The Twitter-meter: Just how upset are liberals about Massachusetts?; Update: Roger Ebert pouts

Regular readers of this blog know that liberal hate mail is an inevitability. But there’s been a considerable uptick in unhinged nasty-grams as Martha Antoinette Coakley’s campaign collapsed over the past week.
Just how upset are liberals about the Massachusetts/Obama meltdown?
Take a look (language warning as always):

Wow…don’t you just love the civility of those progressives…?
The louder the screams, the closer the arrow to the mark, I say.
Lovely.
That’s all right. Coakley conceded, game over. Let them rant.
They wouldn’t be sending them if you were failing. I would accept them as tributes to success. You have all of us conservative zombies enthralled and ready to march on your every command. LOL!
I’m going to enjoy the writhing..break out the popcorn…
I don’t know what these clowns are looking at.
Twitter? No thanks.
Our MM is lovely, kind, and smart. She is the voice of American Conservatives. She is the conscience of the GOP. And a terrific writer.
If my columns (on North Star National — /shameless plug off) were half as good as hers, I could feed my family comfortably just on my writing skills.
Keep it up, Michelle. We LOVE you!
And yet – they all go sexual in their hatred…
Paging Dr. Freud…
M/M Sticks and Stones!
Keep up the good work.
We’re with you 100%!
Gotta love those decent, inclusive, diverse, “above the fray” liberals.
Hey Charles Johnson, take a look at Michelle’s post. Seems like as good a time as any to start your own thread for comments, huh? Let’s compare and contrast…
The sounds of wailing and gnashing of teeth is music to my ears.
Liberals showing their lack of class. Vulgar, ignorant and full of hate.
Wow! the lefty-loonies are so articulate.(/sarc) is this the result of our fine public education system?
Democrats = Bottom dwellers.
Two middle fingers up for you Mr Ebert.
I liked Howard Deans comment the best so far. “it was Bush’s fault’!
It’s not 2008 anymore.
At one time, Ebert was a decent film critic. Then he decided he was So Much More. Now he is the shrill shill, whose view of his self-importance is without limit. This could have been a sobering, grown-up moment for him. It wasn’t and I doubt there ever will be one.
I guess these tweets are funny to some, but I don’t think they are worth printing.
Michelle should apply the old Supreme Court porno standard: must have some redeeming social value. Or, at least only show those that are witty at least.
Has Michael Moore declared that he will boycott Massachusetts yet?
what is it with libs and sex?
Do they kiss their mothers with the same mouth?
Ebert got full of himself when his opinions and face started showing up in the pre-trailers of dvd’s. Thinks he’s a moviestar now, I guess.
This vile hatred is evil. May God forgive them.
@Obama: How’s that “I won” thing working out for you?
Is there a suicide watch on Keith OberUnderbite? How about Chris “Tingly” Matthews?
Sucks to be them tonight.
Hopefully the corporate recruiters and employers out there will be monitoring these pinheads and take appropriate action. Who would want to be a customer when you have disgusting employees like these?
He’s nothing without Siskel. We should all email him that. It will drive him nuts.
Most of these wingnuts probably don’t have jobs – living im mom’s basement and all…
Chris Matthews’ ‘tingle’ down his leg just went to tinkle.
*These liberals need to do 2 things pronto; Get a proper education and then, once aquired, take their wrath out on P-BO and his Communist Clown Cluster; The Democrats are truly the “Death to America” party!
Twitter is gay.
SOOOOOOOOOOO GAY.
Sure is a lot of deleted comments tonight
ol’ Chris was at a tavern Dem campaign spot looking all bitter and pouty, not only besmirching Brown but our military, saying “Obama showed that our military’s at its best like in Haiti, not overseas, and we should prove it more by having it do more good here at home.”
Aw, too bad, Chris ol’ boy!

