Obama, Pelosi on a money-grubbing mission

Demcare is not a done deal. They haven’t even released the House version to the public yet, but plan to ram it through on Saturday. Those pesky little details aren’t getting in the way of what’s really important, though. Within 30 minutes of each other, two money-grubbing solicitations in President Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s names just arrived in my in-box.
First one’s from the megalomaniacal House Speaker, who thinks the whole “world is watching:”
Michelle –
After nearly a century of false starts, more than a year of debate, and countless stories of struggle from hardworking Americans, it all comes down to this.
The Republicans have embarked on a desperate last-ditch effort to kill health insurance reform by shouting as loud as they can and spending as much as they can in this final push. Their misleading attacks cannot be the last word as the House prepares to vote.
March 31st marks the first FEC quarterly deadline since we began our final health care push and the nation is closely watching to see which side is willing to fight harder. Democrats have set a $1 Million Goal to fight back against their attacks and demonstrate just how determined we are to get this done for the American people.
With the world watching, please contribute $5, $10 or more to our Million Dollar Match. Contribute before March 31st and a group of committed Democrats will match your generosity dollar-for-dollar.
Contribute Today To Fight Back Against Republican Attacks and Help Pass Health Care
The closer we get to taking the final historic vote, the harder our opponents are fighting and the more misleading their attacks become. Thousands of you have already helped to knock down their falsehoods by adding your real health care stories at SpeakerPelosi.com. I cannot thank you enough.
However, our work is not done yet. We need to make a powerful show of momentum and determination to win this fight that only grassroots support can provide.
With the world watching, please contribute $5, $10 or more to our Million Dollar Match. Contribute before March 31st and a group of committed Democrats will match your generosity dollar-for-dollar.
As President Obama said this week, we need ‘courage’ to win this battle. Let us show our courage to stand up to the worst insurance company practices and the worst Republican attacks in this final critical push and win this fight for America’s families.
Thank you,
Nancy Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi
Speaker of the House
P.S. As the first FEC quarterly deadline of our final health care push quickly approaches, the world is closely watching to see which side is willing to fight harder for health insurance reform. Contribute to our Million Dollar Match before March 31st and a group of committed Democrats will match your generosity dollar-for-dollar.
And from the cajoler-in-chief, who repeats the Natoma Canfield human shield story:
michelle –
I wanted to take a moment to thank you directly for the outstanding work you’ve been doing as part of Organizing for America’s Final March for Reform. I can tell you that your voice is heard in Washington every day. I see how your efforts are moving us toward victory.
But I also know that with just days remaining, the final vote is shaping up to be extremely close. Everything we’ve worked for is on the line, and your voice is needed now more than ever before.
Raise your voice today: We must all speak out together to finish the job.
In these final, crucial days, much more will be asked of us. Our resolve will be tested.
During moments like this, I believe it’s important to remember why we have worked so hard for so long. That’s why I spoke to the country Monday at a gathering in Ohio and said it plainly: I’m here for Natoma.
Natoma Canfield is like most of us: She works hard, and tries to do what’s right. Years ago, she had battled back from cancer, so she always maintained health insurance in case she ever really needed it again. But because of her medical history, the insurance company kept raising her deductible and her premiums.
Last year alone, Natoma paid over $10,000 in monthly premiums and co-pays, while her insurance company chipped in just $900. And then they hiked up her rates another 40%. She simply couldn’t afford it — she had to cancel her policy. That’s when she wrote to me. I read her letter, and shared her story with insurance company CEOs as another reason why the system has to change.
That was two weeks ago. Then, just last week, the unthinkable happened: Natoma collapsed, and was rushed to a hospital. It’s leukemia — the cancer has returned. Now she’s in the hospital, worried sick not just about her condition, but how she’ll financially survive.
So why am I still in this fight? Simple. I’m here for Natoma.
I’m here because of the countless others who have been denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions. I’m here for the small business owners forced to chose between health care and hiring. I’m here for the folks who are forced to watch helplessly as their premiums skyrocket with no reason or recourse.
And I’m here for my mother. She died of cancer, and in the last six months of her life, I saw her on the phone in her hospital room arguing with insurance companies instead of focusing on getting well and spending time with her family.
As I was finishing my remarks Monday, a woman in the crowd called out, “we need courage.” She’s right.
The politicians in Washington need courage to face down the powerful interests who have held back progress for far too long. And all of us who share this cause need courage to speak up with persistence and clarity in these final days.
I’ve always found that courage comes from remembering that we fight for something and someone beyond ourselves. It comes from our faith. And it comes from our commitment to those we love.
So please take a moment to remember those who inspire you — those who give you the strength to march on.
There’s very little time left, and still much to do. But I believe to my core in the power of Americans to change history when we put our mind to it. And if you’ll stay with us in these final days, I know we can do it again:

