There have been many times in the last two years when we’ve been attacked by the Left, and we’ve thought about just giving all of this up and going back to who we were before 2008. Writing for this site takes a lot out of us, physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, you name it. Our quality of life suffers, because we have to skip fun things we’d like to do because we have essays to write and strategy to get out to you. We do this because we don’t see anyone else doing it, and if we weren’t at this, the Left would win a small victory…since their goal is, clearly, to shut down all opposition and harass anyone who opposes them into submission.
You know you are getting to these Kossacks and Moveon.org-anisms when they come after you.
That means you are on to something, and they are afraid, so they throw everything they have at you to scare you into shutting up and running away.
After two years of this abuse heaped on us, it barely registers anymore. Not even when they cross a line and start attacking us personally, in our personal lives, the way some of them did yesterday. What may have scared us a few years ago instead just makes us get on a phone to a lawyer to begin procedures against these would-be bullies.
It is absolutely no fun standing up to Alinksy Methods and radical tactics. It is hard, hard work. You will be maligned for standing your ground. You will be personally attacked by these nuts if you are successful and they see you as some sort of threat. Somewhere, perhaps even originated at the White House itself, hit lists are made for distribution to the current president’s armies of trolls, orcs, and goblins, telling them whom to harass each week.
Michelle Malkin gets this. Glenn Beck gets it. Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Erik Erikson, Dennis Miller, and anyone else challenging the Left gets it.
We are in the very strange position now, as moderate Democrats, to be on the receiving end of this garbage ourselves, joining other PUMAs out there who’ve been targeted by the nutroots for refusing to be silenced as we watch Liberals on the far left destroy what used to be the Democrat Party.
They are furious at us for helping Scott Brown win on Tuesday. They are enraged we decided to do whatever we could to draw support to his campaign, and to mitigate any attacks the Left could make against Brown.
They are angry we’re goading Republicans to have a battle plan for January 20th, since the Left wants conservatives, moderates, and the entire GOP to drink themselves stupid celebrating on January 19th, so that the Left can find a way to keep Brown from being seated in the days after that — when Republicans normally go into hibernation and stop paying any attention to what’s going on.
We are not going to let that happen.

Michelle and company have only been telling you for years about the nutroots, but you moderates tolerated them to the point they’ve grown in to an uncontrollable mob. Join the NRA and stand your ground.
This proves the point Glen Beck made the other day on how the progessives don’t care about either party. They will try to destroy anyone in thier way.I hope more snsible democrats will wise up to that fact.
Oh come on, give these guys a break. They have been honest, supportive of conservative candidates, and courageous in standing up to the radical wing of their party.

I linked to Monica Crowleys’s article and post on this topic The Return Of 42. Bill Clinton met with Barack H Obama to give him some advice. I think it’s a mistake to underestimate Bill Clinton at anytime, anywhere but the Obama administration isn’t strong on their learning from history….If I was Barack H Obama, I would be watching my back….a smear campaign against Hillbuzz- Hillary Clinton supporters. Not very SMART.
Good thing Michelle doesn’t have to deal with personal attacks from those bags of meat with lipstick.

The Democrats are a massive assortment of one issue organizations. Civil war has begun. Republicans need to keep out of their feuds and allow them to self destruct. I have no idea who will prevail.

This post reminds me of why a donk one-party state would resemble not so much the impotent socialism of Europe, but more Stalin’s Soviet Union or the French Revolution: Once the kulaks/royalists (i.e., Republicans) are all rounded up and imprisoned or liquidated, the purge trials and the reign of terror won’t stop, but refocus on those among the party who aren’t sufficiently “pure.”
In donkey utopia, you’ll first have the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with Michelle, Limbaugh and Coulter in the re-education camp; but if you last long enough you’ll get to meet people like Joe Lieberman, Ed Koch, and the guys from Hillbuzz, too.

There is no such thing as a “moderate democrat” in the form of a politician, that does not mean there are such voters, however.

Hangfire you nailed it. Texas was a pure democrat state until sometime in the 80′s. I don’t think they have a single statewide office now and haven’t for a few cycles. I don’t think you can blame Texans for running from that brand.

The difference between the Democrats and the Israelis is that the Israelis DO something with a coalition government.

Mixed feelings on this. Nobody deserves the abuse and threats of the far left. Plus these guys are working to restore sanity and civility of discourse to this country and even are helping advance conservative candidates.
But these people are Hillary supporters. Don’t they realize Hillary Clinton is an expert at class warfare and demonizing her opponents? She has done more than her fair share in enabling the far-left wackos that are now turning their wrath on them.
If they want to remain Democrats fine, that is their choice and and I wish them luck trying to restore sanity there. But they need to find a candidate that will vigorously denounce the nuts on the far left, not court their support as Clinton has. Are there any left in the Democrat Party?

The NRA ratings are very one-dimensional, only reflecting votes on gun issues. John Dingell (D-MI) has a high rating, but most NRA members would probably disagree with him on everything else political.

Maybe it’s just me, but the Hillbuzz folks seem a little weak. Is it really “hard hard work” to have a bunch of unhinged wackos verbally attacking you. Whatever happened to “talk to the hand”? Why not counter attack the crack heads?
If these are the same people who wrote a very respectful article on George Bush, then I have a lot of respect for them and no they don’t deserve relentless attacks. Nevertheless, if your going to be in the political pundit business you need thick skin and the ability to defend yourself.

The Democrats haven’t run a “moderate” for President since HHH in ’68. Yeah, they’ve run a couple MASQUERADING as moderates – Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton – but since the 60s they’ve been the Party of McGovern, all the way.
I like the folks at Hillbuzz. They have been incredibly decent, civil, and seem to have a deeper understanding of what is right than the Dems I am used to reading. They know where the line is, and they have yet to cross it. That they support Hillary may be a game chanhger later, when she runs again we will see where they stand. For right now, they have me as a dedicated reader. I suspect, too, that they put truth above party, and will continue to do so even if they have to use their brutal honesty against her.

There is a difference between Progressives and Liberals I know many people think they are the same thing but they aren’t the Progressives are what came out of The New Left. That’s not the same thing as a Liberal Democrat, in fact when polled, the Progressives are a small fraction of the Democrat Party…they just have money bags – George Soros funding them. Evan Bayh is afraid enough of them, that he only refers to them as the Far Left Wing of The Democrat Party, he knows very well who they are aka THE NEW LEFT. Barack H Obama stated that he was a PROUD PROGRESSIVE.
So yes I can see where there is a split in the Democrat Party, and the Progressive Leadership would have driven them off the political cliff if Coakley won. And that would have done major untold damage to the Democrat Party…I see why PUMAS stepped up.

I don’t expect a hat tip, but I saw the same post a few days ago and posted a comment here at MM with an excerpt of, and a link to, the Hillbuzz post.
I don’t expect that Michelle has time to read all of her comments, so I doubt she saw it, but I’m glad she got to the Hillbuzz post through another route.
It’s also worth noting that while the left paints conservatives as “homophobic”, it appears that far right conservatives are a lot more tolerant of the guys at Hillbuzz (who are gay) than the far left liberals are!
As my father, a B-17 pilot, used to say, “You know you’re over the target when you start getting flak.”

They wrote a very heartfelt piece about their admiration for President Bush, reversing their feelings from earlier last decade, having come to the realization that he and Laura are “good, good people”. Well heck, I feel the same, guys.
