Kids are taught fish have feelings and you’re only REALLY a good person if you’re “green”.

You ought to see Switzerland’s laws on pet/animal care. I believe it’s a law there where you can’t “fight” a fish for more than 20 minutes; since fish have feelings. The desire to own a dog requires a future owner to take courses and know the laws (like walking the dog, etc.).

This was largely inspired and prompted by windmill-atop-buildings Nanny Bloomberg, who also seeks (along with sickly-green City Council members) to replace meat and milk products in public school (colleges too) with soy substitutes. They’ve already gotten the beverage industry to kowtow so they’re very gung-ho about getting their way. Even the fur industry doesn’t hold conventions here anymore. In upstate NY, they want to pass a law that requires you to have a forestry inspect first if you want to chop down a tree on your OWN land within the huge State Preserve.
