Indoctrination Watch: Student contest for “best census cheer”

The Census educrats are urging your schools to turn your kids into government cheerleaders — literally.

Johnny may not be able to add, but he’ll be able to root loudly for his right to federal funding based on the most inflated head-count numbers possible. Yay!

off topic, I heard a new twist on those ‘racist’ Republicans last night on Matthews from Chuck Todd.

He said that Republicans really wanted Rubio to win because they wanted more diversity to the all white R representation.

Funny how I never thought Rubio wasn’t white, but it didn’t really occur to me or matter. Those guys see race in everything. . . that’s why they call so many people racist.

But why are they spending so much money on marketing? The easiest way to get the word to America is to have Sarah Palin put it on her facebook page or tweet it.

I’m not sure why people on this site view census lessons/discussions in conjunction with the schools as inherently evil. I don’t agree with either of the tactics mentioned in the census.gov lessons, but I think there’s plenty of educational relevance here.

I view a census lesson as a basic part of civics education. I teach an AP US History class, and my students will be discussing what the census is and how and why we use the information. I also plan to compare the Constitution with the form – what information requested on the form is relevant to the Constitutional purposes, and which information requested is not the government’s business.

I learned about the census every 10 years during my US History class too. And it was not during a census year. It is important to know we have a census and why. Heck, I’m surprised that some liberals aren’t opposed because a census is downright Biblical (Jesus was born in Bethlehem because they had to go there to be counted in the Roman census).

Censuses aren’t new. I just don’t understand the need for a ‘cheer’ or other over-the-top marketing of a mundane boring bland, predictable-as-a-clock issue.

To help inflate the voter rolls

To elect Dems without any souls.

To remake our country with some hope and change.

into a socialist utopia they hope to rearrange.

So when that knock on my door is heard.

The questions I will answer follow the Constitutional word.

To preserve our nation for which it stands

That was given to us by our founding fathers hands.

Speaking for myself, I do not trust the educational recommendations of the BHO administration. I admit I should have started distrusting the public ed. system long ago. I’ve seen political indoctrination in my school district.

I also plan to compare the Constitution with the form – what information requested on the form is relevant to the Constitutional purposes, and which information requested is not the government’s business.

That’s a great lesson plan. Remember, another teacher may have a different opinion of what is constitutional. Are you in a public school?

    “Don’t count illegals…

Unfortunately, the census takers just count every warm (and, to ensure the democrats win, cold) bodies. There’s no way to stop it.

This is why illegal immigration is a violation of State’s rights.

    Example:

There are 5 states: C, D, E, F, and G. State C has sanctuary cities and doesn’t assist the federal government with any enforcement of illegal immigration laws. They readily accept all illegal immigrants and give them state support and voting rights. States D-G do the opposite and do their best to keep illegal immigrants out.

State C allows 2 million illegal immigrants in between two census periods. However, in that time, 1 million citizens leave the state due to the rampant socialism that is killing them. They migrate, evenly, to States D-G.

So, the net increase for the States is: C – 1 million; D-G: 250,000 each. When the representatives are apportioned, States D-G will have to give up 1 rep each to State C. Even though D-G increased the number of citizens and C increased only in the number of illegal immigrants.

This is why illegal immigration violates State’s rights. Each state is entitled to its proper representation in the House. Allowing illegal immigrants takes away that representation from citizens and transfers it to the illegal immigrants.

It would be nice to bring this to SCOTUS.

I’ve heard this argument as well. My response is to ask why send a boy to do a man’s job. How would a child be prepared for such a mission field if his very education and worldview came from that field? One hour a week in Sunday school? Right.

Thanks for the link. Many people want to argue that those are the extreme cases and that my child goes to a “safe school.” Hate to burst their bubble, but I was privy stomach turning vial situtations 15 years ago. It’s only gotten worse since I left.

Your point about sending a boy to do a man’s job is EXCELLENT! Our children are SO impressionable. Even the strongest can’t endure professional indoctrination.

My liberal uncle(a life-long public school teacher) tried and failed to get me to join the NEA. His main argument was that they’d “protect me from getting fired.” I was always curious about “who” they’d protect!
