More photos at Instapundit, who shares an e-mail from a protester in D.C.: “On crowd size, Randy emails: “They announced 25K about 15 minutes ago. I cannot see side to side but it goes solidly from steps to pond and then around to the other side of the water. Before things got started it was full between the 2 walk ways leading up to Capital. Is now wider than that but I cannot see the edges from where I am.”

Nancy Pelosi’s Slaughter House convenes at 9am. The chaplain opened with a prayer that had this line: “Shield us with your Holy Spirit, Lord…and drive away all that is evil.”

Amen to that.

On the West Lawn of the Capitol, Tea Party protesters and health care takeover opponents meet at high noon to raise their voices against the rotten policy and rotten process that has led us to this foul moment.

Americans will also gather at demonstrations nationwide to show their disgust and disapproval of the corruption, coercion, and Constitution-butchering.

I’ll post as many reader notices, photos, etc. from across the country as I can. Kicking off the rundown:

Update: San Francisco Bay Area protest recap here.

Update: Capitol Hill protests stretched into the evening. Many Tea Party activists will be back again Sunday to keep up the no-mentum.

Reader Joey who was in attendance in DC e-mails:

“After the day long rally, into the night there were speakers. Toward the end, we were asked to please email, and phone everyone and request they return tomorrow. We were told that the congressman would be praying inside the capital at 11 am and that it would be wonderful if we were outside praying. Just passing this along.”

However, anyone planning to go to a rally/DC etc. should have facts to support their concerns. Facts from the bill itself, or statements made by Pelosi/Obama/Dem party.

The process that we are seeing in this fight “by any means necessary” and “by hook or by crook” demonstrates clearly that the people entrusted with our representation have an insatiable thirst and hunger for even more unauthorized power over the people. Despite having far more power than they were ever intended or authorized to possess- and having obtained it through self licensing unto themselves- through fiat interpretations and other edicts against the meaning of our Constitution- they will never be sated. They believe they need much, much more.
The power they do have already adds a negative to everything we try to do as free individuals. It throttles our businesses, and forces social and moral absurdities.
They will destroy this country if not stopped.
The power to stop them lays with the people, believing they must be stopped is the prerequisite that just too many have not yet concluded, some never ever will.

I believe there is an online protest as well, correct? Or am I getting it wrong?

Are there any protests in Denver? Colorado Springs? Does anybody know the site for the on-line protest? I live in Colorado Springs and haven’t heard anything.

I’m an absentee NY voter and Eliot Engel represents the 17th NY congressional district where I vote. I tried calling him on Friday. Multiple times. I didn’t get through. My in-laws live in that district and were urged to call by neighbors. My father-in-law called him as well. I’m not sure he got through either.

Engel is a hard-core liberal and not open to reason, only ideology. It is saddening that such an individual represents me, my husband, and my in-laws. His representation is more about party and self-egrandizement than it is country. He is another reason why I despise NY “downstaters” who have been selfish with not only the state’s money, but have mismanaged with Republican obeisance.

I’ve tried. I didn’t give up. Yet, I feel defeated and I know it’s not nearly over yet. The bill has to go back to the Senate for approval plus there will be so many legal challenges and electoral consequences to this legislation that it won’t be implemented nearly as easily as Obeyme thinks.

This is what’s happening with the EPA greenhouse edict right now where several states are suing the EPA.

I wrote this based on the FDR speech following the Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor. It this obamacare monstrosity passes, this will be an appropriate speech for our history:———–

On March 21, 2010—a date which will live in infamy—the citizens of United States of America were deliberately attacked from within by their own government.

Americans were at peace, and were reminding their political leaders that their constitutional purpose was to serve. Indeed, for over a year, at Town Halls and Tea parties, Americans pleaded to be represented. Yet during this entire period, using the levers of government, the attacks continued.

The President of the United States and his colleagues in Congress delivered blow after blow disregarding the message from Americans. It is obvious that it is useless to continue the existing dialogue, for it has and will continue to go unheeded. But let the politicians know that the whole nation will remember the character of the onslaught.

No matter how long it may take to overcome this abuse, the American people will right this wrong. The American people will in their righteous might win through to absolute victory and will re-establish the Constitution as the foundation for this nation of laws.

They will see to it that this form of treachery shall never endanger the nation again. Hostilities exist. There is no mincing the fact that the American people and the nation are in great danger.

Therefore, since the unprovoked and dastardly attack of 22 March, a state of political war now exists between the government and the American people.

Besides the fact that this is actually a pretty good policy for able bodied adults, this country already has a numerous safety nets for the poor, sick and elderly and even many able-bodied adults. Obama seems completely unaware of this and believes America is like some Dickensian slum. Ironically, this is where we are headed when the welfare state starts collapsing in a few more years and this bill will only speed it up.

