Video flashbacks: Eric Massa attacks Rush Limbaugh, embraces Eliot Spitzer
Scroll for updates…

Ew.
As I mentioned this afternoon, Democrat Rep. Eric Massa owes much of his career and political success to anti-war nutball Gen. Wesley Clark.
Massa served under Clark and worked on Clark’s doomed presidential campaign. Clark provided the cash-strapped Massa critical PAC support, nutroots help, and funding for Massa’s congressional bid.
Gen. Clark, you may recall, was also the speech-stifling zealot who led the backdoor “Fairness Doctrine” drive to kick Rush Limbaugh off of Armed Forces Radio in 2007. The pretext for that censorship campaign was Harry Reid and the Left’s false claim that Rush had “smeared” American troops because he dared to mention the disturbing trend of phony, anti-war soldiers like the infamous Jesse MacBeth (see here and here for refresher courses on Winter Soldier Syndrome). You may remember that Rush turned the Democrats’ attack on its head and raised millions of dollars to benefit the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation by auctioning off Reid’s bully letter.
Well, here’s another reminder that the relentlessly opportunistic Massa chimed in on the side of Clark, Reid, and the leftists providing cover for anti-war fraudsters like MacBeth and his ilk. In fact, he recorded a YouTube campaign spot attacking Rush that as of 11:40pm Eastern tonight, was still featured on his MassaforCongress channel:
Transcript…
MASSA 1:38:00 — “You’re a pompous coward and it’s about time that someone called you out on it. And that someone is me. My name is Eric Massa. I’ll go on your show any day. And I’ll say it to your face and I’ll say it anywhere. You did your best to dodge military service while hundreds of thousands of Americans wore the uniform to give you the privilege of misusing the radio waves and spread propagandistic lies that are wholly inaccurate about our military service members. I know them personally. Many of them are deep and dear friends of mine. And I daresay, Mr. Limbaugh, if you asked any of them today, they’d much rather stand with those of us who stood with each other rather than with you.
I’m tired of your tactics..You might have a lot of weight to throw around, but it doesn’t carry a lot of weight with me. Rush Limbaugh, I’ll go on your show any day. My name is Eric Massa and you know where to find me.
“Conservative hero” my foot.
“Crapweasel” is too kind a description for the desperate, bottom-feeding Massa. He is not a useful idiot. He’s just an idiot.
Leave him to the likes of Democrat creep Eliot Spitzer. Blech (and note that this ad ran just one day before Spitzer resigned as a result of Client Number Nine-gate. Birds of a feather:
Takeaway line delivered by Spitzer: “Together, we’re going to clean up waste, fraud, and abuse in government.”
Creep Factor: 10+

More from New York blogger/columnist Bob Lonsberry.
The Washington Post reports that “conservative activists [have] rallied to the side of” Rep. Eric Massa “after he charged that his party’s leaders had conspired to oust him over his opposition to President Obama’s health-care legislation.” I’m quite willing to believe the worst about Rahm Emmanuel and the Democratic leadership in the House. However, I’m not prepared on the current record to “rally to the side” of Rep. Massa.
My reluctance stems from the fact that Massa’s story doesn’t seem to add up. His claim, as I understand it, is that the charges of sexual harassment against him represent a conspiracy to force him to leave the House before it votes on health care legislation. Massa is a committed “no” vote.
Massa says he’s innocent of anything more than a few borderline comments at a party. But he has resigned in order, he says, to avoid an investigation that would injure his family and divide his staff.
But if Massa’s version of the facts is correct, then he has little to fear from an investigation. Moreover, any investigation would likely occur only after Massa cast his “no” vote. If he truly believed he was the victim of the vicious plot he alleges, Massa would likely stick around to cast his vote and then leave town. What better way to get back at Emmanuel and company?

Update from John McCormack at Weekly Standard: “Reliable sources on Capitol Hill say the House ethics report on Eric Massa will be damning.”

AMF Eric. The door is right over there….
It would be nice if Beck would have Michelle on his show Wednesday to rebut Massa’s performance scheduled for tonight.
I do love Glenn Beck, but it seems he acts in haste from time to time.

