House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Friday that she is leading a 12-member “bipartisan” congressional delegation to Haiti. The group includes one Republican — outmatched by 11 Democrats.
Though Pelosi’s press release used the word “bipartisan” five times, Florida Sen. George LeMieux is the sole GOP lawmaker in Congress visiting the devastated island nation for what would presumably be a bipartisan cause — assessing ways to help the country recover from its earthquake.

This way she can claim the $500,00.00 cost for drinks and snacks during the trip as “bipartisan” expenses.
“Bipartisanship” coming out of a politician’s mouth has to be processed through the baloney machine for us to understand. It’s like in 2008 when Giuliani explained to detractors that freedom of speech often means to obey the instructions of your leaders.
It’s that kind of bafflegab that generates the plummeting level of confidence in government that our polls are reporting.

Speaker Pelosi never suggessted the trip was bipartisan. From the article -

Should she and a bunch of other politicians take a trip to Haiti for what will amount to a photo op? I don’t expect many of them to get in there and dig, feed, build, wash, etc anything.
They may stand next to some Haitian elected officials and reassure them of our continued support of their country. OK, that is a good thing.
But, to advance the notion of bipartisanship based on a headline that does not reflect what was actually said, is not even intellectually dishonest, it is just plain dishonest.
Am I the only one who is sick of these pols and their ENDLESS shenanigans? Not one word of this trip was mentioned in the lame stream media. We conservatives need to change the vocabulary–bipartisanship is a nothing, liberal, meaningless word.

The taxpayers should not be footing the bill for this trip unless those congresscritters, all of them, pick up shovels and start digging. Or travel over impassible roads to bring badly needed supplies to outer villages. Or something, anything useful. Bringing their hot air over there, like Biden did is unconscionable and a slap in the fact to every hard working volunteer there.
What conservative in their right mind would go with that crew anywhere? Sheila Jackson Lee? John Conyers? I would rather be horse whipped than to have to listen to those race hustlers for days.

Never having heard of this George LeMieux I decided to Bing him. It seems that he was Crist’s chief of staff, a big company Lawyer, and a criticizer of senator Wilson who called Obama a Liar during a joint session address. He was appointed by Crist to fill Martinez’s seat. He is for amnesty, obama health care, against off shore drilling, etc. I don’t know how he can call himself a Republican. I have not heard af any RINO in the senate who is more liberal than this guy. He is certainly sucking at Pelosi’s T–t. No wonder she wants him along. That is not a bipartisan flight, even figuratively. Some commenters refer to him with a picture of a skunk.

Florida has significant ties to Haiti because so many Haitians come here when they leave that beyond-troubled nation.

Read an interesting article this a.m. but now can’t find it. It used to be polls consistantly showed the majority disapproved of congress, but the same margin approved of their own congresscritter. A poll released yesterday said only 8% approve of their own reps. HOPE. AND. CHANGE.
In this anti-Democrat political climate, LeMieux is stupid to allow himself to be used in this fashion. Is he a frosh?
