The abortion lobby’s ghoulish Valentine’s Day cards

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 11, 2010 12:56 PM

Via Steven Ertelt at LifeNews, nothing says romance like a Planned Parenthood/abortion lobby Valentine’s Day card for your favorite abortionist:

New Valentine’s Day cards from Planned Parenthood and a national organization for “pro-choice” doctors don’t have the typical phrases like “Be Mine” or “I Love You.” Instead, the promotional cards promote abortion, condoms and promiscuity.

Jodi Magee, the head of Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health, emailed supporters of abortion practitioners and pro-abortion doctors letting them know of their special Valentine’s Day cards.

“Let pro-choice physicians know that you appreciate them. With the stigma and harassment our doctors face, they deserve to know that they make us proud,” she says.

The cards feature a large heart on a white background with the message, “I love pro-choice doctors” and a link to the pro-abortion group’s web site.

Blogger Valerie of 2 Seconds Faster blog noticed the cards and responded, “I can’t imagine sending ANY physician a valentine, but the thought of sending one to an abortionist makes my skin crawl to say the least. But that is exactly what ‘Jodi’ is urging members of PRCH to do.”

Ghouls.

I looked at the site and sampled some of the cards. Actually, I confess I thought they were kind of cute. The tradition of funny/silly Valentines is an old one and I see now reason to take offense. As long as the “cards” aren’t cruel or repulsive, we should be willing to go with it. Given the state of the country (and GOP), we need all the laughs we can get.

They claim abstinence only is un-obtainable by our teens. That’s like saying dieting is a waste of time since many people can’t stay on a diet for very long.

Like Eve Ensler and her acolytes’ crusade to turn Valentine’s Day into “V-Day”. (I know what you’re thinking if you know what female body part Ms. Ensler is obsessed with, but “v” is for “violence”, as in violence against women.) Some Womyn think the holiday for love and romance should be a day to remind us all of how horrible most men are.

Also, pretty sure St. Valentine himself, a Roman Catholic bishop, would not have sent out these particular cards.

The cards that read, “I love pro-choice doctors” were misprinted.

They forgot to complete the sentence.

It should we “I love pro-abortion” doctors.

It could also read “I love pro-antilife choice doctors,” or even “I love pro-slaughter of new human beings doctors.”

Those are actually more accurate and honest than “I love pro-choice doctors.”

Every doctor, including life choice doctors, are “pro-choice.” Most lay persons are “pro-choice” in the sense we all want to have the freedom to choose who to vote for, who to marry, what we wish for dinner, which flavor ice cream we desire, and so forth. All of us make choices throughout the day and we all appreciate the freedom to choose.

Induced abortion is a violation of the “Freedom of Choice” because the people butchered during abortion are not being respected for their “Freedom of Choice.” Their choice is being stripped from them along with their lives.

Induced abortion advocates are saying “Freedom to choose to have an innocent baby slaughtered,” not “freedom of choice in all things.”

Even when a woman who chose to preserve the life of her baby, Mrs. Tebow, chose life, her choice was demonized by “Pro-choice” or “Freedom of Choice” advocates, which clearly shows that they don’t want choice, they want abortion as the only choice, and if you choose life and celebrate it, then you are a Fascist forcing your evil, malevolent agenda on them, and forcing women to become pregnant and give birth against their will.

In other words, induced abortion advocates deal in pure, unadulterated nonsense.

Show your mother you appreciate that she did not abort you or have you aborted.

These cards seem like something a younger, single couple (who is already sexually active) would give to each other as a cute, playful and seductive joke. I’d expect to see them in a novelty/prank/fun store in the mall.

The idea of giving these to abortionists is a little creepy….the cards are obviously intended for people to give to someone they are intimate with – not to a doctor – regardless of what their “specialty” is. Then, I realized these are not the cards for the doctors – Nice ‘bait-&-switch’, Mr. Ertelt!!

Honestly, I think the thing that I’m most critical about is what an idiot the author of the linked atricle, Steven Ertelt, is.

The tic-tac-toe card where he claims there is a “3 in a row” of condoms that beats the X’s?? I don’t see a “3 in a row” – at least they way I was taught to play. He’s implying that the card says that sex beats kissing.

Then the “boy condom – girl condom” thing. The “boy condom” is not a condom, you dolt. Don’t you know what your junk looks like?!?

Mr. Ertelt does the anti-abortion a dis-service by appearing to be an ignorant hack that will bend the facts (if not spread outright lies) to make the other side look bad.

Clearly the article is not a bait and switch. As stated in the article, Planned Parenthood has one set of “Valentine” cards, while the “pro-choice physicians” have a set, as the spokesperson said, to let your abortionist know that you appreciate him or her.