Mostly I think Rush was just using him as an example of the thuggery of the Obama Politburo, but he should be more careful about appearing to embrace the guy’s politics.
I have nothing but respect for men and women in uniform, but the truth is the lefties in the military are all in support elements. Overseas, the front line soldiers, sailors and marines are the ones who perform their missions, no complaints. They work very dangerous missions, get little sleep, the sleep they do get is in sleeping bags on the ground, water bottle showers, MRE’s and many times only one a day. The support are the uniformed persons who get to stay on the big bases, work usually 9 to 5, have three hots and a cot in a temperature controlled area, hot showers, have the PX close by to buy snacks and dvd’s and they complain constantly.
Front line men and women love Rush, support men and women hate Rush. Before I get attacked, the truth is that is the way it is and stereotypes happen for a reason. Support soldiers, sailors and marines are needed and extremely important, but that is where you find the libs in the military. I just would love to here this Massa moron come on Rush’s show with his troops, but they have to say what their job is before they confess to how much they hate Rush’s show. All Rush would have to do is ask for military members who support him to call in (there would be many who would) and tell their job before they give their support. It would be like a dental hygienist v. a ranger…. It would be no contest.
I suspect, given Limbaughs girth when he was of selective service age, he WOULDN’T have been a good candidate for service.
But, I, too never served, so I don’t know.
I’m a vet and I get tired of the hero worship of anyone who has been in the military. Wearing a uniform doesn’t make you a hero. To be a hero you have to actually do something heroic.
Most people in the military are just regular, good people who enlisted for various reasons, usually for the benefits. There are also some real scumbags in the service.
I don’t hold it against Rush or anyone else for not enlisting. Military service isn’t for everyone, and not everyone should be in the military, including some wearing the uniform now.
Massa is just a scumbag using military service as a prop for his own self promotion.
Massa should be careful what he wishes for. I’d bet if he was a guest on Rush’s program he’d get eviscerated and made to look the fool he is.
Clark, also was base commander of Ft Hood, Tx, and gave military assistance to the FBI, during the Branch Davidian massacre, in Waco.
As a reward President Clinton promoted him and made him commander of NATO.
As a Vietnam Veteran, and a Marine, I’ve known many Veterans, and I can tell you that having served in the military does not exclude you from the left-wing nut-case club. Clark, and Massa, prove that.
IMHO Rush would chew him up and spit him out.
I thought that rush pointing out some ‘phony soldiers’ was actually pointing out that they were phonies in that they NEVER ACTUALLY SERVED! There were people in the election a couple years ago that campaigned as X or Y Vet but had never actually served as I recall, and that is what Rush was attacking if memory serves.
Massa is like the mob informer (think “Goodfellas” movie). He’s a sleaze, but he can possibly help the real good guys take down some even worse creeps. Mob informers are never asked to join the FBI, though.
Massa might have some good inside dope, especially on what the actual head count is on Obamacare.
single stack
…Thank you for your post, there is nothing to add.
This is a military man? One of America’s fighting finest? When was the last time you let someone scream in your face and thump you in the chest and not put him on his back? He is without a doubt someone schooled in the Wesley Clark theory of military pride.
Having been both and 0311 and an 1141 I can say that, as far as the Marine Corps goes, that’s a load of bovine manufactured fertilizer. At least the way you make it sound.
Hopefully the Republicans are only using Massa to expose the confusion and bumbling efforts of the current administration. Other than that, he’s only still a wounded liberal who just wants to strike out at anything within his reach.
Remember, there is no honor among thieves. Once he’s served his purpose, it’s probably best to move along and leave him behind.
As we say in Texas he’s T$Ts on a BULL.
Maybe some fellow vets who served with Mazza could tell us how good a Navy man he was. (Swift Boat scoop?)
I think Massa is going to sink the obamacare ship with his comments on Glenn Beck. There is no question that this has the low life obama team scared because it could easily further arose the Tea Party movement and more. Massa may be a sleaze and an idiot but he is useful in exposing what is happening with the socialists.
I, too, question the wisdom of Rush, Sean, and Glenn for hanging on to every word in the Massa diatribe they all overplayed yesterday. A small amount of research reveals that Massa is a person I would not align myself with. ‘Nuff said.
aero, I agree with you on Sean but believe Rush and Glenn can be trusted to figure out the score. We’ll see tho …
Nice sounding statements from a bad source do not a case make. Can’t we find appropriate statements from people who consistently conduct themselves likewise?
For a long time now the MSM has used speculation and inferences as fact when they want to disparage Republicans/Conservatives etc.
All the smut Massa unloads will turn the tables back on the Dems. And I say that’s OK.
This guy seems to have gathered all the rumors if you’re interested.
corkie, thanks for the link.
In my (Swift boat scoop) comment, I was actually wondering about his contribution to the Navy/our country. Wasn’t expecting to learn more about his ‘predatory social life’ … well, I guess that’s why he’s in trouble now, eh?
I just hope it doesn’t tarnish Glenn Beck’s reputation to have this guy on for a whole hour tonight. I mean, at the beginning, I could tell Glenn Beck was really excited about the guy. But hopefully, he has done his fact-checking and will make things clear tonight. Otherwise, the left will nail Beck to the wall. We need Glenn Beck very badly today and I don’t want the progressives to get their lumps against him. They are trying their hardest to destroy him as it is.
Problem, at least with Glenn, is that he often figures out the score long after he has put his foot in his mouth and licked it clean. He has had to retract on he Patriot Act, bailouts, and the like, and he’s still busying himself calling those who wish to secure proof of Obama’s natural born status as “kooks”, despite the fact that there are more compelling arguments for their position than there are for his.
I’m a huge fan of Glenn Beck. He is by far the best conservative voice out there – better than Hannity and even Rush himself – but nobody is perfect. Sadly with Glenn, his imperfect moments seem to loom pretty large.

