Indoctrination Watch: Student contest for “best census cheer”

Photoshop: Leo Alberti
The Census educrats are urging your schools to turn your kids into government cheerleaders — literally.
Johnny may not be able to add, but he’ll be able to root loudly for his right to federal funding based on the most inflated head-count numbers possible. Yay!

Time to break out the pom poms Michelle.
I’ve told my kids not to answer the door or any questions from a census taker unless I’m there. I will answer for the household and only those questions I deem Constitutionally appropriate!
I don’t remember ever in my half-century on this planet seeing such a thought out, well financed campaign…for a head count.
Coincidence? I think not.
Excellent advice for everyone!
My son will not be attending any school assembly regarding the Census, if I can help it. A pox on their house!
Have these children been issued their “Red Berets” yet?
As soon as the left can reconcile gun control along with issuing AK47′s to the chill’un!
Rah, rah, rah!
Sis, boom, bah!
I can’t add,
And neither can you!
Go, Socialism!
And get your parents to fill out the census form!
off topic, I heard a new twist on those ‘racist’ Republicans last night on Matthews from Chuck Todd.
He said that Republicans really wanted Rubio to win because they wanted more diversity to the all white R representation.
Funny how I never thought Rubio wasn’t white, but it didn’t really occur to me or matter. Those guys see race in everything. . . that’s why they call so many people racist.
and I concur that MM needs to get out the pom poms and do a little skit again. The defeatocrat cheer will be a classic forever.
But why are they spending so much money on marketing? The easiest way to get the word to America is to have Sarah Palin put it on her facebook page or tweet it.
I’m sure she’ll either volunteer to do it or give whatever she makes to a local charity.
Give me an O

some may find this equally disturbing …

Two bits, four bits, six bits, a dollar;
Aliens hide from the Census Caller!
Yay!
Tricks are up some sleeves for sure.
I hope we will be prepared to handle the census results. It worries me to think how ‘we the people’ will be represented.
2 – 4 – 6 – 8 !
Who’s gonna fail in Census-Gate?
YaaaaaaaaaaY O-Blama!
Maybe this will work.
Two! Four! Six! Eight!
Illegals enumerate!
Two! Four! Six! Eight!
Democrat One-Party State!
Baaaaah Census!”
I’m not sure why people on this site view census lessons/discussions in conjunction with the schools as inherently evil. I don’t agree with either of the tactics mentioned in the census.gov lessons, but I think there’s plenty of educational relevance here.
I view a census lesson as a basic part of civics education. I teach an AP US History class, and my students will be discussing what the census is and how and why we use the information. I also plan to compare the Constitution with the form – what information requested on the form is relevant to the Constitutional purposes, and which information requested is not the government’s business.
Good grief! Shows how important this is to the Marxist agenda. Helps to divvy up the Great Pumpkin Pie – the lynch pin of the “zero sum game” that is the American economy.
I learned about the census every 10 years during my US History class too. And it was not during a census year. It is important to know we have a census and why. Heck, I’m surprised that some liberals aren’t opposed because a census is downright Biblical (Jesus was born in Bethlehem because they had to go there to be counted in the Roman census).
Censuses aren’t new. I just don’t understand the need for a ‘cheer’ or other over-the-top marketing of a mundane boring bland, predictable-as-a-clock issue.
Stop the presses! Must add census-instruction pages to the Little Red Books!
Speaking for myself, I do not trust the educational recommendations of the BHO administration. I admit I should have started distrusting the public ed. system long ago. I’ve seen political indoctrination in my school district.
That’s a great lesson plan. Remember, another teacher may have a different opinion of what is constitutional. Are you in a public school?
Census workers can’t get to my door. Between the gate, the spiked wrought iron fence, the security system and the two mean looking 90 lb German Shepards, most people decide its better to not drop in.
Of course if they are ACORN like workers that wont stop them….they will just go to their local library and fill out the census form for you.
Unfortunately, the census takers just count every warm (and, to ensure the democrats win, cold) bodies. There’s no way to stop it.
This is why illegal immigration is a violation of State’s rights.
Example:
There are 5 states: C, D, E, F, and G. State C has sanctuary cities and doesn’t assist the federal government with any enforcement of illegal immigration laws. They readily accept all illegal immigrants and give them state support and voting rights. States D-G do the opposite and do their best to keep illegal immigrants out.
State C allows 2 million illegal immigrants in between two census periods. However, in that time, 1 million citizens leave the state due to the rampant socialism that is killing them. They migrate, evenly, to States D-G.
So, the net increase for the States is: C – 1 million; D-G: 250,000 each. When the representatives are apportioned, States D-G will have to give up 1 rep each to State C. Even though D-G increased the number of citizens and C increased only in the number of illegal immigrants.
This is why illegal immigration violates State’s rights. Each state is entitled to its proper representation in the House. Allowing illegal immigrants takes away that representation from citizens and transfers it to the illegal immigrants.
It would be nice to bring this to SCOTUS.
Why do “conservatives” and Christians continue to send their children to these illiteracy cartels, as György Lukács called them?
Send_Me #35
I ask the same question of my conservative Christian friends. Some feel it’s a “mission field.”
I taught public jr. high for 7 years. Saw the indoctrination and “social” passing of illiterate students first hand.
I’m homeschooling both my sons!
Butts in seats = $$$$
(It doesn’t matter if the butt is here legally or not.)
Public schools will do ANYTHING to keep their federal and state money!
I’ve heard this argument as well. My response is to ask why send a boy to do a man’s job. How would a child be prepared for such a mission field if his very education and worldview came from that field? One hour a week in Sunday school? Right.

Thanks for the link. Many people want to argue that those are the extreme cases and that my child goes to a “safe school.” Hate to burst their bubble, but I was privy stomach turning vial situtations 15 years ago. It’s only gotten worse since I left.
Your point about sending a boy to do a man’s job is EXCELLENT! Our children are SO impressionable. Even the strongest can’t endure professional indoctrination.
My liberal uncle(a life-long public school teacher) tried and failed to get me to join the NEA. His main argument was that they’d “protect me from getting fired.” I was always curious about “who” they’d protect!

I keep asking myself that same question of the 2008 election.
bingo…you win…spot on…
I mean I get the point in the need of a census, I really do, but why are they counting on the youth so much? Never mind the fact liberal progressive movements have turned the bulk of them into Communist pretty much.
I mean isn’t a census ment to count total population? Not fire arm ownership or skin color? Ah well..
