A better “Miss Me Yet?” billboard

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 9, 2010 10:06 PM

I’m not the only one with misgivings about the Bush “Miss Me Yet?” billboard.

Reader W.E. Messamore came up with some new and improved “Miss Me Yet?” billboard photoshops, including my favorite:

Bull’s-eye. Definitely want to see someone put this one up for real!

    There are times when I wished that the crazed idiot Al Gore had managed to win HIS OWN STATE during 2000 election, so we wouldn’t have had to put up with listening to the media and pundits whine and moan about every little thing that happened during Bush’s presidency. The only problem with THAT scenario is that McCain might have been the GOP candidate in 2004, and he’s infinitely worse than Bush.

    GWBs “problem” is that he had a great, great honor for the office of the President; after WJC soiled it with his “affairs”. GWB had nothing but complete respect for his office in such a way that he refused to use it as a political tool. In the long run, this hurt him as he never responded to the wrong left wing kooks that would admonish him daily.
    He never waivered trying to appease the wrong left, thinking they would like him some day. Had he fought the dems with the same tenacity he fought the terrorists (for the first couple of years, at least), the GOP may not have suffered so many losses on 2006.

While the staff respectfully stood around the Resolute desk, Duh One had his feet propped up on the desk with his seat in full recline mode. That shows ZERO respect for the office and in many cultures around the world it is also a sign of great disrespect to point the bottom of your shoe at someone.

    I’m not totally convinced that a conservative is responsible for the Bush board. The current “movement” isn’t mostly Bush lovers. We may have voted for him, but he and his family run counter to the limited government message. If the left can convince the Independents that the Tea Party is about more of the same (Bush), it will fall apart.

    W and his Dad are a large reason the communists have gotten the White House in the first place. The RNC then continued their slide to the left, trodding out McCain. He’s not what we wanted either, after holding our nose to vote for Bush (twice), the RNC lost the nation’s support.

    I hope we can get out the message that, no, we don’t want Bush back or anymore like him. He only backed tax breaks to get enough support for his massive increase in government spending.

    There is no way I want to be included in the mindset of this ad. I love the one with the Constitution and think that is perfect.

    In today’s society, the POTUS is generally given too much credit or assigned too much blame, in my opinion. It took more than one person to get this country into the mess that it’s in at the moment, and even though Bush had to deal with a Democrat controlled Congress after the 2006 elections, it seems that too many people still want to put all of the blame on Bush. When the financial crisis occurred in late 2008, I felt that this was going to put a serious cramp into the economy, and I felt that whoever was elected President would not be able to turn it around and would end up being a one term President. Given the standing of the Republicans during the 2008 elections, I believe that a President McCain, had it come about, would have decimated the Republican party. Although McCain would have treated the office with far more dignity than Obama has, I’m really not convinced that McCain would have been any better with promoting policies towards economic growth. I agree with the poster in that he likely would have accelerated the move towards a more socialistic government.

    The thing that is missing is the Constitution, but it only appears to be missing but was actually replaced some time ago. Recently, things were done regarding the Constitution, not in the past as earlier suspected.

    Comparing the two sign concepts is to compare apples and oranges.

    My first question about the Constitutional reference would be, “What’s missing?” The Constitution is still there, although it’s under assault it hasn’t been taken away.

    In fact, the biggest problem we’ve had with the Constitution hasn’t been its curtailment, but rather that there are a lot of people who are convinced that it contains more than meets the eye:

    - The “right” to abortions;

    - The “right” not to be offended;

    - The “right” to have government-provided health care;

    - The “right” of illegal foreign combatants to Miranda warnings and access to the civil judicial system.

    I swear, I can’t find those written anywhere in the document. But then again, I don’t have a pair of those funky invisible-ink reading glasses like the ones in National Treasure.

    Now, if you put the 10th Amendment on the sign instead of the preamble, then I’d definitely agree. That’s one part of the Constitution that has definitely been “interpreted” out of existence.
