National security stone wall: Fox tells you what Holder won’t
Corruptocrat AG Eric Holder refused to disclose the names of the terror lawyers in the DOJ. But you can find out what Team Obama doesn’t want you to know by heading over to the breaking news at FoxNews.com.
A day after a conservative group released a video condemning the Justice Department for refusing to identify seven lawyers who previously represented or advocated for terror suspects, Fox News has uncovered the identities of the seven lawyers.
The names were confirmed by a Justice Department spokesman, who said “politics has overtaken facts and reality” in a tug-of-war over the lawyers’ identities.
“Department of Justice attorneys work around the clock to keep this country safe, and it is offensive that their patriotism is being questioned,” said Justice Department Spokesman Matt Miller.
The video by the group Keep America Safe, which dubbed the seven lawyers “The Al Qaeda 7,” is the latest salvo in a lengthty political battle.
For several months, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has led an effort to uncover politically-appointed lawyers within the Justice Department who have advocated for Guantanamo Bay detainees or other terror suspects.
“The administration has made many highly questionable decisions when it comes to national security, ” Grassley said in a recent statement. “[Americans] have a right to know who advises the Attorney General and the President on these critical matters.”
An extensive review of court documents and media reports by Fox News suggests many of the seven lawyers in question played only minor or short-lived roles in advocating for detainees. However, it’s unclear what roles, if any, they have played in detainee-related matters since joining the Justice Department.
Fun fact: Assistant Attorney General Tony West, who works in DOJ’s Civil Division, represented “American Taliban” John Walker Lindh for several years.
Read the whole thing. You have a right to know. Now you do, thanks to the news organization that the White House communications team has spent the last year trying to delegitimize.
Viva transparency!

No, what’s offensive is the DOJ bringing in lawyers who may be terrorist sympathizers, then stonewalling Congress and the American people about it.
Liz Chaney lives in Eric Holder’s head….rent free.
Here is the list in concise form:
http://freealabamastan.blogspot.com/2010/03/obama-defenders-of-islamist-war.html
Remember. No business with these law firms. None.
Putting Obama appointees in the DOJ is like putting George Kennedy in the cockpit.
So??????????????????????
Who are they, Fox News? Is Fox going to set on them now?
“The cockpit? What is it?”
Got to leave someone a hanging curveball……
Are they the people who outed our CIA interrogators? Our CIA interrogation methods? CIA holding cells around the world?
Was going to rag on people suckered by MSNBC, but working in a “pit” with the Peacock’s suckers was just torturing the metaphor so much I was worried the DOJ might investigate me.
Then I thought I might drag Lewenski jokes out of retirement, but I remembered we’re going to have nationalized healthcare, so I didn’t want to risk putting my back out with something that heavy.
If someone else wants to try the latter, just remember to lift with the kneepads.
As an afterthought, I don’t think there’s any way Lewenski could qualify as a grand slam…
Among the most interesting words from the piece are ” . . . played only minor or short-lived roles in advocating for detainees.”
They were doing their jobs as lawyers.
Yes, one lawyer advocated for one defendant for several years. He was doing his job.
Should any evidence arise about any lawyer doing anything ‘more’ than advocating for their client, then deal with it at that time, using our laws.
OUR government is working AGAINST us!
Never thought I’d live to see a communist takeover in this country where the government aids our enemies and wages war on its own citizen.
Elections may not work, what then?
Your point is well taken, but I’m more curious to know if any of their former work was “pro-bono,” and if so, why?
Z, that was the point I was trying to make in the other thread. There were charged that lawyers A,B,C, and D went beyond their legal duties in helping their clients.
What we wanted to see was were A – D some of those lawyers. It appears they weren’t.
But when you are an idiot and a Progressive Marxist like Holder, the “people’s right ot know” escapes him.
zyzzyg,
Its a MAJOR conflict of interest. One should not be working on defending the scum one day, and setting policy for dealing with the scum the next.
No one can hit a curveball!!!!!
“The cockpit? What is it?”
It’s the little room where the pilots sit, but that’s not important right now…”
Ah…… all have forgottn “Airplane.”
Read to the end of the Fox article. The Bush Administration hired some jihadi lawyers too. Although I suspect that previously entrenched liberals at the DOJ may have had something to do with it.
Patriots my A$$,BTW I find the whole thing offensive,Matt.
JT,
So, no defense attorney should ever be allowed to become a prosecutor (or vice versa)? Of course, these people should not (and will not) be allowed to work on cases they worked on while in private practice (or prosecute people they defended in private practice), but defending one criminal/terrorist/scumbag does not mean that it is a conflict of interest to prosecute another criminal/terrorist/scumbag.
We disagree and that is OK.

You have got to love the beauty of the laws of probability. Out of a total of 1,200,000 available lawyers, the Obama administration ends up hiring as many as sixteen who have represented muslim terrorist detainees. Damn, that must be a real sweet spot on the old resume review with the DOJ human resources department.
OK, what were the charges? And, are those charges being pursued?
You are saying that laws have been broken, correct? That being the case, prosecutions must be pursued.
Well, we should be thankful at least the lefties can’t either… because their only excuse is that their base is loaded.
Cue muted trombone: WAH Wah wah wahahahahaha…..

“It’s an entirely different kind of flying all together.”
(chorally) “It’s an entirely different kind of flying.”
“Surely you can’t be serious?”
“I am serious and don’t call me Shirley.”
It was a long day at work and to be frank, none of this is surprising.
“But if I’m going to be frank, then Frank will have to be Hawkeye.”
More OT, but sublime….
I was in Sam’s Club the other day, and a woman was giving out free food samples. I saw a rice concoction in a little paper sample cup.
I said, “What is it?”
She replied, “Its Herb and Rice.”
I retorted, “I prefer Rural Rice.”
{Dead Silence} It Google Earthed her head.
As I was leaving, she came up to me smiling, “OH, I GET IT.”
You get three guesses and the first two don’t count.
I do not question the patriotism of the Obama Administration, there is nothing to question, it is painfully obvious they are not patriots, at least not to THIS country.
Now maybe we can find out who let the NBPP off.
Lets not forget that 53% of Americans put this band of nutcases in charge of our Government. The blame starts with those voters.
Character means rising above the excuse of “just doing one’s job” to doing the right thing.
And scripture says to avoid the even the apprearance of evil. But I wouldn’t expect DOJ lawyers to know much scripture.
