Weapon of Massa distraction: Cold showers and hot conspiracies
Don’t trust Democrat Rep. Eric Massa any further than you can throw him.
He’s been a progressive zealot and political opportunist his entire career. He’s claimed conspiracy before, is intimately bonded with the nutroots, and climbed the political ladder with backing from the odious, anti-war-hoaxer-embracing Gen. Wesley Clark. What Massa dismissively calls his “salty old sailor” talk should raise bright red flags about possible longstanding predatory behavior.

Look, I’m as happy as anyone to see Rahmbo and the Chicago Way slammed so openly by another Democrat. Naked shower fights? Blue-on-blue catfights?
Yep, it confirms everything I’ve been writing about the Obama Culture of Corruption the last two years.
But.
He’s a sick, desperate pol looking to save his hide and distract from his smelly ethics problems and personal problems. This is not a hero, not a bona fide champion of reform and integrity in government. He’s the jerk who gave the figurative middle finger to his own constituents as he proclaimed last year that he would ram single-payer down their throats no matter what they thought:
So, last year he’s the pol willing to go kamikaze to pass nationalized health care.
And now, tainted by scandal, he’s running to Fox News to cast himself as a warrior against Obamcare and its left-wing overlords?
A radical backer of the Big Labor card check bill, he’s now trashing union corruption.
C-r-a-p-w-e-a-s-e-l.
We don’t need this weapon of Massa distraction to indict the Obama thugs and to expose the Demcare bribe-a-thon. Don’t need him to keep the no-mentum going.
Stay on the pro-life House Democrats.
Keep pounding away at the vulnerable House members.

We don’t need him, but the Democrats need him even less. Anytime they’re running around trying to stamp out their internal fires, that’s a good thing.
I wouldn’t make any one person or group the focus – even the pro-life Dems, since a bone tossed their way (another Obama bribe) can easily flip them.
All of these elements are helpful as a whole, but I agree putting all one’s eggs in any individual basket is counter-productive.

Remember the days when we used to mock Greece, France and Italy for all of the communist union strikes that seem to be perpetually going on? That and all of the violence that accompanies these strikes may soon be party of the American landscape if we don’t nip this in the bud. Ban government employee unions NOW! No taxpayer funding for unions!

I guess I can’t see the significance of Mr Massa. Just another flatulence in the Washington wind – a brief malodorous moment. Michelle is correct to point out he should not be elevated to any heroic stature, but hey, if he is a BarryCare no vote, knock yourself out politicritter. Then go away.
I reckon Michelle answered that pretty well, tarpon – I’d just add that while the message may be right, the messenger isn’t quite right. That could result in backside wounds if the boomerang comes back atcha.
So nuke a bag of popcorn and watch the Democrats try to deal with this – it’s their problem. Besides, as Red Pill sez above, if the Massa were serious about this he would’ve stayed in to vote down Obamacare.
I find it curious that Massa attacked these people after he quit. If he were innocent as he claims why didn’t he stay and fight? The whole episode smells and it makes all the Dems and politicians in general seem venal, power-mad, self-serving and slimy…
I bet Rahm wouldn’t be traipsing around like that in the shower had he known that Massa likes to pee in the shower just like George Constanza.

Shockingly, everything we really know about the Mafia, comes from mobsters. Usually, when they spill the beans it’s to save their own hides. Again, it’s kinda the way it works. There wouldn’t be too many mobsters behind bars if we relied on the uninvolved.

In the end, a Democrat is a Democrat. Anything they say or believe in has an expiration date, strictly for political, social or self-gratifying reasons.
If he was innocent of the charges AND an honorable man, he would have stayed and fought. He is just trying to be a victim and looking to drag conservatives on his side because they oppose the health care boondoggle. Yes to the opposition, no to falling for Massa’s call to victimhood.

It is not the nice people who witness Chicago politics first hand. Its the scumbags like Massa, who see Rahm the DeadFish do his Mafia thuggery pose naked in the shower. It is not wise to dismiss this based on Massa’s credibility. The White House is a conspiracy, so why let them off the hook?
Right on Michelle, he is not a poster boy because he is in a p!$$!ng match with the dem party. We should all laugh as they get their shoes wet, but to think he is the next Zell Miller is beyond a stretch. He’s a gay pol with friends like General Clark. I just watched Glenn’s show from earlier (on tape – people needed the TV and I was cooking and eating dinner during the actual show). I do see Glenn’s point in that we may have overreacted to his decision to have this interview.
I also agree with what Glenn said at the end of his show. The interview was a waste of time. All that was accomplished was a chance for this dirtbag to pull a Jimmy Swaggart and try to rescue a tiny thread of a reputation, something that could have been done anywhere, preferably alone with his family where it would have had a chance to make a difference.
No new information. No real contrition. Just someone trying to make himself look the victim when he was the villain all along.

Also, OT, if you don’t mind a shameless plug, I’ve updated the Federalist Party Platform with ideas that were submitted by my readers. It’s not appreciably different from the original, but there were some refinements that were worth incorporating.
The Party really only exists in concept. We Federalists are more of a grassroots movement as opposed to an organized one. The platform is a statement of what a political party should be shooting for if it wants our votes.
Of course, Michelle, if you find this comment out of line, please do not hesitate to delete it.
