Not again: Another Mohammed Cartoon conflagration
This crude drawing of Mohammed as a pig, published on Facebook and in a Norwegian newspaper, drew a protest of some 2,000 Muslims in Oslo today. The usual fatwas and threats of violence have followed.
Rusty at The Jawa Report has been tracking the bubbling Religion of Perpetual Outrage outrage and sums it up:
“They had to ask Muslims not to be violent ….. over a cartoon …. on Facebook!”

The best way to stop these endless threats of violence is to flood all channels with these cartoons. Let’s have an all out orgy of contempt directed at these low-lifes. They can’t kill us all.

If you can’t handle the cultural norms, and what is acceptable in the ‘west’, then stay away.

A sane country, with non PC citizens, would have encircled the crowd and arrested every one of them. Then immediately deport them AND their family. They are not of Norwegian heritage and are guests. Very bad guests but guests nonetheless. Europe needs to get rid of every troublemaking muslim they encounter. Post haste.

I’m not saying that I’d act on a fatwa, but I’d be pretty outraged if someone drew a picture of Jesus as a pig. Just sayin’.
And we would be judgmental, anti-intellectual and trying to censure true art.
But the Church has been under such attack from the very beginning. Despite their denials islam does mock Christ.
At one time the Muslim world had Scientists and Mathematicians and were a very advanced civilization. Now the Muslim world is no longer advanced. Some Muslims only live and breathe to murder Christians and Jews. Why does the Muslim world put up with this STUPID NONSENSE? Can I trust Muslims in general? Well, can I? When will I be turned upon for not being a Muslim? When?

Most of the time, when they riot, they only succeed in killing a bunch of their own. Remember those headlines? “Muslim cartoon protests kill….” however many?
Perhaps if, like you said, we flood their airwaves with these cartoons, they will eventually kill each other off with their backlashing. Then, all we have to do is kill the last guy standing.

I’m going to dissent on this one and say the cartoon is not helpful. Christians rightly are incensed when their symbols are maligned, this cartoon, really, serves no purpose other than to incite an already crazed population. Far better would be a sophisticated, intellectual and ideological front against islam based on the best western civilization can offer. Unfortunately, the multiculturists and other apologists are impeding this vital part of the war against radical islam.
Just where is this magical “sane country” you speak of? I wanna know cause I wanna move there.

I have to side with Tre on the issue of insults of Jesus – I think it is somewhat blasphemous to even think that the God I worship and/or his son need me to protect them or their honor. I would not feel insulted, just sorry for the person who feels the need to insult people (insulting someone’s religious symbols is more an insult to the person than the deity).
Agreed. The purpose is clearly not to entertain, enlighten or comment but to enrage and hopefully provoke a impassioned or violent response, giving some notariety to the so called “artist”.
Remember “Piss Christ” in the ’80s? Some slimeball photographed a crucifix in a jar of his own urine. It won an “Awards in the Visual Arts” competition, sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. The guy received $15K – partly tax funded. Obviously Christians were outraged. This guy’s intent was clearly to get national attention by deeply offending Christians – and by extention to prove how angry and vitriolic Christians were. Didn’t work. Other than agressively protesting the NEA for funding obvious non-art, most Christians expressed their disgust, then largely ignored the guy – and his 15 minutes of fame lasted about 5.
That’s the difference. Rational people can discern when someone is trying to provoke them, and just tell them to take a hike. A religion that demands righteous indignation in the form of “holy war” is constantly looking for something to get offended about and will perceive persecution in just about anything. Intentionally provoking them is just stupid.

Seems to me the only ones who got attention were the protesters. I personally couldn’t care less if they are offended. I’m offended with their antics too but I’m not out in the streets burning stuff down!

Just a quick note for those who are interested. I have a friend out in Norway who responded to my rant on the matter. Seems that the protesters are actually behaving themselves and keeping things peaceful. None of the usual calls for infidel deaths.
I posted this with Netscape 7.1 on Win 98 so I have nothing to complain about.
Making death threats and killing the innocent is how these nuts atone for their sins.
Rather than Mohammad, I would think the cartoon would win over more people had the ‘artist’ pigged kill crazy/ face covered jihadis. They need to be mocked off the face of the earth.

Simply put PC Must Die. Daily in this country we are attacked by manufactured outrage, then we cave in order to appease that which will never be appeased. Do we outlaw the use of crayons to keep children from being offended by the name on the crayola?
I think everyone here agrees with the sanity of, if you don’t like it get out. Why should they though? Our justice system, politicians, media do everything possible to make it comfortable for them. When you yield great power just through crying discrimination, that power becomes addicting.
When the Iranian revolution was over the ayotollahs said openly that they planned to destroy the west through immigration. We just need to figure out why our governments want to help them do it.

Europe somehow thinks that they can accommodate Islam and survive. If the crusades and the invasions of Islam taught the Europeans anything, it is that Islam is a danger to Western civilization. You just wonder when there will be a violent rather than legalistic push back when the French, Germans, and British people have had enough. A lot of people think the next world war will be in the mideast. I am not so sure of that is it could well be in Europe once again.
