If you cannot trust government’s numbers, you cannot trust government’s words. This is the lesson of the House Democrats’ desperate promotion of a phony-baloney, Congressional Budget Office analysis of their latest health care takeover package.
Democrat leaders leaked a solid-seeming price tag figure — $940 billion over 10 years – before the CBO released any official comment or report. Liberal blogs and mainstream news wires started parroting Democrat claims that their plan “would cut the deficit by $130 billion over the next decade, and $1.2 trillion in the second decade of the plan’s implementation” – again, before the CBO had released an iota of information. And hours before the House Rules Committee posted the long-awaited reconciliation bill.
House Majority Whip James Clyburn pronounced himself “giddy” over the supposed CBO scoring. Math-lover House Speaker Nancy Pelosi proclaimed: “I love numbers. They’re so precise.”
But “precise” does not mean “accurate.” And the most “precise” numbers can be utterly worthless. Which is basically what the CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf pointed out in his summary of the unofficial, preliminary analysis of Demcare:
“Although CBO completed a preliminary review of legislative language prior to its release, the agency has not thoroughly examined the reconciliation proposal to verify its consistency with the previous draft. This estimate is therefore preliminary, pending a review of the language of the reconciliation proposal, as well as further review and refinement of the budgetary projections.”
Translation: Garbage in, garbage out. Elmendorf’s weary number-crunchers know they are just more stage props in the Oba-Kabuki health care theater. Like the president’s partisan donor-doctors dressed up in their White House-supplied lab coats, the CBO’s statistical authorities are being exploited to lend credibility and solidity to the Democrats’ legislative vaporware.
The CBO didn’t release its non-report report because it was finished. The agency released it because Democrats needed cover for their bogus transparency pledge to post the bill 72 hours before voting for it (which they still didn’t fulfill). The good news is that the number-crunchers say they may have a real, final, useful analysis done by Sunday. The bad news is that the House Democrats – moving forward with their “deem-and-pass” trickery to – are scheduled to ram this monstrosity through by Sunday.
Pelosi touted fantasy savings from cutting Medicare waste, fraud, and abuse totaling some $500 billion over the first 10 years of the Demcare plan – but the House Democrats rely on reaping massive dividends from Medicare reimbursement cuts that no one in Congress has had the courage to make. They also set aside the projected $200 billion so-called “doctor fix” to Medicare to make their math fit.
The first four years of Demcare clock in at $17 billion. Which means the last six would cost a whopping $923 billion. As the CBO noted, it “does not generally provide cost estimates beyond the 10-year budget projection period” — with second-decade projections subject to “an even greater degree of uncertainty” than its projections for the first 10 years.”
Yet, over the past week, Democrat leaders blithely jiggered and re-jiggered their plan to get under a trillion-dollar spending threshold. Like the children’s building-block game of Jenga, they stacked tax hikes and subsidies and Medicare cuts and illusory savings into a rickety tower of budget deception – then gingerly slid out the priciest pieces, re-arranged them all, and pushed back the spending kick-ins until the resulting edifice stood steady long enough to stay beneath 12 zeroes for a passing moment.
There’s an old saying that “Figures don’t lie, but liars sure do figure.” Every major Demcare statistic – from the inflated number of uninsured to the politicized junk-science statistic on the number of Americans who purportedly die from lack of health insurance to the mythical savings that will come from squandering “$940 billion” – is a single-payer-promoting figment of liberal imagination.
Mathematical corruption is ideological corruption. The health care battle – and the battle over truth in government accounting – is not just about health care. It’s about the lies and damned lies that will be used to ram through cap-and-trade, illegal alien amnesty, and endless more bailouts. As Pelosi vowed last week, “Kick open that door, and there will be other legislation to follow. We’ll take the country in a new direction.” Yep: Straight to a red-ink-stained hell in a handbasket.

Political prophets have said for 60 years that America would not be defeated from without but from within. They were right. The domestic enemies cited in the Constitution are now in their full expression inside the United States government.
Exactly why aren’t they doing this now? By their own admission, there is presently $50 billion a year in Fraud, Waste, and Abuse. They have had control over this for the last year plus, why haven’t they done something about it?
Aren’t these the same people that said the Medicare prescription drug plan was too expensive? Then why is even more of the same okay now?
Lots of questions that will never be answered. In another few years, it will probably be illegal to even ask them.

