Wanna get depressed instantly?

Read this.

And an even more depressing reminder: Only 14 Senate Republicans opposed Obama’s massive expansion of the national service boondoggle.

God save us from bipartisanship.

Just one more reason organizations such as Americorp should rely solely on donations and not Federal funds. At least then I could decide for myslef which organizations I choose to send my money to.

This is why government funding of any charity or “volunteer” organization is unconstitutional. I am forced, by proxy (taxes), to donate to something I may never have donated to on my own.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

It is devoted entirely to defending Americorps and Americorps workers, completely ignoring Castro’s story, which indicates there may be some rot in the system.

    Gee, ya think?

Hey Castro, how’s it feel to be a slave?

The whole focus of the Democrat Party is to make more and more people dependent upon it for their food, housing, clothing, medical care, schooling, you name it. This is a cancer on our society.

Yeah. I’ve be becoming ever more depressed gradually. It makes sense to get it over with as quickly as possible. America-Corpse (as babiesgrandma pointed out above), indeed.

Of course, the economist in me realizes this is just one more example of the “tragedy of the commons” in action. But that academic phrase renders it too clean.

Glad to see both of mine are against it. But, it still seems the Republican Party needs to be cleaned out.

All the more reason to attach a “constitutionality” clause to every federal bill that comes from (anti-pro) Congress. If Article, Section, Paragraph (book/chapter/verse) cannot be clearly cited, it must be scrapped.

Now I wait for the Wipe Your Butt Czar to make sure we do it right. We do not need a scalpel–we need an axe. The overgrowth is way out of control. Yes babiesgrandma “Ameri-Corpse” just might be more appropriate-they are digging our graves.

Great idea. Then some smarmy lawyer will say, “The necessary and proper clause…” and the socialists will wet themselves with glee.

Just once I’d like to hear a lawyer actually finish that clause:

To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United states, or in any department or officer thereof.

*bipartisanship = Republicans capitulating to what Democrats want.

That’s about the only thing that’s shovel-ready in this Administration.

A quick clarification on the article:

The author states that the worker makes $2500 a month and is still on food stamps.
This is highly unlikely. When I did Amercorps 5 years ago, and I know from first hand experience its a worthless program (though calling it a Hitler youth corps is beyond extreme), I got paid about $800 a month, or about $9600 a year.

I too was encouraged to go on food stamps. I did not. But at least at $9600/year it would have made some sense to do so.
