Zzzzz: Two not-so-sharp responses to Obama’s SOTU
Obama was supposed to set a “new tone” in Washington tonight. Don’t think he meant the tone to sound like snoring.
Janet Napolitano should have brought her Snuggie to the State of the Union Address. Here she is putting the “nap” in Napolitano:

(hat tip: Cristy Li)
Harry Reid forgot to drink his Red Bull, too: Zzzzzzz.

I saw Harry’s yawn, too. That was the only time I’ve agreed with Harry on anything.
Big Sis asleep on duty?
Oh, how deliciously fitting is that?.
We can all sleep soundly and comfortably knowing that our all-knowing, all-seeing Sec of Homeland Security is on the ball, alert, and especially refreshed with the high voltage, energizing words of B. Obama.
I didn’t have any problem staying awake, but then I was too busy marveling at the shear density of the propaganda and lies.
I watched the SOTUS tonight with a 24 year old and a 40 year old.
The younger one asked who the guy was sitting behind the president. Then the older one asked who the woman was sitting next to him and wondered aloud if it was his wife.
We are so screwed if we don’t fight our way through this mess.
Don’t give obama an inch.
The megic negro’s speech may have different effects on different people.
To his followers, it is a kool-aid.
To his Cabinet members (and party leaders), it is a lullaby.
To the Supreme court justices, it is an insult by an arrogant and immature jerk.
To the rest of us, a desparate snake oil salesman.
It’s clear that Harry’s tired of serving the good people of Nevada. The burden is just too heavy. Please remove his burden this November, Nevadans, and let him get some rest.
I, too, started to doze off. Actually watched “Jeopardy” for 20 minutes to wake up. I don’t think I missed much. Came back into it when he said “That’s how you budget” and the Republicans actually laughed out loud. If looks could kill.
“They must think your’re stupid” no…. they know Americans are. Their problem is that they think we are going to get bored and forget about them like we always do. Not this time.
What happened to Obama campaigning on “Ready to lead on Day 1″? Using the argument that the economy is ‘worse than we thought’ and admiting to all the mistakes he has made, only proves his inexperience and that he was nowhere near ready for the Presidency.
“Who are you going to call at 3AM?” Once again Obama has only continued to prove its not him.
I felt like doing a drinking game if only to stay awake through this travesty of a speech.
Instead, I did the ONE thing I hate…laundry!!!
My husband made me listen to “some” of the speech because, as a military member, he wanted to be informed of what the enemy thought and was up to.
I pretty much already knew what he was going to say and the fact that his “magic charisma” doesn’t seem to be working on his own fellow, political travelers is even more compelling.
The speech was a BORE!!! One of the most unappealing, polarizing, contradicting speeches I’ve heard.
This pathetic excuse for a man makes Clinton look like a conservative. An ironic thought if there ever was one.
well, with the head of TSA sleeping on the j*b, there’s no wonder at how her minions perform day to day.
we are in the *very* best of hands….
the nation is safer when she’s sleeping.
I went to bed rather than suffer this speech. From the news reports and commentary, it appears to be a disaster. For once, I support Reid and Napolitano–their rest is far more important than doggedly slogging through a politically horrid nightmare of a SOTU. What little I have heard indicates some of his advisers need to be sent packing. Picking a public fight with the SCOTUS is not wise.
Maybe she has a HUD installed in her eyelids, like Inspector Gadget, and was screening potential terrorist threats to keep us safe? Come on guys. Nothing has happened on her watch. Nappie has been doing one hell of a job!
Reid on the other hand is just an incompetant boob who should be sent out to pasture or the glue factory.
Cut her some slack. Giving Miranda Rights to terrorists can be very hard work.
You are a person of great compassion.
And now all the nation knows why we call the Secretary Nappy
The ‘Next Eligibility Case’ may be viewed by the Supreme Court now — after Obama tries to pick a fight with them in front of Congress and the American people. Keep talking that Jive — perpetual campaigner in chief. The Obama downfall will be the change we can believe in.
Miss Hillary skipped the SOTU speech? Maybe she IS the smartest women-not in America but in the Democratic Party?
Hm. Now there’s an adjective to describe Obama’s speeches:
STUPEFYING
It works on so many levels.
Janet Nap-all-a-time-o!
Let me hasten to add this isn’t exactly the first time we’ve caught Janet asleep on the job.
“Nap”olitano is resting assured as Obama’s SOTU served as yet another distraction for the masses, blissfully unaware of civilian army formation taking place behind the scenes:
Atlas: Citizen Spies
Sleeping and keeping America safe. Sweeeeet!
You forgot one.
To himself, its the Sermon on the Mount.
SSHHHHHHHHH!!!
It is not everyday when you see a politician at their most effective state of readiness.