I believe she was referring not only to Obamacare as such, but also to the Slaughter “Rule” [sic] which, IMHO in the hands of today’s Democrats, will become America’s Enabling Act.
It’s amazing that Communism is in power and “fundamentally changing” America without firing a shot. While this was predicted years ago, I never thought I would live to actually see it happen.
As I have said before, Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals has been fully implemented, and is working beyond even the dreams of the most radical of the radicals in charge.
One of the most shameful aspects of this entire episode has been the corruption of the Congressional Budget Office, which used to be an even-handed, non-partisan, impartial agency that served both parties fairly. But that is no longer the case, and the Democrats get all the blame. Even under LBJ and Clinton, CBO remained impartial. Even under a Republican Congress and White House, CBO remained impartial. But BO and the Dems have completely destroyed its legitimacy in less than a year. The preliminary (but most devastating attack) on the CBO occurred last July, when BO summoned CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf to the White House for a “meeting” after the CBO’s first numbers on the health care bill did not please him. This summoning by the executive branch was unprecedented. Shortly thereafter, the report was “updated.” Since then, the CBO has been the shameless whore of both congressional Democrats, and the White House. Only people who can read the tea leaves of what Olmendorf says truly realize the extent of this corruption. We are being lied to on a daily basis — big lies — on the order of the President of the United States, the Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader of the Senate. This represent a further, major erosion of our liberty, and our ability to govern ourselves. Knowledge really is power.
This whole health care debate and the upcoming immigration “reform” remind me of the scene in “Snow White” when the wicked stepmother/witch poisons the apple. Then the witch (Pelosi, Obama, Reid) hand us the rosy red apple filled with the poison potion and plead to just take a bite and all will be okay.
The majority of US believe/know it won’t be okay. Yet the lemmings are ready to take the bite of the apple. Unfortunately, in Congress there are enough of the miniority to render the majority helpless.
Usually you have to wait for decades to find out that a new government entitlement has completely outstripped initial cost estimates and is going to bankrupt the country under remorseless spending increases.
But these Democrats are so wonderful, we’re going to find that out within hours of this law passing!
Maybe now is the time to stop looking…
Why can’t we stop this? What has happened to our country that the people no longer have any power at all? I’m hearing that this bill is so demonic that it will be illegal to overturn any of it. That should be patently unconstitutional.

The dangereous precedent about this debate is that the President of the US has made himself bigger than the Constitution that provides his office.
When people decide one person is more above the the law, then tyranny can’t be far behind.
When Grahnesty gets rolling next we’re going to hear, “Oops we forgot these other 30 million people that need health care”. All I can say anymore is, “Thank you very much if you thought Obambi would save the country or, if you weren’t sure but, were willing to give him a chance, thanks again.

I know all the possible avenues to revolt against whats happening but, unless millions do the same thing – say for example starve the beast – The IRS has the power to ruin us all. Sorry all you McCain fans, but there really wasn’t much choice last election. Both R & D supported amnesty, cap and trade, and the GOP only offered a slower road to socialism. I could not vote for amnesty, I voted third party. I tried every way I knew to prevent the GOP from their suicidal mission to nominate McCain. I will work just as hard to prevent the next nomination going to Romney.
I do think that it is possible that this bill could lead to Federal deficit reduction. After all, they will start taxing us now for a “services” that do not start for another 4 years. They could use that 4 years worth of money to pay down the debt. Of course, they will probably use it for something like studying the mating habits of dead people who passed away without insurance or a free government car.
Plus, the bill does shift a ton of the financial burden to the states. With some sort of voodoo equation, you could squint your left eye, close your right, stand on the head of a pin and see the Federal deficit go down while watching the states drown in a nasty shade of blue ink.
It sounds like the Communists want to use Slaughter for all legislation going forward.
Does anyone know if it is possible to file a cease and desist order against Congress to prevent them using Slaughter to pass Cap and Trade, Immigration Amnesty etc. – until the impending Landmark lawsuit is decided?

I would have to say the fuse has been lit. With this article and 37 states lining up to void Obamacare, we are reaching critical mass. Remember it takes 36 states to amend the Constituion.
Obama said he would “transform America.” I think Obama needs to be careful what he is asking for. He just may get it.
The passing of this bill has now become personal to the legislators; they do not want to lose.
They do not want to understand that their “do-good” pie-in-the-sky, utopian ideals in the form of government programs already in place are killing the economies of the states.
If this behemoth passes, I want every US Senator, every US Rep, the President, and all federal employees on this healthcare plan.
Our prisons are filled with people who, for numerous reasons, did not pay their taxes.
Now that the IRS has been named to administer whatever emerges from the Democrat Houses as health care, is it really that far-fetched to believe people who refuse or are unable to buy into the plan may end-up receiving jail sentences?

It would only take ONE honest judge to require Barry Soetoro to prove he’s eligible for office for this nightmare to end. Nancy Pelosi was the one who signed off on his eligibilty, she’d be gone too. Barry is a fraud and NO ONE vetted him. His father was a foreign national, he’s ineligible to be President, he’s not a natural born citizen. Any ONE member of Congress or Supreme Court Justice or even Dick Cheney could have spoken up, but they were too chicken to save the Republic.

