NYT: Brooklyn accent = RAAAAACIST!
Longtime readers know that fearless young conservative firebrand Jason Mattera has been a great friend of mine and of Hot Air’s for years. You also know from his countless videos that he’s got a Brooklyn accent thickah than an old-growth redwood tree. Yesterday, he gave a rousing, raucous speech at CPAC in Washington, D.C.
To the apparently untrained ears of a New York Times reporter, Jason’s Brooklyn accent = RAAAACIST!

Racial tones do not equal racist.
Mattera’s material was sprinkled with humor. So what? Political speech often is. Like it or not, satire and ridicule are political tools.
But, to suggest racism, is wrong.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sulzberger scratches his head wondering why no one wants to buy his “Gray Lady”. Remember when they tried charging for online content? Nobody would pay.
If a lady is gray, she is probably dead. RIP NYT.

He’s a die-hard Yankee fan, lover of all things NY, and a true African-American whose family migrated from Africa (Ghana, if I remember corectly) before he was born.

Between the tea party bashers and the cries of racism over everything we do, we need to learn to just ignore these creeps. They don’t have an ounce of honesty or integrity in them, so we can expect more of the same. Let them do their worst…they are losing and everyone knows it (except the POTUS, apparently).

There IS a sort of delicious irony in the fact that a writer for the NEW YORK Times didn’t recognize a Brooklyn accent. Talk about isolating yourself from the rest of the population…
Academia supports communist ideology 12 to 1. Time for a real change. To balance our budget, cut grants 50% per year for 4 years, and weed out these freeloading communists living off our taxes. Diversity within academia is defined as communists, socialists, and liberals of any color and either sex.

Good idea in theory, but this isn’t simcity. I don’t think another Reagan can do the air-traffic controller thing and just “Fire all the Professors” and the rogues gallery of other Reds in our midst. Too many of them, for one thing. How many Universities are there in the United States? And that’s just the profs and junk scientists…and that’s just the Universities. Then you have the state-assistance tangled-web network with all it’s associated social service boondoggles. Then there is the federal bureaucracy in all its hideous, immense anti-glory, and all the useless, pointless (except for their usefulness as Democrat and union tools) jobs that exist therein. I haven’t even touched on the communists in Entertainment.
We don’t do purges well, on our side of the aisle. Bush was excoriated for firing 6 appointed judges that he had every right to fire, while Progressive Clinton fired (like) 97, all at friggin once, and nary a peep from the media.
Whenever the Republicans come back to town, it’s not the same. They don’t just summarily clean house and fire everyone that ever got hired in DC during the previous Democrat Partytime administrtation. It never happens. Sad to say, many, MANY people that have gotten into the game this year will be there now for years to come, near-permanent installations.
Let Dems and Stalinist-wannabes do purges. People who love Mao, “power comes from the barrel of a gun” people can have that evil.

Absolutely right, Taqiyyotomist! Having grown up in southern New Jersey, I have some difficulty in discerning Jason’s accent, at least in this particular speech. But Hillarity Clinton’s affected black accent was totally ridiculous and, yes, RACIST.

The NY Times reporter didn’t bother to write about the outright antiSemitism from Roger Cohen in his recent NYU performance. Cohen and his ideological partner, radical antiIsrael professor Rashid Khalidi, made a joint performance at NYU. Cohen said in his speech that “I have heard” that “Jewish Congressmen from Florida” blackmailed Obama and that the Jews from Florida told Obama that unless Obama cleaved to a proIsrael foreign policy, then they (The Florida Jews) would vote against the Dems health care bill. Cohen refused to say who told him about the blackmailing Jewish congressmen. Cohen refused to name names. He would not say which “Florida Jewish congressmen” attempted to blackmail Obama. Cohen knew if gave out names, his lie could be unmasked easily. So he just hurled out an antiSemtic remark about devious and amoral Jewish congressmen. Nor would Cohen say when Obama received the threat. Cohen went on to allege that the US politicians only support Israel because Florida Jews control many electoral votes. Cohen can not explain how GWB was the best friend Israel ever had yet lost the vote among Florida Jews in 2000 and 2004.
Where was the Times’ reporter when Roger Cohen made his excursion into Reverend Wright/David Duke territory? Part of the Cohen transcript is in Newsweek. The video of Cohen at NYU is on the web (but not in the NY Times.