You’ll be pleased to know last night I asked my almost 15-year-old to identify the two people behind Obama, and he was correct on both counts. Fortunately, the kid wasn’t there to watch the speech in person because what with his snorts of disbelief and howls of laughter, he was far more vocal than Joe Wilson could ever hope to be.
Did I mention he’s homeschooled? I’m so proud.
Hey, politics aside who HASN’T fallen asleep while listening to their boss drone on about…bla…bla…zzzzzzzzz.
That had to have been the most boring and disingenuous speech I’ve ever seen. He may have been praised for oratory before, but that speech wasn’t even remotely good.
His comments on health care were incoherent. He said ‘if you come up with a plan that reduces premiums. . . ‘ his plan didn’t reduce premiums, it just used federal tax dollars to pay for the premiums over a certain amount. Other than those comments he really didn’t say anything different than he’s said for the past 8 months.
His claim that he didn’t negotiate with lobbyists forgets that the UNIONS ARE A LOBBY.
He talked about ‘ENDING’ the war in Iraq and bringing home troops in August. I support bringing our troops home, but don’t you think the rhetorical genius speech writers he has might put it in context of VICTORY? Instead of saying ‘I’m going to end this war and bring home the troops in August’, why not say the same thing by saying ‘Since our soldiers have done so well and have won the peace, we get to bring them home in August’? It’s the same policy but presented in a light of a Commander in Chief that appreciates both the military and victory by that military.
The speech was entirely unimpressive. . . and I was hoping to like it. It’s is exceedingly obvious that Obama only has people around him telling him how right and good he is. That’s a recipe for disaster for him.
She could be praying that the speech will end…
Rahm Emanuel looks pretty blissed out in worship of our Dear Leader.
OH yeah, I also got a kick out of his complaining about the last decade, or the last 10 years. . . TO THE PEOPLE THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM!
Bush was less the problem with spending than congress was. He should have turned around and pointed at the two people behind him who have been DC constituents for the past 30 years and said THEY were the problem.
Bush was never the problem, Congress is the only branch of government with the power of the purse. That 1 T deficit that Obama ‘inherited’ was compliments of Reid and Pelosi, not Bush.
He was complaining about the problem to the people who caused the problem while blaming someone else who has no power at all.
I couldn’t bear to watch Hope-a-Dope drone on and on, but I can envision her waking up with a start and exclaiming, “The System Worked!”(TM)
After all, isn’t that what she did in response to the undy-bomber?
A picture is worth a thousand words. This picture accurately represents the attitude of entire Homeland Security Department.
See the picture within the picture. Sitting just beyond Janet “Nap” is Rahm Emanuel. Rahm looks IN LOVE.
LOL
I am sure if a GOP member had been caught snoozing or Yawning during the liberal diety’s speech…it would have been immediately categorized as: “Hating a Black Man”, or “Racism, Straight up!”.
Janet Incompetano couldn’t help herself, there was little chance of “domestic terrorists” (believers in the Constitution) disrupting the I-I-I, me-me-me speech. 132 mentions of Himself.
He looks evil to me.
Did I miss something? Where are comments #6, #22, $26?
One of the people I was with wanted to know who was the black guy in front of Harry Reed.
Well, hey, let’s give Dingy Harry a break, here! It’s a lot of work making secret deals on a health care plan that HE will never have to submit to.
Was Janet having a Zen moment?
She looks like Professor Umbridge in this photo. They’re probably more alike than not.
Is that Rahm or some illegal alien that slipped past ‘Nappy’?
Hey Michelle, you should put up a link to Mary Katharine Ham’s Snuggie commerical parody.
Asleep at the switch as usual!
***
Nothing new here–Janet Nepolitano has been “asleep at the switch” for a long time. Or sleeping with her hand on the DHS / TSA throttle as the train hurtles for the cliff.
***
Watching Comrade Obama (PBUH), VP Joe Biden, and SanFranNan all together in the picture for a long time is scary. No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 most important people in our government–and the American People don’t have a friend among these clueless clowns.
***
I was able to “tough it out” all the way through The Messiah’s speech as He told us how He plans to “stay the course” of his policies. They have worked so well so far–keep up the good work all the way into the Nov. 2010 elections! The beer and Jack Daniels with cola and lime helped me “dull the pain” a little.
***
I didn’t like the republican response to this speech much. The Sarah’Cuda or John Bolton would have handed The One his head on a plate by comparison. The American Voters will have to do this work in 2010 and 2012–we are toast until then.

Janet NAPolitano.
That was a recent cartoon after the underwear bomber fiasco.
Maybe Janet was dreaming about a time when Obama was getting lots of foreign donations?
President Addresses The Nation “There’s Seventy Minutes I Can Never Get Back”
Yeah, I’m Just Not Feeling It.
What does the President need to do for a bump in the polls hint this isn’t it.
Did The Phrase the President used “I won’t Give Up, Don’t You Give Up” Sound familiar to anyone else? Train “Calling All You Angels.
Just a thought: maybe she’s basking in the overwhelming glow of “Da Won” …
You watched with Chris Matthews?
There are many reasons I turned off this speech after 5 minutes:
-Dohbama is the most boring speaker evah
-I’m tired of wasting my time listening to someone lie to me, repeatedly
-I can’t stand the standing ovations every 5 seconds
-I knew I’d get a good recap from MM and her commenters
However, the #1 reason was because I could no longer watch Nancy Pelosi sitting behind The One. Her bizarre tics and weird grins were driving me nuts – it looks like she can’t fit her teeth in her mouth anymore, maybe the botox has made her mouth too tight.
SLEEPING BEAUTY!
Nah, WITCH from CINDERELLA.
Man-Caused Attention Disaster?
She’s thinking, I could be watching Psych right now!
Howard Fineman -Newsweek thinks the President belongs on Mount Rushmore? He thinks the President dominated the Room last night giving his speech. Really?
http://sarah-palin-2012.blogspot.com/2010/01/give-me-cotton-picking-break.html
Consider the source. Isn’t Fineman the same guy who compared Hope-a-Dope to “God”? Or was that some other toady at Newsweak?
Eject! Eject! Eject!
