Roland, I’m sorry that jsmiddleton4 and others haven’t presented you with a framing of reality that you consider rationally consistent. You might just have to accept that you might not receive such a presentation here.

I thought it was clear I didn’t actually expect to get a rational framing from them.

However, rational discussion can only begin when you hold out the possibility the other party(ies) are engaging in rational dialogue of some sort. Then you seek to understand how they frame a rationally consistent view, even if it involves different assumptions than you have.

I was doing that with them. They were not doing that with me. Nor did you.

It gives the perspective of someone that chose to be such a slave to Occum’s Razor that he decided he had insufficient motivation to believe in God.

I assume this guy knows that Occum’s Razor often leads to incorrect explanations – sometimes the correct explanation is more complicated than an incorrect explanation.

Only inner strength and wisdom.

Primitive religion is all about whose ‘volcano’ God has the biggest whang, so that apparent lack of earthly power cannot be admitted.

Saying your God can’t smite your enemies, but He will win in the end anyway just doesn’t hack it with primitive types.