Regarding your statement: “The tic-tac-toe card where he claims there is a “3 in a row” of condoms that beats the X’s?? I don’t see a “3 in a row” – at least they way I was taught to play. He’s implying that the card says that sex beats kissing.”

    1) Please look at the tic-tac-toe card omage again. You appear to have missed something ………
    ….
    ….

    Did you see it?

The condoms DO line up in a row. In tic-tac-toe as I have played it throughout my entire life, and as others I have observed, including total strangers, have played it, without exception, the winner aligns either all “O”s or all “X”s either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

In the tic-tac-toe card image the condoms are aligned diagonally, from upper left, to lower right. The “O”s, or condoms, beat the “X”x.

Where is Steven Ertelt saying that, quoting you, ” … He’s implying that the card says that sex beats kissing?”

The game is usually played with X and O. In this card the condom is the O, and the X is an actual X.

Nothing wrong there. Steven Ertelt is still accurate and there is still no evidence of any deception, wrong doing, or error in his article’s depiction of the Tic-Tac-Toe card.

You then went on to state, “Then the “boy condom – girl condom” thing. The “boy condom” is not a condom, you dolt. Don’t you know what your junk looks like?!?”

Yes. You appear to be partially correct in that statement.

When I first saw the image I thought that both looked like condoms, and made the same mistake as Ertelt. I thought they were two different color condoms, one drawn as a boy condom, one drawn as a girl condom.

After reviewing the image I see that the “boy” appears in the shape of an erect penis, whereas the “girl,” painted pink, appears in the form of a condom. The card’s quote states, “lookin’ good, sexy thing!” and inside the card states “We were made for each other.” So they fit together, the condom over the erect penis.

If you wish to celebrate that Steven Ertelt made a mistake regarding one of the images including the condom and the erect penis, go right on ahead. Whatever floats your boat. I would think that is an insignificant mistake that amounts to nothing but sour grapes on your part.

The second part of that fact regarding the condom card, however, is a true. The card does depict a girl condom, and a boy, who, in this case, is the actual penis. So Steven Ertelt got part of that correct – one was a girl, one was a boy, while he also got part of what they were painted as – one a girl condom.

I still see no attempt by Ertelt to deceive, no justification for calling him a liar, or claiming he is employing a bait and switch tactic.

So far you have failed to make your case that Steven Ertelt is an idiot.

Clearly he is capable of operating an advocacy information outlet, and clearly he is excellent at writing articles and keeping the public aprised of pro-life news.

He is clearl not an idiot.

So far you have been wrong about the Tic-Tac-Toe game showing condoms in a row, you said you don’t see it, yet the image clearly does show them in a row, as I’ve clearly demonstrated to you, and Ertelt mentions in the article that a pro-choice physician’s group put out one set of cards so that you can thank your abortionist, while Planned Parenthood put out another set of cards.

Steven Ertelt has come out looking even better after your mean spirited, error filled comment than before.

    IndyRich,

Now, after reviewing Steven Ertelt’s actual article and the facts which support that article’s statements, you can see that Steven Ertelt was honest, and accurate, and there is no justification for calling him an ” … an ignorant hack that will bend the facts (if not spread outright lies) to make the other side look bad.”

Abortion advocates and abortionists have engaged in numerous acts of violence, corruption, deception, lies, coercion, murder, assault, and so on, yet they are protected by a bias media and a culture of death in regard to abortion. Hence they are still, errantly, believed to be caring, loving, salt-of-the-earth champions of freedom and justice, while life choicers are painted as violent thugs who go around blowing up buildings, shooting and assassinating people all day, every day, and foaming at the mouth like rabid dogs, screaming and shouting like possessed characters in a version of “The Exorcist.” They are given so much cover that their disgusting deeds are seen as compassionate, supportive, caring, when all along they just kill innocent people, the new human being who is aborted, and they injure and kill the women who are often coerced into the abortuary.

When the truth is told the others side looks bad because the other side IS bad! They put millions of dollars into promoting and executing the butchering of new human beings. They advocate it, and they use such dishonest terms as “Reproductive Choice” and “Reproductive Freedom” and “Reproductive Health” when abortion is the slaughtering of a new human being who exists because she her parents reproduced, resulting in her existence as a living human being.

The more accurate term would be “Abortion choice,” or “Slaughter of Baby via Induced Abortion Choice,” or “Anti-Life Choice,” while the “Pro-life” side is “Life Choice,” or “Protect Human Beings from Abortion Choice,” or “Freedom from Aggression against Innocent New Human Beings” choice.

That is why LifeNews, Steven Ertelt, and others who reveal the facts and keep people informed are so important today, to keep people apprised of the facts, for clearly the main stream media doesn’t care, and only editorializes the news when it comes to abortion and life choice.
