Hang in there, Rep. Stupak

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 18, 2010 09:31 AM

Please stay strong, Rep. Stupak. For life and liberty, stay strong. Via The Hill:

The fight has taken a toll on his wife, who has disconnected the phone in their home to avoid harassment.

“All the phones are unplugged at our house — tired of the obscene calls and threats. She won’t watch TV,” Stupak said during an hourlong interview with The Hill in his Rayburn office. “People saying they’re going to spit on you and all this. That’s just not fun.”

…Stupak said he didn’t anticipate how big the abortion issue would become during the healthcare reform debate, nor did he figure to find himself a household name.

“I’m a little surprised,” Stupak said.

The worst part has been the pressure from groups and individuals from outside his district on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

“How’s it been? Like a living hell,” Stupak said.

Rep Stupak, I can only assume the vile phone calls and threats are coming from the party of compassion and tolerance, since the party of greedy heartless bigots and bastards is voting the same way as you. Doesn’t it give you that warm and fuzzy feeling to be aligned with such a caring and civil group. Welcome to the politics of personal destruction which republicans have been getting for decades.

The Pro Choice,Pro Abortion on Demand element has no problem being a vicious, violent and cruel bunch of thugs do they? But that is to be expected from people who consider a human life no more than a biological thing-a pest and pestilence-a plague as some put it. This is to be expected from the Party of Death.

For his own soul Mr. Stupak needs to stand and be counted-eternity awaits. Remember the Christian Martyrs this Lenten season.

Stupak is a brother Knight of Columbus.

I’d hope he’d wake up there is no role for pro-life people in the Demonratic party.

Most of the so-called pro-lifers are frauds. Like Casey. The party spit on his father for being truly pro-life, as governor of Pennsylvania, he was denied speaking time at the 1992 convention because he was pro-life, but the junior Casey ran as a pro-life Catholic against Santorum, then voted for Obama’s Mexico City change that permits US tax dollars to kill brown babies in the Third World.

Stupak was a state trooper. Dems admit pushing for abortion coverage in Obamacare, yet some deny it. His opposition is based on more than the abortion issue.

Stupak doesn’t belong in the Demonratic Party, but if he does switch, he’ll be like two other men I can think of that would have been natural fits in the party except for one key issue.

Lindsay Graham and John McCain were both military officers, by the time they entered politics, the Dems had clearly become anti-patriotic and anti-military. They would have been “moderate Democrats”. But they just couldn’t join the party. Phil Gramm was a Democrat, his big concern was a complete lack of fiscal responsibility, as a sitting member of the House he announced he would finish his term as a member of the Donk caucus, but enter the Republican primary for his seat.

Now, someone like Snowe, just a flat out Demorat mole, but people like McCain, Graham, and Stupak, if he switched, are not/would not be solid conservative Republicans, just politicians who found the GOP more palatable than the Demonrats.

Rep. Stupak, why are you with the Party of Death?

The pro-lifer has been hung out to dry as an obstacle getting in the way of the Great Utopian Dream. It isn’t just that the Democrats are pro-abortion, though they are. They see this guy as a potential spoiler to the real pot of gold, and that’s one-party, total government over the masses.

I lived this same cr@p from my neighbors in Chicago. Stupek would do a great disservice to his values if he caved to a thug and the democrat party. Long after Bho is out of office, Stupek has to live with his decisions. He could be remember for selling out the country to get harassing to stop.

He sold out the first time around. There is no reason to believe that he won’t sell out again.

“The salesman’s creed” is, “‘No’ simply means that I haven’t found the right approach yet.” Hope-a-Dope and Pelosi will keep working him over until they either hit upon what Stupak considers to be the world & a box of crackers, or some “offer he can’t refuse.”

    Either way, he’ll roll over.

Anyone expecting strength of character needs to be reminded: he’s a donk.

Stupak flip-flopped on the House bill at the last minute after assuring me he would not vote for it. He has a 90% ADA voting record. His constituent newsletters are filled with references to pleas he’s getting from MI employers telling him they can’t afford skyrocketing insurance costs. That he was a Michigan State Trooper is irrelevant. Do you think all of them are conservatives? If Pelosi needs his vote, he will flip-flop again and cave. If she finds enough votes without him, she’ll let him save face. As for him switching parties, he has already said he’d never do that. He’s a liberal, folks. Face it.