Thank you for making it possible,
President Barack Obama

OMG, Michelle how do you get so lucky to get mail from this bho and nan? And asking for money too! Thank goodness I do not get such mail.

I understand there are some people with a lust for power. I even accept that as part of human nature. But for the life of me, I do not understand how some can stoop so low in the quest to control others.
There comes a time when an honest belief that you know best how others should live no longer covers your actions. There comes a time when there is no other explanation than evil.
From Obama
I don’t think he knows who you are, Michelle.
You say that with such remarkable assurance.
Bottom line is, though, that if one is prepared to accept the consequences then a “by any means necessary” approach to realizing even a reprehensible goal will be effective.
We are confronted by a Domestic Enemy that is prepared to impose its statist will on America by any means necessary. They’ll shred the Constitution, break the law, rewrite the rules during the game and do whatever else is necessary to have their way.
They are confident that their opposition is not similarly prepared to wage total political war like they are. And they are probably right: once donkey-care is imposed on us, then absent a conservative super-majority in the senate the only to undo it will be to become as cynical, self-serving, brazen and scofflaw as the donks were in enacting it.
And I really, really doubt that conservatives are prepared to go there.
None of that surprises me. The part I find difficult to understand is those who are so eager to assist them in their pursuit of total control.
I think this email was meant for Michelle O. Even Nan isn’t stupid enough to ask a conservative pundit for money. Or is she? Maybe the arrogance is getting totally out of control.
Or could it be, her staff hasn’t researched this any better than they did that insurance abused kid whose mother died. Or the SCHIP kids, or anything else for that matter.
Why do they need money to fight the Repubs who have no power to stop this bill? Maybe they should be honest and ask for money to stop the American public who has had enough of their lies and are poised to do something about it.
FIFY
Easy enough, they think they know “the man”, or the man that knows the man at least. Somehow, in a stunning lack of reasoned thinking, they think they are going to be exempt. “Socialism is for the people, not the socialists.”
I’m concerned about how some of the terms being used to describe what the left is up to do not reflect or illustrate the truth of the matter. Let me explain.
If someone stole my car, a car that was rightfully mine, all attempts to recover my car would NOT be described with terms like, “I am on a car grabbing, car hungry, mission.”
I would be using terms that reflected the hard work I was doing to RESTORE to me what I believe is mine.
It is precisely at this point where I believe conservatives end up looking like a deer in a car’s headlights when looking at the left coming at us at high speed.
The left’s actions are about restoring to them what they think they rightly deserve. Its about creating a government that is going to do exactly what they think the government is suppose to be doing.
In the left’s mind they aren’t grabbing anything. They are restoring. It isn’t a power grab, it is restoring power to the ruling class in whom power belongs in the first place.
Their kind of thinking is only managed by keeping them out of office, not by legislative tricks or parliamentary shenanigans of our own.
The framing of what is going on I would hope at least on conservative media web sites would reflect more precisely the left’s mindset.
I didn’t see any language protesting the bipartisan resistance to this Democrat-only bill.
I wonder if the dedocated group od communists means the Soros group who are selling the dollar short as they destroy the economy just as he did in europe.
I’ve paid thousands in monthly premiums for collision coverage and the cheap-a$$ insurance hasn’t paid me a dime.