I’d expect nothing else from these pigs…from these domestic enemies of ours.
Sorry folks, but every now and then one just has to tell it like it is.
Okay, celebration is over, time to get back to work and starting targeting all of your local Progressives.
It is a target rich environment and we have lots to get done before November2010.
Wow. Ebert finally gets it!
Sore loosers can be so ugly. Buh-bye, loosers!
Agreed. Now we need to take at least 10 more senate seats and 35 house seats. Let’s roll.
The closer you get to the target, the more flak you take…..Take it to them, Michelle.
I quote Drill Instructor Sgt. Buckley when I say, “Ahhh. Poor little wee wah!”
What some idiot at Huffington poo said..
- + ZsaZsa / The fact that a Mass. politician can get punished for not knowing who Curt Schilling is reminds me why I hate politics. And it reminds me why I hate Boston sports teams.
I knew there was a reason I stopped watching Ebert.
That is of course directed towards Ebert et al.
Indeed.
Time to take back America from the deadly grip of liberal progressives. We’ve still got 2 more election cycles before a reasonable cleansing can happen, so don’t party yet.
Michelle, you are obviously hitting the target directly in the center!! The left can’t debate with intelligence so they resort to vile name calling and toilet talk.
No class losers.
Aside from the Kennedy platitudes, an impressive speech from Brown. His is right on concerning taxes, the health care fiasco in D.C., and no new rights for terrorists.
This is the difference between these liberal nuts and conservatives. Conservatives can deliver a meaningful speech in victory or defeat without childish name-calling and vulgar statements. But then again, if you are a childish liberal I guess the only thing you can do is to engage in name calling and vulgarisms.
Can’t wait to hear the “insightful” analysis from the likes of Keith Olberman and Joy Dahar.
Rachael Maddow, MSNBC said “I hope the Republicans and the teabaggers have learned their lesson tonight. They now know they can’t demand that the country do things their way. Obama is now going to pull further to the left and in that way will force Republicans to come over further left too”.
These people are totally nuts.
The Ebert remark really surprised me. How incredibly low class. We Bay Staters were good enough for them when we voted their way, but when we decide that enough is enough, they have a snit fit.
Fortunately, Ebert is an inconsequential toadie, and all the more so with this tirade of his.
Whoopi Goldberg will be ripping her eyebrows out!
Oh wait….
Me to Ebert: Did you see the tweet from Mary Jo Kopechne? No? Wonder why …
I will refrain from saying “F..k you”, Roger.
On second thought, Roger, STFU!!
Libs prefer commentators of undetermined gender, such as R. Maddow, or clear mental illness, such as K. Olbermann. What a loathsome crew. Then there’s the A. Huffington, who sort of combines the worst of all worlds.
One of the Huffpo’s said “Another stolen election.”BDS and then some.LMAO
You know what they say Michelle, when you are over the target is when you get the flack … bombs away.
IMHO graciousness in victory is even more important than graciousness in defeat.
And as much as I detested Ted Kennedy – both for his politics and his immoral behavior – the fact remains that he did look out for the interests of his home state. Like Tip O’Neal, Ted understood that all politics is local.
So I have no problem with Scott’s gracious acknowledgment of the Kennedy legacy, a legacy that extends back to 1952 when John F. Kennedy was elected to the same senate seat that Scott Brown was just elected to.
I admire Lib’s civility and passion for tolerance.
They could have used guns to crush the dissent!
Oh wait, Libs don’t believe in 2nd Amendment rights for the individuals.
Ouch!
Please don’t imagine what Joy[less] Behar will say. *ugh*
My husband insists on watching the other side, so at this moment Rachel Maddow is
gracingpolluting the TV screen.Time for me to go to bed – it’s that or hurl.
Their party still holds the majority, so their obscene, seething rage when losing any battle is baffling, though not surprising. To some extent, the despicable rhetoric would be amusing if it wasn’t prevalent, but unfortunately, comments like these are not a rarity. Time for these individuals to get some anger management counseling. Seriously.
I am not offended by vulgarity, or at least not easily. But these things are just ridiculous. You’re such a lovely woman; passionate, articulate, and professional to boot. Totally unwarranted vitriol. May God bless you throughout, and may these things simply roll off your back.
Michelle, the libs on the Seattle Times Forum are cussing and crying too. I LOVE it! I took a few shots from a lib from Canada and all I could do was laugh as I am sure you are doing too.