Hard to tell.
His flip-flops have been well-covered with excellent explanations as to why they happened. Perhaps any “tarnish” in this situation can be explained as well.
Still not sure how he’s going to defend his calling people kooks for wanting the Constitution upheld, but that’s another story.

Meeee toooo!
I may be wrong but when I listened to his interview with Medina (TX) he sounded at first to be ‘totally into her’. Then as the interview moved to the Truther thing.. he backed away.
You might be right that the WH is behind this whole thing to divert our attention.
Regarding the “birther” thing. I have a theory on that too. I think maybe Glenn Beck is investigating that behind the scenes and doesn’t want to tip his hand by giving validity to the story just yet. Seriously, I think he is probably working on it! He would be a fool not too! If he could find the “proof”, it would be the biggest story of his career.
Fact Checking: does Michelle get $$$ for helping Glenn and Rush?
Good job Michelle!
Not sure why he’d be calling these people “kooks” of this were the case.

My thoughts move to the Global Warming hoax…. lotza push-back.
I agree with everything Michelle said, but I just want to make the point regarding Elliot Spitzer that most men buy some form of prostitution at some point in their lives. I wish people would stop focusing on spitzer’s CLIENT NO. 9 activity as if it is out of the norm. I am not saying his behaviour is good, I am just pointing out that well over 50% of men do this sort of thing, in one form or another. So, to tatto Spitzer as being a deviant doesn’t make sense. I am not saying Michelle did this, just that the stigma attached to Spitzer should be.
I agree, except maybe he has been labled a “kook” on so many other issues that he is currently “picking his battles” and throwing them off the trail. If they think he is not checking into this, he has a better chance of succeeding. Again, this is just a theory of mine. Time will tell.
“Well over 50% of the men do this”??? Seriously? Not in the Conservative world!! I don’t believe that statistic, as over 50% of the people in this country lean to the right, and therefore have some moral convictions.
Let me be more clear. When I said that more than 50% of men engage in activity similar to Elliot Spitzer, I meant that although men might not directly call an escort, most of them at one time or another visit a strip club or massage parlour etc. In these two places, many inappropriate things take place that are really no better than what Spitzer engaged in, just slightly different in scope and delivery. I mean, I guy that visits the V.I.P. section of a strip club, buys EXTRA’S and then mocks Spitzer for buying the services of a prostitute is being disingenuous. I for one, and I consider myself to be quite conservative don’t know any guy who hasn’t been to a strip club in his life at least once. To belive that men don’t give in to temptation from time to time and take a girl back to the V.I.P. room is just nonsensical.
Source?
My extensive network of friends and acquantances, which I suppose, would be similar to other men’s web of contacts.
For instance, my friend is suprised that I have behaved as has Elliot Spitzer, but he regularly goes to strip clubs, visits the V.I.P. rooms and….well….you know. He says he would never visit an escort because he has a serious girlfriend, yet he does his strip club thing. He doesn’t make sense unless he is trying to convince himself of something he just wants to believe is true, even though it isn’t.
The point Michelle is making and seems to be lost on so many people is: if you don’t want to caught waking up with whores, don’t get in bed with them in the first place. It’s not what they say, it’s what they are that matters. The ends don’t justify the means. You can’t lie your way to virtue. I can go on.
Virtue matters. This guy is a total scumbag who poisons everything he touches. Let him touch someone else.
If half the guys I knew were into visiting prostitutes, frequenting strip joints, etc., I’d make it a point to look for new friends pronto.
Decisions, decisions, decisions…are we to believe Massa – or Rhambo?
So when a Dem – who hates Rush Limbaugh, as Michelle notes – wants to snitch to the American citizenry on his party re: Obama/Dems thuggery, bribes and coercion, that Dem instead should be silenced?
Should mobsters (usually unsavory crapweasels themselves) be forbidden to testify against other mobsters?
Why is Glenn Beck being such a dick to Michelle on his show? WTF?
Beck is trying to “Medina” Michelle.
Is this on the radio show? What’s he doing?
From Wikipedia:
As married men, Spitzer and Massa and Tiger Woods are on another level:
I’ve always believed that when the enemy is destroying itself, you shouldn’t interfere.
“I don’t care what Massa says.” Sounds like something a pre-bellum slave about to get acquainted with the cat-o-nine-tails would say, doesn’t it? Scuse me, while I call myself a racist.
But it’s true — who cares what this guy says? He’s a donk: as far as him “lowering the bar” to 216 in the House to pass donkey-care, what does it matter? He’d just be bought off with public-money bribes if he hadn’t resigned.
One less donk in Congress. As far as I’m concerned, that’s the alpha and omega of the story.
