sanity. There’s a lot more work to do. Keep up the hard work, everyone, and I’ll do what I can.
In 2012 Scott Brown will have 2 years in the US Senate, plus however many terms he served in the MA senate. If he starts now, and can convince the country that a 30 year career in the national guard is as good as being a community organizer, maybe he can be president?
Seriously, Thanks Massachusetts; we don’t always agree, but you do seem to come through when it’s important.
Flipped over to msnbc during the Brown victory speech and they were running commercials! When it did come back O-douche was speaking over it.
What a great night. I feel better about the future of this country than any time since Hope and Change raised it’s ugly head on the political scene. Mr. President, you and your fellow progressives may think of this as an anniversary present from the Tea Party, with many more to come. Prediction: We won’t be hearing any more snide comments from Dem politicians about tea-baggers, at least not in public.
I broke out a fine London Porter I’ve been saving for a special occasion.
I plan on gloating a little and rubbing the libs faces in it, a lot, and then its time to put the pedal down, all the way down, its time for the full court, press, body slam for an everything win in November.
Better than veto proof!
That has to be the goal.
A great big North Carolina “THANK YOU” to the Patriots of Massachusetts! Looks like you got to fire off the first shot AGAIN… over 230 years later!
Like most of you I watched the election on the 3 cable networks (CNN,MSNBC,FOX). I really believe all the commentators missed the biggest factor which influenced the vote in Mass. The power of the internet!
Neither CNN nor MSNBC carried the speech (at the beginning anyway).
Best tingle line for me:
Thank you, Scott Brown for those words.
Scissor me timbers!
Thank You, God, for hearing the prayers of Your people. There is much to do, and the fight has just begun. But with Your help, we will reclaim that precious liberty that You have bestowed upon us, and will cherish it once more, never to let it slip through our fingers again.
Thank you, voters of MA. You might have just saved the Republic.
Someone needs to feed this into The One’s teleprompter: The American people aren’t ready to let you wreck their country. Stop your Marxism NOW.
Thanks be to God!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the shouts of “Yes, We Can!” in the Brown crowd tonight!!
Strike 3 for Obama.
Oh to be a fly on the wall at Pelosi’s or Reid’s house!
I just came home from work to find this terrific news! Thank you, Mass. friends!
Va, NJ, Mass. Who’s next?
Over at AOSHQ we’re all drunk.
But had to stop and say EPIC!
I thought Olby was gonna stroke out!
Tomorrow we wake to Dems in apoplexy!
Sweet.
Welcome to the new talking points. Obama is always running against Bush, even a year into his own Presidency. They probably think they can gain traction by shifting from healthcare to the economy and blame it on Bush. It’s way to late, but let them try….
Warning – Vulagr alert…
She must feel like she’s been tea-bagged…
100% just ticked in as Paxton reported in.
Brown=51.94%
Coakley=47.07%
Kennedy=0.99%
It’s Brown at by 4.87% barring late arriving absentee ballots.
{^_^}
Back in washington on Pennsylvania avenue, a shriek was heard, followed up by this scene.
…and barry says “It’s not fair, it’s not fair, I wanna die!!”
I’m starting to think that Obama really is a miracle worker.
He’s certainly brought the GOP back from the dead.
Now pleas allow me a slight outburst.
YEEEESSSSSSSSS!
{^_-}
Whew, I’m exhausted! And all I did was follow the vote count. What a day! I like what Palin said: Brown didn’t call in any outside help–he did it on his own. Keep stumping in November Obowma, Kerry, etc!
Happy Days are here again!!!
As I read somewhere, written by someone else:
The Scott Heard Round the World!
This is the second of many more defeats for the Progressives / Communists in Congress and the Administration.
Indeed.

It’s too late Barney. Don’t try that conciliatory crap now. You’re a corrupt, lying excuse for a human being. We’ll be coming for your seat ASAP!
And to Dingy Harry: Dude, your days are numbered!
Recorded the Rachel Maddow show and Im just getting around to watching the whole thing. I seriously need to start turning msnbc back on and learning spin from the far lefts point of view.
Three things Ive learned so far:
) Massachusetts is NOT a BLUE state but has elected 4 out of the last 5 governors as Republicans, therefore it is a RED state and cannot be considered remotely liberal
) Coakley lost because Mass. is sexist and hates women
) This was only a local election and had nothing to do with anything remotely considered national
This is incredible news, because transparency has finally arrived! Speaking truth to power Rachel!
Got your “change” right here, Obama!
Whoopee! There’s the change I’ve been hoping for!
The Boston T.E.A. Party c. 2010. God Bless America! Long live the Republic!
