Here is Larry Scary O’Donnell — who can usually be seen frothing at the mouth with bulging neck veins as he melts down on MSNBC — sloooowly reading a teleprompter as he chastises me, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck for “attacking” 11-year-old Marcelas Owens. Nice to see your Valium working, Larry:
As usual, he gets basic facts wrong — like accusing Rush and me of being “desperate to catch up” with Beck. Actually, he’s got the timeline upside-down, as the enraged Media Matters chronology correctly lays out here.

Also wrong: At 3:28, O’Donnell falsely claims I called the parents of S-CHIP poster child Graeme Frost “spoiled brats” — a misattribution which he also regurgitated from Media Matters.
Also moronic: At 6:45 in the video, O’Donnell says conservatives can’t find a single person on Medicaid or Medicare who is unhappy with his/her coverage. Ahem, meet NYTimes columnist Nick Kristof’s favorite health care poster boy, John Brodniak.
Facts, schmacts.
At 7:25 in the video, liberal columnist Chris Hayes of the Nation decries the tendency of conservative pundits to “raise questions and point out errors.” God forbid we do that. Doing the health care anecdote-vetting the Left won’t do? FASCISTS!!!
O’Donnell dubs our analyses of Owens and his left-wing activist grandmother’s claims “childish attacks.” But it’s immature demagogues like O’Donnell who refuse to grow up. I repeat what I said about the NYTimes’ shoddy, gullible, unquestioning coverage of the story four days ago:
The Times fails to mention that Owens’ grandmother and family have been longtime activists for the left-wing, single-payer advocates of the Washington Community Action Network or that the boy and his grandmother traveled to Washington with sponsorship from the Astroturf lobbyists of the Health Care for America Now outfit, which characterized Marcelas as an “insurance abuse survivor.”
Never mind that there is not a shred of evidence that any health insurer ever “abused” Marcelas. Never mind that the family has made no claim that Marcelas himself has survived without insurance (in Washington state, low-income children have been covered either through Medicaid, SCHIP, or the SCHIP expansion program Apple Health for Kids). The usual hyperventilating from the Left — horrible conservatives “targeting” poor, innocent kid! conservatives “assault” poor, innocent kid! — just proves my point. Despite President Obama’s repeated admonition that health care reform is a “complex issue that can’t be reduced to snippets,” it’s exactly what Reid, Murray, Schumer, and his Owens’ grandmother propped up young Marcelas to do. Anyone who questions the narrative and absolute moral authority of the kiddie human shield is a heartless, right-wing stalker who should be vilified, if not arrested.
As always, the current ruling majority is incapable of holding an adult discussion on the costs and consequences of its plans.

Lyman Sornberger, executive director of patient financial services at the Cleveland Clinic, said “all indications” at the outset are that she will be considered for assistance.
“She may be eligible for state Medicaid … and/or she will be eligible for charity (care) of some form or type. … In my personal opinion, she will be eligible for something,” he said, adding that Canfield should not be worried about losing her home.
“Cleveland Clinic will not put a lien on her home,” he said.

Bottom line on this health care boondoggle is if it was such good idea it would have been passed last year…with the majority of Americans behind it… not having to lie, cheat, steal, make back room under the table deals to make it a law. Which would be unconstitutional in the 1st place.
How many people died since I started writing this comment because billionaire George Soros didn’t pay for their health care? That eleven year old’s mother could have been saved. Or not.
If “people dying” supposedly creates a sense of urgency to pass this, then ask them why the benefits to “save those lives” won’t start for years?!?
All of their anecdotes ring hollow because they find it perfectly acceptable to hold off benefits for years. If the benefits can wait for years, then there is absolutely no urgency in passing this bill now.
The only real sense of urgency is that the Dems know the countdown clock to the end of their majority status is ticking away, and they are trying to cram as much “transformation” as they can in the time they have left. They’ve already blown 9 months on this, and can’t afford to back down now. Their need to claim “victory” is the only real sense of urgency in all of this.

Simple to understand, common sense, cost reducing, market based, expands care, less red tape, compassionate, improves doctor patient relationships, provides long term fix for bankrupt Medicaid and Medicare, works regardless if one qualifies for Medicare or Medicaid, etc, etc.
Health Care workers, not politicians, provide health care.

These cases make it even more clear that NOBODY goes without health CARE in America. We might have to pay the surgeons and oncologists for their services (the horror), but people get care.
The reason for these anecdotes is that they have to create the impression of an emergency. These aren’t new issues. . . but many of the cures we have are thanks to our superior health care system.
Everyone loves Medicare and Medicaid except the doctors. Doctors will stop taking Medicare without the 250B dollar ‘doctor fix’ because it doesn’t reimburse them enough.
Obama needs to go back to talking about the evil doctor who cuts off a diabetic’s leg to make more money. That was a better argument than ‘the evil insurance company made me sick‘

Also, I read somewhere that the flu season isn’t very bad this year. They don’t know why. But it is likely that people are washing their hands more.
Isn’t that a better solution to health care than spending more money? Wash your hands and you won’t spend money on health care because you won’t get sick. I’d rather they legislate that because it won’t cost me money and it will improve health care.
But hey, what is a politician who doesn’t want to spend as much of other people’s money as possible and take credit for doing them a favor? Why they wouldn’t be much of anything if they didn’t spend all of our money would they?

Some idiot Congresswoman was on the investment channel talking about health care today. She was upset that health care cost us 17% of our GP. What she doesn’t realize is that due to Congress the US no longer produces anything to speak of. With all our laws we have force business out of our country. Thus, health care is one of the few reamining businesses that can’t be exported to another country. If she is worried about the relative expense of health, try eliminating about 75%of the government and see the effect it would have on our production.
Romney was on Hugh Hewitt. Asked point blank how he could have been in charge for Romneycare and oppose Obama care.
He rightfully pointed out how Obamacare is worse than Romneycare, but he really could have been a big man and also pointed out the problems with his own baby. A real “teachable moment”. He probably thinks not expressing any regret for Romneycare wins him points in 2012, but I think a mea culpa now, and he’d help himself for 2012.
I have to send another fax to Dr. Coburn, the other MD in Washington DC who has delivered thousands of babies, who doesn’t subscribe to conspiracy theories or is loved by StormFront, and ask him again to start putting together an exploratory committee for 2012.
Dr. Coburn’s website says he only wants two terms in the Senate and then back to full time medicine, but I’m doing my best to convince him he can help more people in the long run by putting a non-lawyer, conservative patriot back into the Oval Office.

You do realize Obama will still be President in 2011 unless fortune really smiles on America (and that fortune would mean President Biden, which isn’t all that fortunate*), and that with 18 Senate seats now held by Demonrats up for election, best case, 59 GOP seats. No filibuster protection, and when Obama vetoes a hell care repeal bill, nowhere close to the 67 votes needed to pass the bill over the veto, right?
The Dems have already shot themselves in the foot.
I am faxing as many fence sitters as I can, and offering not to send money to their GOP opponents this Fall if they vote the right way. Passing this monstrosity would be a disaster, and probably only adds a few seats to the likely House GOP majority.

And…? Without a super-majority in the senate — impossible to realize under even the highly unlikely best-case scenario until 2013 — this “health care stuff” is going to remain entrenched.
The left/donks are indeed tossing away their majority status in the house and maybe even the senate this November, but by then the greater part of the damage they seek to inflict on America will already be done (coming up: “comprehensive immigration reform” and some form of “green” energy taxes that will ensure that the economy never gets off its back).