The last two protests, today and last Tuesday, were hastily called and still generated a turnout. Tea Party protesters get themselves to these protests at their expense and not at the expense of other taxpayers like the La Raza, Acorn and other protesters. The big liberal groups receive millions of taxpayer dollars, which they use to pay people to show up protest and in many get abusive and destructive.

Some of the protesters you see on the liberal side are professional protesters paid to be there. Even if only 1000 people showed up it should be noticed that the US taxpayers are ready for a fight.

Back in the 1990′s when Bubba and the Seahag were trying to socialize health care, the bill was much less damaging than now, the left eventually gave in even though the American people were also against the scheme for a long time, and the left lost badly in the House and Senate.

This bill is much worse, yet the left is pushing much harder and longer to cram this abomination down the throats of Americans.

Caterpillar announcing it would cost their company another $100 million a year, and the left continuing to push this is downright scary.

If Caterpillar is any example, the current bad economy will look like boom times with this crap which appears more designed just to further destroy the economy.

Why do the Dems keep pushing this? Some hate America as much as Owebama. Some want the power and control over people. Others are clueless, and some likely are counting on voters forgetting by November.

    Can voters forget?

I never thought voters would give the House and/or the Senate to the same Democrats who covered for Clinton, or looked the other way.

Yet he was re-elected, and she was installed in the Senate, and the rest of the rabid socialists continued to hold the House and Senate.

I also never thought voters would ever again vote for a lying leftist hack, yet the WH is again occupied by one.

What have they got to lose with a bunch of spineless Republicans who likely will be too chicken to repeal anything once passed?

…and voters too gullible to think the left would ever lie to them?

Many historians contend these began with the first Freedom Ride in 1947 and included the Montgomery Bus boycott 1n 1955. Dr. King’s led credited as helping to pass the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the National Voting Rights Act in 1965.

It took the “Civil rights movement” 16 years to gather hundreds of thousands of people marching on Washington, D.C. advocate the laws that were passed in 1964 and 1965.

Today, and tomorrow we will gather in smaller numbers not because we lack supporters throughout the country. It is because we as an organization have had maybe 3 days not several years to plan for a march on Washington, D.C. Furthermore, we are protesting an imminent vote on legislation. While we hope to send a message to President Obama and congress, we are not on the healthcare issue advocating any type of legislation.

Dr. King’s march on Washington, D.C., and the Tea Party’s protest this weekend cannot be fairly compared. If, The Tea Party stages a march on Washington to advocate sweeping social change at a time of its choosing, that would be a fair comparison.

The MSM (led by the Washington Post it seems) has started their dismissing of the protest. They are reporting that there were “hundreds” of Tea Party protesters. At the same time, they are porting “thousands” at the Anti-War rally. And of course, those at the Code Red rally were yelling racist and homophobic comments. If that did happen, are we looking at unfortunate fringe elements, plants in the crowd, or the LaRouche guys trying to join in?

People need to make sure that any photos of the size of the crowd at the Code Red rally are visible so people can see how many people were really there.

Distracting the public away from the legitimate concerns of the many by highlighting the alleged prejudices of the few (but characterizing them as the many) is irresponsible and dishonest, to say the least. One could even call it hypocritical.

I cannot believe two Congressmen heard this and just continued on their way. Why did they not report it to the Capitol Police so they could investigate immediately?

Why did Bwawney Fwank say essentially the same thing?

Sounds as if the reports are coordinated. Were these Congressmen aware that someone might be there? Or did they just make this up to slander everyone there?

Anyone know anyone that may have been nearby when any of these Congressmen were present? Anyone have video?

DescriptionThe US Congress is poised to “deem and pass” one of, if not the most damaging bills in US history.
They are doing this despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of Americans are against it.
WASHINGTON IS NOT LISTENING TO US

It’s time to put pressure on our elected officials in Michigan!

If there is no way to kill this bill, then Michigan needs to exert it’s 10th Amendment Sovereignty and NULLIFY this bill!

A number of states, like Idaho, are passing provisions that would either prohibit it from becoming a law in their state, or would require the state to file a suit.

Michigan has such a provision. House Joint Resolution, HJR YY introduced by Rep. Opsommer, that is in the Judiciary Committee.

This Joint Resolution would amend Michigan’s Constitution to create a Federalism Committee charged with monitoring and reviewing federal laws and mandates to determine if they violate the Michigan Constitution or if they violate such areas as the 9th and 10th Amendments of the US Constitution.

Federalism Commission determines a violation exists, the law will provide for an expedited process for the commission to then push appropriate legislation to the floor to nullify.

    BRING SIGNS, STATE FLAG!
