Lady Qaeda found guilty, blames Israel

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 3, 2010 07:12 PM

As I reported last week, al Qaeda fixer Aafia Siddiqui turned a federal courtroom in Manhattan into her own Cirque du Jihad.

Today, she was convicted of attempting to murder a U.S. serviceman in Pakistan. Proof that civilian trials for terrorists work? Hardly. Note that while KSM named her as a principal in U.S.-based plots to bomb gas stations and counterterrorism investigators traced her bank account to Saudi terror funders , she was not convicted of terrorism.

After the verdict was read, Siddiqui turned to the gallery, pointed her finger in the air and said, “This is a verdict coming from Israel, not America, and that is where the anger belongs. I can testify to this and I have proof.”

Siddiqui, 37, was convicted of two counts of attempted murder, though the crime was not found by the jury to be premeditated. She was also found guilty of armed assault, using and carrying a firearm, and assault of US officers.

Siddiqui faces life behind bars for her crimes.

The Pakistani neuroscientist, who the feds claimed was an al Qaeda associate, was arrested two years ago carrying handwritten plans for a radioactive “dirty bomb” along with a list of New York landmarks.

Federal prosecutors said that when FBI agents went to question her, she picked up an unattended rifle and shot at them. They claim Siddiqui was wounded by return fire.

It took a jury nearly three days to convict Siddiqui, who became famous for her loud outbursts that often got her kicked out of the courtroom.

Testifying in her own defense, Siddiqui claimed she had been tortured and held in a “secret prison” before her detention. Charges that she attacked US personnel who wanted to interrogate her were “crazy,” she said.

“It’s just ridiculous,” she said at her trial.

In court, Siddiqui veiled her face with a white scarf and often sat slumped in her chair. She openly sparred with the judge and her own lawyers, insisted she could bring peace to the Middle East.

“I was never planning a bombing! You’re lying!” she yelled while an Army captain testified on the first day of her two-week trial.

Despite claims that she was an al Qaeda sympathizer, Siddiqui was never charged with terrorism.

And despite her Crazy Card ploy, she was a cool as a cucumber when trying to save her hide on the stand.

This case shows how absurd Eric Holder’s imitation of Ed Harris in Apollo 13 was: “Failure is not an option”. Gosh, one must wonder how many hours Holder spent practicing that line. Holder should have been asked: “Will you concede that the failure to obtain a death penalty for KSM in the civilian trial will be a symbol of failure?”. Holder should have been told to answer the question yes or no. There is no way that a New York City jury will ever render the death penalty. In the Sidiqui case, despite all the evidence of her guilt, it took 3 days to get a conviction and the prosecution could not win a conviction on the “premeditation” counts. There was a jury compromise. This is sure to happen in the KSM trial. Given how liberal NYC is, there will surely be one juror who will never vote for a death penalty and under the rules if there is even one holdout juror, there can never be a death penalty. Holder should have been asked these questions but the senators were not smart enough to think of these obvious questions. They were too busy preening for the cameras.

It’s very, very simple–the administration isn’t threatened by terrorism. Terrorists aren’t going to touch Obama or anyone in his administration. They have all the security that they need from nasty jihadists. The only thing that this administration is threatened by are Americans, namely conservatives.

Obama and his goons are out in full force, demonizing US, leveling any accusation that they think will fly with their idiot pundits like Matthews and Olbermann, and they swallow it hook, line, and sinker. Homicidal fanatics are nothing to the leftist “mind.” The only enemies that they see are people who scrutinize THE ONE.

A catastrophe will result in this misguided idiocy, and I only hope that not only innocent people are taken in the conflagration.

Here folks you see the perils of civilian trials for terrorists. This woman seems to have gotten a pass. Probably because she’s a woman. Just wait until some juror looks at KSM and figures he’s some sort of religious leader. And as such, decides that maybe he’s guilty… but not THAT guilty. So he gets some form of a pass.

    Hold on, Horsey!

    Back up a bit.

Can someone PLEASE tell me how a small woman, about to be interrogated by the FBI, could find a gun anywhere, get to that gun, pick it up, and shoot at several professional soldiers and/or FBI law enforcement members and interrogators?

I am all for locking up al Qaeda folks, but I have a bad feeling about this thing.

Translated, I-do-not-trust-the-Government, nor do I trust the one sided claims by the soldiers, and/or FBI interrogators.

I can imagine someone abducting Michelle Malkin, taking her away in the middle of the night, shooting her, and then claiming that SHE shot THEM instead, even though she is too small to take on two trained military and law enforcement males, and that she most likely would NEVER get a shot off because they would kill her first.

Aside from that, can someone tell me HOW the heck a gun was “Lady al Qaeda’s” reach, and that this gun was actually loaded?

Forgive me, but in this case I have a bad feeling, I smell a stench that says “Something ain’t right.”

Are the claims of rape and torture in her case sound? Why is that not mentioned?

Are those who were in the prison she was allegedly held in over seas lying when they say they could hear her screams of agony as she was being tortured? Did they make the entire story up? Do they even exist?

Does Siddique have children? If so, where are they? Are they accounted for, or, as some defenders who claim that the government, and foreign governments, are hiding something and an innocent women, emaciated, weak, and whose children have been ripped from her arms, is a “fall guy” for government and overseas “helpers” abusing a woman, and possibly her children as well, breaking up a family, and doing this all under the guise of “fighting al Qaeda?”

I am speaking up and asking these questions because, whereas I normally tend to want to see al Qaeda suspects investigated, government sneakiness does bother me and should bother all of us.

Bottom line, I don’t trust this case 100%.

I am fearful of Government, government lies, government violation of all of our rights, and this case is just one of the stepping stones to that end.

Has anyone else considered those concerns?

Let’s fight the bad guys and gals for real!

Let’s also not grab scape goats and charge the victim with the crime and make them out to be the bad guys, especially when the alleged facts raise red flags and sound legitimately questionable.

With Obama at the helm, Pelosi et al in Congress, Hollywood celebrities, the left leaning media, etc., all in place, loose borders and idiotic immigration policies which allow porous borders, let illegals stay here and take jobs US citizens would do, put our economy in even deeper trouble, we are clearly not taking this “War on Terror” seriously enough.

When I see passengers on airlines being ignored when they observe suspicious behavior, and passengers and crew are targeted by those who act suspiciously, then I see things are not right.

When non Muslims are harassed by so-called security, but Muslims are treated with special respect and care, I see that things aren’t right.

Muslim militants are the bad guys regarding terrorist militant violence and murder. Illegal immigrants are the problem regarding their part in destroying the economy and making our nation less secure. In both areas not enough is being done.

I also see that the economy is in the tank and Obama and his ilk want to keep driving a spike into it, making is weaker, weakening our security, and our sovereignty, as well as making it difficult for parents to hold jobs and earn enough to raise their families, putting them in danger of being homeless and starving to death in the streets.

    We need a BIG change.

Throw Obama and his ilk out, including Pelosi, et al. Fix the media, who are claques for leftist, socialist, liberal thought, who distort, fabricate, and lie, and who tend to demonize conservatives.

Those are just a few ideas and concerns.