It was pointed out on Fox this morning that more private enterprise has been taken over in the U.S.this past year than has been taken over by Hugo Chavez.

When has anything that the government ever ‘budgeted’ NOT gone over budget? Of course, they are hiding stuff, that’s the only way they can push this through…unfortunately, they are robbing us blind, and not just us – generations to come…
We can’t stop it in Congress because the donks are prepared to use any means necessary to screw the American People, and so far their opposition isn’t prepared to use any means necessary to stop them.
That doesn’t mean that donkey-care can’t be stopped; it just can’t be stopped in Congress. We are going to lose a battle on Sunday, but this is a campaign and not just a single battle. There are others still to fight:
1. Litigation. There are multiple legal/constitutional avenues to explore as a means of invalidating the donks’ power-grab. I was watching the AG of Virginia last night on FNC, and he laid out some persuasive constitutional arguments against donkey-care in general and how the donks are trying to pass it. I found his arguments on standing and countering the federal supremacy defense to be well-considered.
We still may lose this battle too, though. It’s possible that the Supreme Court would refuse to hear any appeal, based on the concept that the judicial branch should not interfere with the right of the legislative branch to set its own rules. If that happens, then it’s on to…
2. Massive civil disobedience. If enough ordinary Americans are willing to stand up and refuse to play along with donkey-care — including the willingness to be targeted by the IRS, and to even go to jail for their convictions — eventually the donks will be forced to either become even more dictatorial in their efforts to force compliance or to repeal the source of the civil unrest.
3. Roll-back in 2013. A remote possibility, but still possible. Assuming a donkey electoral bloodbath this November and in 2012, perhaps enough of the newly-elected congress-critters coupled with a few shell-shocked donks willing to reconsider their hubris of 2010 could form the super-majority needed in the Senate to repeal donkey-care. Not holding my breath for this one, but maybe…
4. Second American Revolution. If none of the above work, just remember that donkey-care will be tipping point where the American economy goes over the waterfall, the federal government goes bankrupt and a lot of the state governments follow suit. In the social/economic/political chaos that follows, donkey-care will probably be swept away — along with a lot of everything else.
So you see, there is still a long, long way to go before the campaign is decided. We have only lost one battle. The war goes on.
Don’t be surprised if you wake up Sunday morning and find that the House has passed the health care bill just after midnight Saturday/Sun.

About 2,700 of the agency’s 100,000 employees are sworn law enforcement officers (known as special agents) and authorized to carry firearms, spokesman Eric Smith explained in an e-mail. They enforce selected criminal provisions of Titles 18, 26 and 31 of the US Code, domestic and international tax fraud violations and violations of the Bank Secrecy Act, among others.

In terms of the savings from waste, fraud and abuse the loyal opposition should have challenged the Administration to demonstrate that this could have been accomplished. One year has passed and savings could have been realized had someone stood up and say, ‘prove it’.
Heck, sweeten the pot and promise 5 votes on healthcare if savings from waste, fraud and abuse does in fact happen.

Due to the great deal of future strife that may be coming,I think perhaps it is time for reverse immigration. Why don’t we leave the USA and go back to our ancestral lands? This would accomplish the following:
1. The “Islamization” of Europe would stop immediately. The new Christian “ancestral immigrants” would outnumber them quickly.
2. We , as ethnic Italians, Danes, Brits, etc. would demand citizenship and therefore the right to vote. We could remake these smaller countries into true conservative nations.
3. We would bring our considerable wealth and skills to our new homelands, allowing them to prosper.
This mass exodus would greatly benefit primarily Europe and Central/South America. Africa would also benefit. The only place this may not work is Asia, due to the size of China and Japan and South Korea’s wealth. Our forefathers travelled to this country for a better life. Maybe it is time to go back, considering what may ahead.
I’d halfway like to see the GOP promise not to fund any Republican running against any incumbent Democrat who votes No.
At this point I am thoroughly disgusted with both parties. This isn’t the America I was promised.

Why wouldn’t we? Listening to Pelosi this morning, I can’t believe how great this bill is going to be for America. How impressive. How could anyone be against it? She said abortion would still be allowed but wouldn’t be paid for by tax dollars. That maintains the status quo on abortion so even pro lifers can vote for it. They have covered all the bases.

Stipulating that 9/11 should not have occurred; but, given that it did; then, it would have been better if Flight 93 had succeeded — in exchange for the planes that did hit their targets failing instead.
That way, the two more important aspects of American life (ie, trade and defense) would have survivied; and, the most harmful aspect (ie, government) would have been forced to re-build.
And on top of that, several fewer thousand lives would have been lost.
The way things are now, al Qaeda can go on vacation. Their de-facto operatives in DC are doing far more harm to the country than anything terrorists have done.
