Open-borders insanity of the day

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 25, 2010 05:13 PM

“Please, please arrest me,” says an illegal alien who has been here 17 years and wanted to submit herself to federal custody to get on the road to citizenship. Yes, really.

Uncle Sam’s answer: Um, no.

Yes, really.

Via KETV in Omaha, Neb:

A Schuyler woman who has lived in the United States for 17 years and tried to get arrested in hopes of getting on the road to American citizenship said immigration agents wouldn’t take her in.

Jazmin Marino’s attorney, Bassel El-Kasaby of Omaha, said he felt that given her background, she had to get creative in order to get on track to naturalization. He said once Marino is arrested and on record, the process of citizenship can begin. After the attempt was unsuccessful, he’s announced plans to file a lawsuit.

Marino moved with her family from Mexico when she was just 5 years old. She said their problems started when they tried to begin the naturalization process.

“My parents got their work permits taken away,” she said. “My dad got deported.”

She said the problem was the result of botched paperwork filed by a lawyer who has since been disbarred. After graduating from high school in Schuyler, learning English as a first language and raising a child, her road to naturalization was closed.

“It’s really hard for the family to keep going on,” Marino said.

She turned to El-Kasaby, an Omaha attorney specializing in immigration. He said he felt Marino had only one possibility left.

“In years past, people would turn themselves in to immigration and immigration would process them,” El-Kasaby said.

The two went to Omaha’s federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office to have agents arrest Marino. El-Kasaby said he had even contacted an agent about it in advance.

“I told them that, ‘I’m here. So is my client. She’s undocumented. We’re both in the building. She would like to turn herself in,’” he said.

The agents refused to arrest her.

Who needs amnesty when de facto amnesty already rules the day?

Same voters then rejected pariot Tom Tancredo for Juan ‘Hernandez’ McCain and got Barak ‘Driver’s license for illegals’ Obama, whose own aunt is in this country illegaly, living off of same voters who rejected Tom Tancredo.

We are being sold out by corporations intent on importing workers for jobs that can’t be exported with the taxpayers paying the true costs, financial and human. We the People of the United States of America have the right to have our borders and our laws respected and enforced.

Citizens of other countries illegally in our country have no right to demand anything from our government. They most certainly have the right to petition the governments of their home countries for change if they are unhappy with their home country. If they want to be Americans, we have a path to citizenship, more generous than any other nation, and it starts in their home country.

We need to insist on the equal protection, application and enforcement of the law or devolve into anarchy. Our Republic only functions if everyone follows the same rules. We should not change the laws to accomodate those breaking them.

If America annouces to the world “We can’t stop you, so come on in” with another amnesty, the deluge will be overwhelming. If 3,000 a day didn’t get your attention, then wait until it’s 10,000 a day. We cannot sustain this influx and survive as a nation. We must speak up and speak to each other about this and not let false claims of racism or bigotry be used to intimidate us into silent assent. America is not Congress’ to give away. America belongs to We the People. Speak to your neighbors, speak to your coworkers, but please speak up to your Congressmen and Senators. It’s O.K. for us to enforce our laws, no really, it is.

    Someone please tell Sen. McCain.

We the People of the United States of America have the right to have our borders and our laws respected and enforced.

For anyone that believes anchor-babies are citizens, please read this article from the Hillsdale College newletter, Imprimus.

    Here’s an excerpt:

Senator Lyman Trumbull, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, rose to support his colleague, arguing that “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” meant “not owing allegiance to anybody else and being subject to the complete jurisdiction of the United States.” Jurisdiction understood as allegiance, Senator [Jacob] Howard [of Ohio, the author of the citizenship clause] interjected, excludes not only Indians but “persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, [or] who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers.” Thus “subject to the jurisdiction” does not simply mean, as is commonly thought today, subject to American laws or American courts. It means owing exclusive political allegiance to the U.S.

The following statement can be found in American Jurisprudence:

The intent of the legislature constitutes the law.

Since the intent of the 14th Amendment was to not give citizenship to children of illegal aliens, anchor-babies are unconstitutional.

    Someone please tell Sen. McCain.

He already knows and wants it to be 15-20,000 a day.

Does anyone believe that if amnesty had been passed the border would have been secured? Particularly after we were promised the same thing after the 1986 “one time only, never to be repeated” amnesty. It did not happen then, and it hasn’t happened now. If the government wanted to, they could secure the border now, without amnesty.

Refusing to protect the country until the citizens accept the abandonment of the rule of law is despicable, as is everyone who supports blackmailing the citzenry in that manner.

There is no doubt that the government could secure the border within a few weeks if they decided to do so. The simple fact is that the central government has made no effort to do so over the last 30 years.

The truth is that if the governors of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California decided to do so, they too could shut down illegal crossings to a trickle by using a few National Guard units and building some rather simple barriers in the right places.

While not all of our National Guard units are fit for combat in Central Asia, they are more than adequate to secure the most frequently used paths across the border. Make it 10 times harder to cross the border and a large percentage of people will stop trying.

They aren’t doing it because they don’t choose to do it.

I saw that too. My son, a Border Patrol Agent in the area, encounters them all the time. From my son, and other sources, I find that these “wolves” are more like sheep and rarely ever get out in the brush and chase bad guys — see how out of shape they were. . .you can’t be that bad a shape and run about the desert. besides, the corrupt BIA is many times in league with the smugglers.

“One of the officers trying to cut off a drug dealer trying to avoid other officers in the desert came upon a group of IBC’s (illegal border crossers). Correct, few agents cover a huge border, and those agents are very busy. The Border Patrol Agents came when they could. They have their own illegals and drug smugglers they are after.

“When the agents asked if he’d searched them, he almost exploded, ‘No! I was kind of outnumbered 19 to 1! I was hoping you’d help with that!’”

What a crock. Cowardly “wolf.” The Border Patrol Agents take down numbers like that, and more, and are outnumbered even worse, and THEY detain and search by themselves all the time. The “wolf” was stupid to allow a group to just sit there, possibly armed, and exposing himself to danger the whole time. Idiots wolf.