Stats aside, upnorth I think I understand where you are coming from. Many males I know, although mellow now were Tom Cats in their youth. The thing about Spitzer, mayyyybe alittle too old PLUS married .. that’s sleeze.
Hey! I resemble that remark…
Your point is incongruous. Massa has no credibility with either side. It is not clear that what he is saying is even true so is he snitching or is this just the latest rantings of a paranoid ambitious loser? We will get little mileage out of this beyond the headline damage of being featured on Drudge.
Stay true to who we are. It undermines our message when we lower ourselves to their level. What good did Specter’s defection do to the Dem’s? And Specter is not the despicable crapweasel that Massa is.
We only dirty ourselves by associating ourselves by having anything to do with this guy.
Yipes! Correction:
We only dirty ourselves by having anything to do with this guy.
cicero, when you put it that way… so do I!!
Any soldier who finds General Clark anything other than repellant is on the wrong side of me. This Massa seems like a great example of don’t ask, don’t tell, and don’t do much either. As an old 11bangbang from the viet era, those who served served, but anyone in the service knows there are 3 – 4 SUPPORT personnel for every trigger puller and cannon cocker on the line.
Well, we’ll just have to disagree then, Phil. I think you’re confused in reacting to a charge on Politico (always a bad idea) that he’s a “conservative hero”. Michelle made that same error – since nobody, other than the Dems who desperately want his silence, are making the “conservative hero” claim. Taking that leftist claim to build a strawman from is unwise, to my thinking.
If some ayatollah or mullah wants to put a fatwa out on Bin Laden or go jihad on him, I’m all for it. If Barney Frank wanted to rip the Dems on healthcare, I’d give him the megaphone. Encouraging garbage to take out other garbage isn’t “having anything to do” with them, it’s simply letting them do each other in. Makes our work easier and I can live with that. When they’re shooting themselves in the foot, give ‘em free ammo.
Where I work, I know that bad kids, when caught, will rat on their homies.
Massa may be a weasel, but he’s ratting out the bigger weasels.
Please tell M/M has personally called Beck to make sure he’s up to speed on Massa before tonight’s interview!!!
And if nothing more, it puts the bug in the ear of people who may still think the Dems are to be trusted.
Yup – that’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout; a crapweasel outting other crapweasels is a good thing.
If any Dems complain, Beck can just say “You wanted Fairness Doctrine, so I’m giving you some!”
rightwingmom, I suspect Beck knows the score. In fact, he seemed annoyed today that some people got the idea he’s going to spend an hour “worshiping the guy and exchanging cookie recipes”. (or some words to that effect)
He’s not ratting out anyone. He is just creating a scene. There is not telling us anything we didn’t already know and coming from him, let Drudge’s headlines do their damage. We are only soiling ourselves by getting involved.
I’d say Rahm and the Obama gang would qualify as “someone”.
Phil, you’re still not getting it – not everyone reads Michelle’s blog. I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone with a bigger audience than Glenn Beck for a Dem crapweasel to rip on other Dem crapweasels. Let Obama and gang be off message, distracted by this scandal all week rather than them spending it touting the greatness of Obamacare & attacking the evil insurance industry and leaving the GOP to play reactive defense.
The attack has more than one prong. A football team with one offensive play (hoping that Stupak won’t sell out) is certain to lose.
Purplepeep: first of all, you put the accent on “anyone” when I put it on “ratting out”. Massa is not telling us anything we didn’t already know.
Second, Beck may have a bigger audience than Michelle but this is still preaching to the choir. The real damage was done by Drudge. He mainstreamed the message. All we are doing here is soiling ourselves while we do a meaningless gloating happy dance.
I expect you’re the only one who doesn’t think he’s intent on payback (“ratting out”, whatever term), Phil. The Dems are certainly in damage control mode now and that’s fine with me, let them deal with the members who’ve strayed off the Dem reservation.
That’s a silly argument, Phil. Because even if it were a case of someone “preaching to the choir” – then, if you believe that is wrong – Michelle and every other pundit would have to cease their activities. Who would be allowed to say anything if the requirement is the readers/audience has to be wildly diverse or hostile?
Also, barring any private previews I’m not aware of, near as I can tell the program hasn’t even been aired yet. If someone is freaked out, they simply need to turn their telly off.
I believe it’s an error not keeping one’s powder dry. I think Michelle erred in not waiting until after the program was aired before offering a critique. I think Beck was wrong in somewhat dissing Michelle; I believe he has apologized, I hope it was sincere and that she accepted it.
But either way the world will still turn ’round & ’round – no need to panic or even get mildly peeved over an interview. Life goes on, the sun rises, the sun sets.