That’s OK. Fewer and fewer people are reading The NYT and, personally, I couldn’t care less what the NYT ever says. This is to be celebrated. It is good for our cause. I’m glad they want to alienate what was at one time the second largest city in the country before being swallowed up by NYC; Brooklyn. I bet Schumer was on the phone to them first thing this morning asking what the Hell they were thinking. Keep it up Pinch and Keller. The Times is just the memo that goes out in the morning to the Lib community. No one else is reading it except the editors of other papers and T.V. and radio news orginizations. I would never know what is in it weren’t for sites like this and Rush and Levin. And, as a professional waiter working in Manhattan, I wait on the editors and Pinch. They laugh with me thinking they are amonst friends (although Krugman almost got out of his chair to get in my face one night a few years ago simply because I mentioned that I was a Republican…seriously). I smile and take their money to donate to conservative causes. Ain’t life just.

I had a buddy that grew up in Brooklyn off “turdy- turd ‘n turd” street.
The NY Times has yet another plaigirism scandal on its hands. Another reporter was just allowed to resign after being caught ripping off the WSJ. This year we also had the spectacle of Maureen Dowd getting caught ripping off Josh Marshal’s blog and then splitting hairs about what is the correct definition of intellectual property theft and we had Roger Cohen basically ripping off Iranian government talking points. The Times has a rich history: Walter Duranty, Jayson Blair, Roger Cohen….
Marc, don’t forget Amanda Hesser. She was, for a short time, the Restaurant Reviewer until it was exposed that her extremely close relationship with restuarantuer/chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten was tainting all her reviews. Rather than fire her, they just moved her to a different department. They never apologized to any of the restaurants she unfairly reviewed. Never re-reviewed them. Never took the third star away from Jean-George’s Spice Market which was one of the first, if not the first restaurant that Hesser reviewed giving it an undeserved 3 stars (each star is worth a fortune to restaurants in NYC).
At least the NYT is consistant.
Where will be the Wormy Apple of a Newspaper be with the story about the Dali Lama being escorted out the back door where the garbage is piled up at the White House? What, they showed the Dali Lama the back door because he is Asian and a Tibetan Monk? So he is Asian and Religious, that sounds like Racisim to me. Of the lowest form to boot.
She could have at least provided a link to the video to back up her critique, but she wants to keep the zombies fed, not let them decide for themselves.

The misuse and abuse of the word RACIST for any and all reasons has diminished the stigma of shame associated with the label.
It is time for the Mariam Webster to update their dictionary definition for the word RACIST.
Don’t assume everyone knows this guy Mattera. I’ve never heard of him. I’m glad this came up so now I’ll pay attention to him.
The only reason is because someone called him a racist and someone else wants to make a point about everyone being called a racist.
Maybe being called a racist is a good thing nowadays. It gets you some coverage. I admit, I probably wouldn’t have read an article titled, “Materra, Conservative Fire-Brand.”

The New York Times blogger is just another in a large group of people who have one big problem, they are projecting their own racial animous, their obsession with race, their race mongering mind set, and their lack of awareness of things beyond their leftist, hate filled universe, and/or their impairment in which they only see things through their raciist tinted glasses.
The next time a leftist-liberal-progressive-democrat tells someone they are racist, ask them to explain what they are doing with the money for therapy for the therapy doesn’t appear to be working.
If they ask, “What therapy?” just tell them, “The therapy to deal with your racism and your impulse to project your racism on others.”
I didn’t know people still read the NYT. Every time I walk by the newspaper stand in my local supermarket, i see a big pile of NYT that looks the same at 7 AM or 7 PM.
