Valerie Jarrett: Hurray for Obama’s “womanly leadership”

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 15, 2010 06:00 AM

It’s moronic exchanges like this one between White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and rambling Indian magazine editor Shoma Chaudhury — who slobbers all over President Obama for his “womanly” leadership — that should make every rational woman cringe.

First, there’s the nauseating gender identity politics pandering.

Second, there’s the snort-worthy detachment from reality (the Chicago thug-in-chief is “bringing the temperature down”?).

Third, there’s the embarrassing non-question question of a “journalist” unabashedly engaging in the obscene ego stroke of a government official.

This is the danger of thinking with your ovaries instead of your brain:

If you can’t watch neuron-impairing feminist drivel this early in the morning, I’ve transcribed the above clip for you:

Chaudhury: The criticism of the Obama administration seems to be particularly “male,” you know? When you say ‘why aren’t you fighting back, why aren’t you policing?’ I think we’ve been talking about having women in leadership positions, and Obama’s attitude to leadership is really a very womanly one, you know, which is consensual, which is thought through, which calms the temperature down of the world, and it’s very important to remember that, you know.

Jarrett: Thank you.

Chaudhury: Yesterday, Barbara Walters kept asking, ‘Should we police the world? You know, are we doing this? Should America fix it?’ And, I think, you know, I’m from India, and we really respect, uh, the Obama administration, purely for changing the way people speak, for changing the discourse of the world, and for bringing the temperature down, you know. This is a womanly leadership.”

Jarrett: Thank you. I’m going to tell him you said that. I think he’ll be very pleased to hear that that’s how you describe it. And I think I’m going to use that in terms of taking the temperature down. Because it has to come down if you are actually going to listen to one another, you have to take a lot of the heat out of the discourse. I think he’s very good at doing that, thank you.

Uh-huh.

Examples of Obama’s “womanly leadership” on the domestic front: “Punch back twice as hard” and Shut up and get out of the way.

I suppose this is what Chaudhury means by “womanly leadership:”

As for “bringing down the temperature,” I guess Ms. Chaudhury missed this:

Dozens of Indonesian Muslim students protested in front of the US embassy Friday against US President Barack Obama’s visit later this month to the world’s largest Muslim-majority country.

The around 50 protestors, who were coordinated by a Muslim university student body, shouted “Reject Obama… God is greater,” and threw their shoes at posters of Obama, copying a protest in Iraq against former US president George W. Bush.

Obama, who is hugely popular in Indonesia as he spent several years of his childhood in Jakarta in the late 1960s, is expected to visit the country for three days starting from March 20.

“Just like Bush, he is a war president and an enemy of Islam,” protest coordinator Fikri Ahmad Irhamul told AFP.

“He sent thousands of soldiers to Afghanistan, and many of our Muslim brothers have died because of him,” Irhamul said.

Small protests were also held in other cities across Indonesia.

I know this is going to be controversial, but the 19th Amendment only mentions the right to vote. It does not explicitly ammend the Constitution to make any of the following “he” or “his” references gender-neutral.

No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen.

No person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.

The Senate shall chuse their other Officers, and also a President pro tempore, in the absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the Office of President of the United States.

No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office.

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively. If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law, in like Manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their Adjournment prevent its Return, in which Case it shall not be a Law.

The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice-President chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:

The President shall, at stated Times, receive for his Services, a Compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the Period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them.

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:

    etc.

I am quite happy with Michelle Bachman, Virginia Foxx, Sarah Palin, etc., and I not don’t mean the above in any “sexist” way at all. It’s merely a statement of fact that the original Constitution is filled with references to “he” and “his”, and the 19th Amendment does not change the language of those references.

The 19th Amendment clearly gave women the right to vote, but it is not clear to me that it gave women the right to hold office in the U.S. Government.

I have no doubt that, if deemed necessary for any reason, a new ammendment could be quickly passed and ratified in order to give women the Constitutional right to hold elected office. But, if that were deemed necessary, would it mean that all women currently holding office would have to leave office until the ammendment was passed and ratified?

Again, I’m not being sexist, just Constitutionalist. I’m quite happy with many of the women holding office, I’m just not sure the 19th Amendment covered that.

    Punahou grad…and Harvard…

    Alohaguy,

    Aloha kakahiaka. Pehea `oe?

Before I go on, to be certain it should be acknowledged that men do Hula, and many Kumu Hula are men, such as Keali’i Reichel, Kaui Kamana’o, Kunewa Mook, and others, and some beautiful, graceful, breathtaking, awe inspiring Hula have been choreographed by men.

With that said, in context with President Barack Hussein Obama and the comment about his womanly leadership, the next thing you know we will see Barack Hussein Obama, who leads like a woman, wearing a skirt, and with long hair, dancing a Hula with the Wahine!

President Barack Hussein Obama is supposed to be kama`aina.

    Mahalo!

    Maui no ka ‘oi!

    Aloha a hui hou