Nancy Lugosi….sucking blood out of turnips for The Boy Queen President in Name Only.
I am speculating at this point the BQ_PINO and his Madam are nearly out of trial balloons. It will come down to a vote they won’t win. And if they do win the trial lawyers they are so fond of taking money from will begin to excise their fat fees defending and sueing the government….what else do these types of lawyers do but speak out of both sides of their fee-soliciting mouths.
The process will result in a law that will be repealed for one thing. But think about it, this is going to be a fee-bonanza windfall for attorneys in the coming big fight over what the law can and cannot do.
Methinks this whole ruse is to weaken the country so badly financially that we wont be able to keep armies in the field.
Stay tuned for total war in the Middle East as Israel decides the BQ_PINO has no spine for anything, so much so that he has outsourced his legislative agenda to Lugosi and Harry the Bending Reed.

There are many out there that are just ignorant/dumb/stupid enough to think ‘ol stretchface and Odrama Queen personally wrote them asking, again, for the help that only they can provide. Bet they’re showing it to their friends and neighbors and they believe it too. What was it again P.T. Barnum remarked about fools?
That’s what this week has been. Pelosi is putting on a show, to make people think she has the votes to pass it.
The truth is she doesn’t have the votes, but she can’t show any hint of doubt. She must act and speak like it’s already a done deal.
She can’t win it without grassroots support.
But she doesn’t have grassroots support. She has grassroots opposition from Republicans, Independents, AND some Democrats.
Translation:
Instead of the Democrat “Kicking Ass” logo, the logo should be Obama, Pelosi, and Reid getting their a** kicked.
Just compare the fundraising numbers of Martha Cokely to Scott Brown.
Brown raised multiple times more than Cokely.
And that race focused on support vs. opposition to the Health Care Bill!
Enough said.
On March 17th, 2010 at 1:03 pm, Regulus said:
Quite right. Few conservatives really understand the evil that confronts us. Few conservatives really understand the godless inhumanity inherent in a totalitarian regime. Why? I offer an answer in the words of a remarkable woman who survived the Holocaust, Gerda Weissmann Klein. From her book, All But My Life, I quote:
Why? Why did we walk like meek sheep to the slaughterhouse? Why did we not fight back? What had we to lose? Nothing but our lives. Why did we not run away and hide? We might have had a chance to survive. Why did we walk deliberately and obediently into their clutches?
I know why. Because we had faith in humanity. Because we did not really think that human beings were capable of committing such crimes.
Few conservatives really understand the ruthlessness that lies within the Marxist mind. Therefore most conservatives think the battle against totalitarianism can be won with words and votes. Unless and until we fight ruthlessness with ruthlessness we are lost.
No fair. Michelle gets all the cool mail.
I would like to second that comment from the President.
Regulus #22 – these are not words we Americans like to hear. I pray we have the mindset and commitment shown by our Forefathers and countrymen who risked everything, including their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to found this great nation.
er…
These two whores are as low as human life can get.
They’ll drag some children out to ply for them….. them be sure to allow defenseless children just like them to be mutilated in the womb.
Obama say he does this for “Natoma”. Well…. under his plan, Natoma would be more likely to have died long ago. That’s this scum’s legacy.
Both Pelosi and Obama can go to hell.
Just sign up for their e-mail notices–I get Brady Campaign e-mail and keep up on what the vermin are doing.
SECOND THAT! NJAviator #27!
I just send them a few of these.
I figure that I can afford it by taking it out of the 3ooo percent that I’m going to save on my and my employees health care premiums.
Since the 1930′s
FirstSkirt, at #25.
#22 was actually mine. I was agreeing with the comment Regulus made at #4, and then adding my comment. My mistake; I should have quoted what he said.
But you are correct in saying these are not words we Americans like to hear. That is my point exactly.
Now touching into the negative twenties…