Like the Air Force guys say, “When you’re taking flak you know you are over the target!”

Bombs Away, Michelle! Keep up the good work. And the Massachusetts Miracle freedom video was fantastic!

Remember, EVERY single one of them voted for Obama. His base?
The funny thing is; we hear constantly how much smarter liberals are than those troglodite conservatives and especially those “unwashed, racist tea-baggers”. Strangely, those geniuses only seem to be able to come up with words of one syllable, even that pillar of good taste Roger Ebert.
As one of those unwashed, racist tea-baggers I can only say; Heh.
Roger Ebert: What a useless waste of oxygen. Typical idiot liberal windbag. I looked at his twitter account, what a rude, condescending piece of gutter trash.
Let the lame libs whine! We know the tide has turned, and we know that the American electorate is awake and is now stalking all of the Socialist Dems.
Michelle, we all love you!
Scott Brown, go to Washington, man, and do great things!
Re Roger Ebert’s tweet:It’s about effing time. They should have told Teddy to eff off 40 effing years ago.To bad the Shizbag had to die before Mass. woke up.
“Massachusetts to Teddy: F–k you.”
-ebertchicago
I find myself in the unprecedented position of now agreeing with the State of Massachusetts twice in one day.
The progressives are kind when they win (albeit a bit arrogant), but when they lose, civility goes right out the door.Oh, and per President Obama’s “I won.” statement? Throw that right out. He has stumped for three major electiosn where Democrats were in danger, and his stumping produced…….a loss…….in all three (Mass. Senate Election, and Gubernatorials in Virginia [where the GOP enjoyed a clean sweep] and New Jersey). You “won”, Mr. President? Sure looks like a shaky statement now, doesn’t it? In your campaigns, it looks like Mr. Obama is 1 and 3, for a whopping .250 winning percentage….
Reading the noxious tweets above, I had a mental picture of the authors — open sores, smoking skin, vomiting green goo, flailing about spastically…
“IT BURNS! IT BURNSSSS!!!!”
These tweeters probably reveal more about their own pettiness and ignorance than they realize.
Ted Kennedy. Senator from Chappaquidick, slime master extraordinaire, defamer of countless conservatives. For the way he conducted himself, a pity he lived as long as he did. No one did more to build and maintain the wall between political wings than he. Now, maybe we have an adult in that seat. This for sure: The level of slander will go way down.
FINALLY; the people of massachusetts BORKED ted. too bad it was sooo long in coming.
Progressives are allegedly the more educated and open minded but you will notice the more they lose the more childish they become. These so called intellectuals seem to need a lot of four letter words to communicate.
hahahahahaha…..
Liberals are “Such Intellectuals”. (Sarcasm.
“Progressives” pppfffttt. What a laugh. Is there a more vulgar set of human beings on the planet?
Question asked and absolutely correctly answered!
A master stroke!
Kudos to you!!
If any of those sore looser liberals were decent human beings I would offer a bit of sympathy…but I guess a great big Razzzberry will be the best I can offer them.
Ebert? What a waste. Like all those other beings that think because they have a TV show their opinions matter so much more than mine (Oprah, Larry King, Montel, Letterman).
Did anyone else read Ebert’s ‘open letter to Rush Limbaugh’? Careful there, Ebert, don’t soil your diaper.
Let em all freeze in hell with Teddy. Who cares? They are dog poop on the bottom of my shoe.
A Republican takes the senate seat held for 40+ years by Teddy Kennedy… because of voter anger over healthcare legislation (Teddy’s signature issue).
Oh, the sweet, sweet irony! Savor it!
Well, personally speaking….Michele, I think you have a great ass
hey, i’m a guy, it’s what i do.
