Reverse Midas: Obama to campaign for beleaguered Sen. Bennet in Colorado

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 28, 2010 07:20 PM

Oh, goody.

The man whose in-state appearances helped doom Democrats Jon Corzine in New Jersey, Creigh Deeds in Virginia, and Martha Coakley in Massachusetts is now scheduled to campaign for flailing Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet here in Colorado.

President Obama will bring his reverse Midas Touch to the mountain West next month, according to the Denver Post:

The White House has confirmed that President Barack Obama will visit Colorado in February to attend an event with U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet.

White House spokesman Adam Abrams said Thursday that the details are still being worked out.

Craig Hughes, Bennet’s campaign manager, says Obama will be in Colorado to campaign for the senator, who is running for election. A date hasn’t been set.

The latest Rasmussen poll shows Bennett getting blown away by his GOP rivals.

He said he would fall on his sword for Obamacare in November.

Then, he had second thoughts after the Massachusetts miracle.

No worries. Seems like voters have made up their minds — and if the Obama kiss of death holds, Sen. Bennet will soon be relieved of duty.

    Colorado Comment …

    Bennett is a “richard”.

My best friend is a Constitutional attorney, former chief counsel for one of the Big Four oil companies, former Texas judge and currently head of his Department at a Colorado university … his run-in with Bennett goes like this (paraphrase) …

“Joe” wrote Bennett to object to a number of Democratic Party policies as soon as Bennett was appointed to replace Salazar.

Bennett’s email reply started out with “Please visit my website and familiarize yourself with my agenda. Once I arrive in Washington DC I intend to bla bla bla ..

    Joe blew a fuse.

His reply … “Your Agenda??? You moron, you represent ME. Not yourself. You’re being sent to Congress from Colorado to protect Colorado citizens from 49 Senators who will probably try to corrupt the Constitution and erode our native God-given Rights. Your responsibility is to protect the Constitution in my behalf. Not have an AGENDA!”

Bennett’s answer … ” … what are you? Some kind of armchair looney Constitutional expert or something?”

Predictably, Joe did not receive a reply to his next reply to Bennett.

Bennett is such a tool we don’t have a name for it, except maybe Reid-Light.

Sweet. Obama is misreading the electorate and the Dems are paying the price.

I saw a mention somewhere that Obama really blew it with his agenda this past year. He had a situation where he could have torn the Republican party apart with his Presidential win but he didn’t reconize it because he is so blinded by his idealogy. If he had tacked center left, they would have been able to pass some bills that would have shut out the Republican party for the forseeable future. But lucky for us, he lied during his campaign to get elected and had no intention of doing what he said. He was and is a hard leftist. That allowed the Republicans to organize in mass to resist his policies.

He has probably spent his political capital pushing his stupid progressive ideas instead of creating the conditions on the ground for liberal rule.

    Stupid is as stupid does.
