Wouldn’t that be the same stage where that other great pioneer in human rights Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gave such a moving and eloquent oration? – Not to mention the alma mater of the Socialist in Chief.

If you visit a sewer, you may expect to see lots of turds and experience a rather fowl smell. Just saying.

I confess, I just cannot see workers on rooftops or in a field happily whistling while they work installing Solar Panels and Wind Turbines. Maybe I have not been looking close enough. Green Collar Economy? What the hell does that mean? After all the installation is complete, the Green Collar workers go home without a job and happily eat shoe leather all the while knowing what power they could have had, but can no longer pay for, is pollution free or some such rot.

WHAT GREEN JOBS? If anyone out there can tell me one green industry which produces a product that competes without subsidy, please inform me. Solar, good for heating your swimming pool, but a joke for heating your house. Wind, the perfect power source for deaf blowhards. Ocean or water currents, you can’t put a dam on a river it might hurt the fisheees, and hell no you aren’t putting any power plant on my ocean front lots. So let’s all caulk our houses!

The Green job industry gave us traffic lights which don’t melt the snow and wind turbines which won’t work in cold climates. Do they have any more bright ideas? Green jobs are all about spending something that is “green” rather than saving the environment.

I’m afraid you have me there, I’ve heard his name but I don’t recall reading anything by him. Although The Planet Buyer sounds familiar to me. I’ve forgotten a lot. My tastes besides H.P. Lovecraft, was along the lines of Arthur Conan Doyle, Kipling, Frank Herbert, Ray Bradbury and a lot of Sci-Fi shorts that escape me at the moment.
I hardly ever read for pleasure anymore, but did recently pick up the complete Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy and a massive Arthur C. Clarkes book for $3. I will endeavor to read them even if it kills me.

No, you’re not looking close enough. They’re turning. Even on completely windless days they turn. The power company just uses power from the grid to turn the turbines so everyone thinks that wind power is so fabulous!

And everyone wonders why their energy bills go up.

There are some power plants around here where the water from the lake flows down hill during the daytime to run the generators. At night, the water is pumped up hill to reload the source.

Because it is not wind or solar would they qualify as “non-renewable”?

Or it could be they are just clogged up with all the dead birds that were trying to fly south in October. Those turbines are lethal. And ineffective. And stupid. Keep trying, folks. You might get something that doesn’t kill birds or fill our landfills with mercury, or use up all our corn for fuel, or stop working if the sun doesn’t shine for a few days. Geez!
